This place is not in great condition. The rooms are poor. No elevator. No A/C. The free breakfast was not much of a breakfast at all. Yes, the prices are low, but if you can afford to pay a bit morre, try another place. If we knew what the experience was going to be like, we never would have booked here.
Extremely friendly and accommodating host that spoke good English, he cooked us early breakfast before we left for Machu Picchu, the room was clean and comfortable, shower had hot water and fantastic water pressure, we would love to stay again if we ever return!
We loved the secludedness of this hotel. We were away from the more touristy restaurants near the train station. It was close to the soccer field at the back of Aguas Calientes. The hotel gave us a small room with an equally small window making the room feel cramped. I asked for something with a larger window and they happily obliged. The room was great and the bed was comfy. There was hot water which was so nice and rare to find in Peru. The front desk held our bags after check out while we were touring Machu Picchu. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Would stay here again.
The location of this hotel is amazing. It is close to thermal springs, a gym next to theatro 1 block away. Many restaurants nearby. 10 minutes walk to bus stop to take you to Machu Picchu. Our front desk lady, Rocco was really nice and helped in guiding us all around town. The hotel was okay. Was lucky to get a room with a window but there was no ceiling fan or AC. With the high humidity in Aguas Calientes, it made it very uncomfortable. Also I saw somewhere that this hotel has a safe and AC, none of which are true. Suggestion For Improvement: the humidity is high and some rooms have no window. Please get a fan for your rooms to fight humidity.
For one night stay it was OK. For longer - hardly. Rooms are dated (though clean). Quite some probleems with plumbing: tap in the bathroom lacks net/mixer, opening needs care or else you will have water squirting all over your front. Shower drains very slowly. Beds are comfortable but noise from the street is considerable, so sleep quality is not the best. Breakfast is OK, starts and ends very early, so no oversleeping. WiFi is on the slower side and sometimes problematic to log in. Locality is excellent, but then, Machu Picchu Pueblo is small, so probably all hotels are in good location. English may not be the best language to talk at the reception if you need more exact details on something.
Overall very pleased. Location is great, the room is clean and comfortable with a good hot shower. I was particularly impressed with the lovely lady at reception (wish I knew her name!) who offered me a lemon for my tea when she heard I had a cold. I took a star off though as the walls are thin and noise is a bit of an issue.
My friends and I were delighted with the excellent service and the good attention, we thought about visiting them again and knowing more about what they can offer us, thanks for the recommendation Brenda.
On our arrival, we were checked in and we carried our bags to our room. We walked into our room and thought "wow", this is really nice. There were towels in the shape of kissing swans on our bed, rose pedals in the shape as pe of a love heart, a couple of chocolate bars and a few lollies. There was also a bowl of fruit on a bedside table. The room was clean, even though some of the wallpaper was peeling off around the edges and the carpet had been there for a while. We tried some of the fruit and unfortunately it was all rotten. During the night, we realised how thin walls can be and how sound can travel, with people vomiting, going to the toilet and talking all night. At around 0300hrs, people started to get up and get ready for their hike to Machu Picchu and the noise started again. In total we had a bout 21/2 hours sleep. Even the cleaners got in on the act and were banging doors etc from 6am onwards. If you want a sleep in, this is not the place for you. Breakfast was ordinary, with hot food as cold as Inca stone. Some of the fruit was also old and had sections th a t were starting to go off. Needless to say, we didn't have breakfast here on our second morning. Location is great, however there are other places not to far away which may be better. Give them a go.…
I had one night to spend in this hotel. It was a good service, very clean room and the bed. Hot shower was the best that i had after the hike. Breakfast before to go to Machu picchu was great too. Overall excellent. Highly recommended!
We stayed one night in this hotel, in which we experienced a pretty decent time. Staff was great, helpful, especially Jose P who was extra kind and thoughtful with our stay. WiFi was a little weird, and walls were a little thin, but we were here to see Machu Picchu and this place was good enough for staying the night. The staff was also kind enough to have someone meet us at the train station with our bags so as to maximize our time in Machu Picchu as we were a little constrained by the time our train left. We recommend checking out the soccer field and catching a local match, and getting salchipapas right around the corner!
