bring your own breakfast! we have stayed in this hotel before, it is still clean and fairly nice. but the breakfast is sub par. we were there three days and they ran out of cereal and other items every day, that is poor management. the little lady behind the counter was doing her best but the biscuits and gravy were cold and nasty, with breakfast like this your day doesn't get off to it's best start. the hotel owners must be in cahoots with the cracker barrel next door because i'm sure a lot of people walk over, we did our first day because they were out of everything. cracker barrel will cost you an extra $10-$15 per person for breakfast. the front desk staff was mostly friendly, my step daughter mentioned to the desk attendent that the people in the room next to hers had gangsta rap playing loudly and kids running and screaming until 4 am. his response was shrugging his shoulders and saying "it's spring break". instead of apologizing and offering to relocate her. after she pressed him and insisted something be done she was relocated to another room and the issue was resolved, his attitude was not hospitable or customer friendly at all. the house keeping staff were friendly and worked hard to keep the property clean , they did a great job. this was our second stay at this hotel we enjoyed it the first time but the second go around was not as pleasant. we will do more shopping the next time we stay in the area.…
We watched Hurricane Sally from New Orleans roar onshore in Gulf Shores on Sept 15th, spoke to a friend that lives in Gulf Shores and asked what we could do to help. So on Sept 17th, my wife, oldest daughter, her boyfriend and myself decided we would drive down Sat 19th, and bring with us 2 pallets of water(4000 bottles), ingredients to make 1000 servings of Jambalaya, 1000 hotdogs and buns, etc etc.. all on our dime. We booked 2 king suite with sofa sleeper for 1 night. Was given a quote of $651.68, which at the time qe were really shocked at the price... but decided we were doing something good for the people of Gulf shores. We arrived in Foley about 8am,and set up on Hwy 59, where The Big Fish Ministry was giving away water, we cooked all day. At 3pm we were exhausted, happy and couldn't wait to shower. We went to the Holiday in to be informed that they no longer had any King rooms.... we were told it was going to be an upgrade to 2 rooms with 2 queen... also there was a big blower fan in the room trying to dry the still wet carpets from the Hurricane. We were so tired and just needed a shower, The owner/manager canceled our original reservations... we were charged $696.08 ( 44.40 more then the original price we booked) The carpets were still wet, the blower was loud and not very easy to sleep with, but at least we were able to shower and lay down. When I asked about the pricing I was informed that this was their room rate because of all the sport events going on... I was in shock with the reason, #1 we are in a Covid time still, #2 you had just had a category 2 roar ashore just 3 days earlier...#3 I felt like we had come to town only to help the community and put smiles on the faces of so many affected by this storm, only for us to leave frowning and feeling like we had been taken advantage of. I will never stay at another IGH property, nor will I ever recommend any of their properties. I will continue to spread the poor feelings about this location and how it was all handled. I will continue to come to Gulf Shores like we always have for so many years, but every chance I get I will bad mouth and remind people how we were price gouged by the Holiday Inn Express in Foley Alabama.…
We booked 3 night stay here to house hunt the area of Foley,I booked a room with a king size bed, called ahead of time to say we would be a late check in and told no problem, arrived about 10.20pm and waited for the night clerk to re start the computer which seemed to take forever, eventually got our room cards to find we were given a room with two queen beds, back to reception and was told no more king size left due to a Tournament going on, I'm 6'6 and my wife is 6' so wouldnt book anything but a king size, Booking.com called the hotel and was told the same thing. The following morning I sat in the reception waiting for our ride and after 15 minutes 4 customers checked out, now at least one of those probable had a king size room but the hotel was not very accommodating in helping or moving us. Due to covid there is NO breakfast buffet but a container left containing a biscuit with gravy and a very small omelette(picture attached) you can make you own mind up, but you have to take it back to your room to warm it, some days bananas are there, ask for yogurt and orange juice. The rooms and hotel is clean and hand sanitizer available. I gave the hotel 3 stars due to the clean room and hotel, not for their customer service or breakfast…
We came for three nights. Housekeeping doesn’t come in the room. You put your trash and dirty laundry outside the door before noon. They empty your trash and leave you clean bags in your cans, outside your door. You stop at the front desk to get clean towels, etc. they don’t do buffet breakfast but so offer what they call Grab and go Bags from 6:30-9:30. We never made it down to get one, but I believe they said you would have like a banana and a muffin to take back to your room to eat.
My family stayed for two nights at this hotel and according to the website it offered breakfast, had a fitness center and of course had a housekeeping staff. Wrong! After finally being allowed to check in almost thirty minutes after the designated time, we were told there would no breakfast due to the state health department, which wasn't true since I had traveled to north Alabama the week prior and at least was offered a continental breakfast; was told the fitness center was closed with the same excuse, again false since all gyms in the state had recently reopened; and that since we were staying two nights there would be no housekeeping until we checked out. We got extra towels at the registration county, but had to literally run down a housekeeper to even get much needed extra toilet paper. On top of this, my oldest daughter and grandson accompanied us on the trip, and were charged an extra $10 per night since my daughter was over 21. It made no difference that the room already had two beds and that since there as no breakfast or fitness center, she would obviously be no possible additional expense for the staff. Okay, i know COVID 19 gives everyone an excuse for just about any possible regulations, but at least be honest and publicize the changes.…
