After a long 15 hour drive, I was still sleeping in my vehicle so my wife chose not to wake me yet and food my id and credit card and attempted to check in at the front desk. No go. Well, ok, I had to get up anyway I guess. So I dragged my rear inside. Once in, another employee had the attention of the front desk clerk for a minute or two, looked like a manger, who was not in the least bit happy I was there. So my initial feeling was I was not welcomed. We are all large people, so I asked for a roll away so we would be more comfortable in addition to the 2 double/queen beds. (2 teen girls, husband and wife. I’m 6’7” well north of 375#). Happy to pay an upgrade fee. Answer was a flat “No” because of safety. Ok, we’d live I guess. Got parked and up we went. Shabby interior that lacked detailed cleaning. Carpet on front of elevator on 3rd floor and elevator itself were dirty and not cleaned while we were there. The room was ok (minus the requested extra mattress, which would have been no safety issue at all). They use lots of bleach as we are skin sensitive to it. Lots of itching and slight burning. WiFi didn’t operate well. Very slow and unusable. The breakfast, due to covid is limited. With little selection other than serial and Sysco sweet rolls. Customer service remained surly or indifferent in every interaction. I know this is a nice town and our rate was high, so we expected more. At least maybe people who were glad we were there with them. Disappointed. …
The hotel is convenient to downtown Fairhope, Point Clear and only a 30 minute drive to Gulf Shores. The hotel was beautiful and the staff did an excellent job. They were so pleasant and accommodating and really made you feel special. Stacy and Nikki were two of the staff that went above and beyond to make your stay very pleasant. This was the first time we stayed at a hotel since Covid began, and I was very impressed with the way they handled everything. I felt very safe and not worried at all about COVID!
We were in Fairhope to visit a relative at Thomas Medical Center. Holiday Inn Express was selected (1) based on pricing (2) location - very close to Thomas Med (3) reviews. ALL three were right on. Check in was seamless. Brooke was very helpful in getting us to our room. The King Suite was very clean, very quite, very comfortable and well furnished. Highly recommend this property if your travel plans bring you to Fairhope, AL.
I had no plans to stay in this hotel. I had no plans to stay in any hotel. But my husband had plans to aggravate the hell out of me to the point of bouncing out of the house for the night. With nothing but sweats, slippers and a box of wine I stole from the fridge I decided to just drive. I drove and drove until I started to get sleepy, which happened to be somewhere called Fairhope,Al. Found this Holiday Inn and I’m so glad it was here and not some dingy motel. I’ve got enough problems tonight. Everything is so nice and clean, very Covid safe. Front desk girl was very sweet. This comfy large bed (plus a little boxed wine) is helping me forget how much I wanna knee my husband in his gum balls. Highly recommend if you ever find yourself in a similar situation!
We stayed a week before Christmas. During a pandemic it’s very important to feel secure with the cleanliness of the place you’re staying at. We felt IHG at Fairhope went above to provide that for its guest. The customer service we received during our stay was was impeccable. Starting with the person at the desk, the hostess who served us breakfast and the young lady who cleaned and replenished our room everyday. We were always greeted warmly and felt like a valued guest. We couldn’t ask for a better stay.
