I was fortunate to get an upgrade to this amazing hotel. The room was large and comfortable. My only complaint was the curtains were white and very thin. The light from outside shone in the room (number 10) the whole night, so I didn't get much sleep. I loved the hot water bottled in the room. A great touch. My favorite part was the complimentary dinner and breakfast. They were delicious. The staff were really friendly and welcoming.

After our tour of Machu Picchu citadel, we had lunch at the Inkaterra restaurant. It is a lovely space tucked into the trees of the Peruvian jungle away from the hectic part of Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu pueblo. Service and food was very good.

This hotel is not a five star as it pretends to be and by a huge margin. As some other guests have written, the gardens may be beautiful but unfortunately for us it was pouring rain so we could not enjoy it. There is an amazing number of flaws in this place: - if the rooms have a nice size, the furniture is truly basic and somewhat worn out - curtains are close to transparent plus in addition the upper windows do not even have curtains - It is just above the railway station and do you have the feeling that the trains are going through your room - The area has many mosquitoes, certainly not the hotel’s fault, except that they refuse to supply mosquito spray maybe enjoying the fact that clients are bitten all night. Only repellent can be provided. - Even in a Junior suite there is no bath tub and in addition you have to restart the hot water of the shower every one minute! - in the restaurant of this self-proclaimed five star the wine offer is limited to one red and one white!!! We took the white, by the glass, honestly pretty decent but the serving was the smallest I ever saw: certainly no more than 10 cL possibly less for no less than usd 10, meaning usd 75 a bottle of standard sauvignon blanc.

I am a well traveled Peruvian, visited more than 100 countries and obviously Cuzco many times. 100% recommendable! Service, food and smiles all over. The best property to stay in Machu Picchu. It is an oasis in Machu Picchu. They include excursions in their property: all amazing: orchids, bird watching and hikes.
