We love this place! It’s in a good location with short walking distance to train station, bus station and lots of restaurants yet it’s quite and way from busy streets. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. We got picked up from train station after we arrived. We found in the last minute by surprise that our entrance tickets to Machu Picchu were cancelled due to a hiccup during booking process due to language issue, Hayme at the front desk found two tickets for us and helped us with the online booking process. She goes above and beyond. I am so thankful. Imagine how disappointed we would have been coming all the way to machu picchu and not being able to visit the archeology site. Thanks, Hayme, thanks, terra viva for making this a memorable trip for us. May from Virginia
We Arrive late at night and Carolina was there to help us navigate from the Machu Picchu train to the hotel She rolled out the red carpet and helped us plan our trip for the next day The three of us could not have been happier Ranch was fantastic and I wish we would’ve stayed for lunch to but we were already returning back to Cusco
We decided to come to Aguascalientes last minute because of some protest that would not allow us to get to Machu Picchu on time, I quickly search for the few hotels that wear four and five stars and chose this one simply by some posted photos and location, I am glad we did because we end up staying 2 nights since we couldn’t get back to Cusco because of the protests. The rooms are very clean and spacious, in the regular rooms expect to have a hair dryer a TV and standard features, in the superior rooms you have a little more like bath bes two sinks and better views. I was worried about the carpet since I saw a review that posted something negative about it but the carpets, in the rooms we had were clean and did not smell.
Wonderful staff, Great shower. Short easy walk to bus, train, town square but not in the middle of the activity. Beautiful sound of rushing water. Convenient money exchange. Beautiful well made purses and textiles for sale.
We had a great time in Tierra Viva Machu Picchu, staff was very helpful and kind, especially Elmer from the reception. Rooms are clean and the view is amazing and it's near the station.I would certainly recommend this hotel for future travelers.
Nice big room, good view onto the raging torrents of the river outside. Slept like a log despite the noise. Very good central location behind the train station and easy to walk into town and around the square. Staff were extremely helpful and polite.
The hotel staff offer to meet guests at the station which is a welcome gesture. We made our own way there as we arrived early and the hotel stored our bags whilst we went out to explore before check-in.Excellent location and a very pleasant and comfortable stay. We had the junior suite on the 5th floor and this was fabulous - a huge balcony to sit and enjoy the views. Excellent, helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend
One of the great staff members met us at the train station and carted our bags to the hotel, as well as back to the train on the day of our departure...all of which is a nice touch. The front desk personnel were also charming and helpful The room was comfortable, although the view of neighboring rooftops was ugly. The "included" breakfast was bad: Eggs and sausages were cold, and the selection of other foodstuffs was poor. If you're not constrained by time in the morning, don't accept the hotel breakfast, go check out other nearby restaurants.
Very nice hotel with very friendly service. Very warm welcome when we arrived late night. The view from the balcony was amazing with noise from the river. The room and bathroom are big and comfortable.
We really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were spacious and nicely laid out and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was made to order and different fares offered daily. The location of the hotel is one of the best in town close to food, night life, bus stop MP and the beautiful river. The staff at this hotel were truly some of the best people I met in Peru. Each person our group interacted with for 3 days and 2 nights were kind, considerate and strived to assist us in every way possible. I highly recommend this hotel for small groups, family’s, solo travelers and couples. Some FYI notes: Notify the hotel of your train arrival time and someone will come and assist you with your luggage for the 5 min walk down hill - and always inform them the day before of your trains departure so someone can assist you back up hill to the train station. We requested river view rooms and were put on floor 3 - it was perfect THEY HAVE A WORKING LIFT!!…
