I’ve now been at this lovely hotel for two nights and due to the excellent experience I’ve had so far, I decided to extend my stay.

Upon arrival and after a warm and friendly welcome by Fatima-Zohra, Haji and Mohammed at the reception, I was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and very comfortable. Bed and pillows were of excellent standards.

The location of this hotel cannot be beaten: it’s right on the Outa Hammam Square, opposite the Kasba and less than two minutes walk to the market/shops in the Medina.

The hotel has a restaurant which is spread over several floors, overlooking the Kasba, offering superb views of both the Kasba and of the square. The breakfast served by the restaurant is delicious and quite generous portion-wise (a mixture of pastries, Moroccan bread, eggs to your liking, tea or coffee and choice of fresh juices).

I also dined at the restaurant, where I have been looked after very well by the delightful Abdilraheem who ensured that my dining experience was excellent and with whom I had nice conversations about the history of Chefchaouen. The food was of excellent quality and decently priced. Highly recommended!

Should you find yourself in Chefchaouen, then is Riad Hicham the place to stay.

First off we loved Chefchaouen, it was an enchanting city that must be on everyone's bucket list. It was a treat to be able to stay in a traditional Riad while in such an old city. Each room was uniquely decorated (we were a big group taking up almost the entire place so I saw almost every room on the property.) I particularly liked the vibe of my entirely pink room, called the Rose room if you wanted to ask for it my name. At times it could get a little stinky but I am told that this is pretty normal for the old buildings with old plumbing. Open a couple of windows and it was fine.
The staff at the restaurant were a particularly fun group. The hotel does not serve alcohol and the city itself is mostly dry but the waitstaff were able to go to another resultant in the area and pick up bottles of wine for our group which was going above and beyond our expectations!

Riad Hicham is just beautiful. Our room had a large, very comfortable double bed plus another single bed, which we used for our suitcases (so that he didn’t have to bend to the floor!). It also had a lounge in an entrance area, and a good-sized bathroom. Outside our door was a terrace with lounge chairs and a coffee table and a magnificent view of the town. From our room we could see the gorgeous main plaza (a one minute walk away) and the medieval Kasbah, which was a highlight. The staff were incredibly polite, positive and kind, and even carried our suitcases up the stairs for us! We ate both breakfast and lunch in the road’s restaurant, and both meals were very generous, delicious, and excellent value for money. We highly recommend Riad Hicham to anyone who wants a perfect stay in Chefchouen.

I stayed for 2 nights between Feb 16 & 18th, 2022. The location is excellent just in front of Uta el Haman square, the building is atmospheric and the staff members were friendly.

But the facilities and service were awful.
The toilet water was leaking and one bath towel was not enough to soak. Very dirty.
Toilet paper was supplied only after requesting twice.
TV was not fixed after requesting twice.
Hair dryer was out of order.
Credit card machine was out of order, it has been out of order for nearly 2 years they said.

I had breakfast (included) and lunch(not included) twice each at the restaurant.
Lunch: Food was tasty and the service by a black waiter was friendly.
Breakfast: No buffet as stated. Just bread, egg and drink. No condiment, I had to find by myself from a cupboard. I waited at the top (4th) floor at 8am. No staff appeared. At 8:20 I went down to reception only to be told that breakfast is served on the 2nd floor. They should have told me the night before.

This was the most expensive accommodation I stayed in Morocco during 25 days' trip, but the worst facility and service.

The hotel restaurant has a deal with tour guides. Meaning if your tour guide takes you here, he gets to eat for free but you get ripped off. We unfortunately realised too late. Our guide told us the whole menu would cost 120 MAD (starter, main, desert). We only got a main dish because he said that would be around 70-80 MAD. When we got the bill we were very surprised because they wanted us to pay 130 MAD each only for the main dish. Lied to, screwed over and scammed. We orginially wanted to go to a different restaurant but then they guide said it wasn't as good as the one he knew. Of course wr trusted him and his local knowledge so we went to this very expensive restaurant and got scammed. The name of the guide is Assad. Very very sad. The food is very good but this is not acceptable.

As soon as I walked up to the door, I knew I chose the right spot to stay the night in the Blue City. I was met with smiling faces, and they immediately took my bags and brought them inside for me. Checking in was smooth and easy, with Hazim making sure my travels were well and asking what I needed from them to make my night special.
They carried my bags to my room and let me get settled before dinner. When I walked into my room, my jaw dropped!! Room #2, Suite Beldi was absolutely gorgeous! The white and red theme was just beautiful and everything was so clean! The room was bigger than I was expecting, and the couch and mattress were both very comfortable. The bathroom had a blow dryer, shampoo, and soap for use. A robe was provided along with towels, so it was nice to just relax at night before bed.
I slept wonderfully and in the morning, Fatimzara greeted me with a smile, made sure my night was good, and asked if she could do anything for me.
After breakfast I checked out and went for a walk around the town, they knew I was going to Fes but watched my bags for me while I went and explored the Blue City.
The service here was outstanding!! The staff are such wonderful and welcoming people, that I definitely recommend this Riad and will most certainly stay here again!

The room was very cold and dirty Most importantly the staff were soooo rude They argued to not to accept our credit card because they want only cash to avoid tax. The old lady and guys at the front threatened us and even pushed us away. You will regret to stay Do not ever go to this hotel.

Riad Hicham is pretty easy to find, directly situated along the cities main square. You enter the Riad via the entrance of the Restaurant Hicham, which makes that both employees, restaurant guests and riad guests are entering along a narrow staircase. The surroundings inside Hicham are a little like a maze, but not in an annoying way.
We had a junior suite. Considering the fact that we had a suite, the room was pretty small. All the facilities were there (couch, tv, bed, bathroom, airco) but it was all packed into a very narrow space. No outside view and being within the environment of restaurant and riad, a little noisy at times, although we slept very well both nights.
The riad personell were very sweet and accomodating. The restaurant personell however, were hasty and felt uninterested. In 2 of 3 instances, sloppy even. 1 time waiting a very long time for the bill and a second time, an 8am breakfast start only starting around 8:10 with a yawning waiter taking our order and bringing the wrong order the first time.
Overall, location was great, spaciousness felt small and the combo of riad and restaurant in the same environment gave the experience a lack of the feeling of rest and serenity when coming back to your riad.

My friend and I went there for lunch. We wanted to order a fish plate but they told us all of the fish plates in the menu were finished and suggested a salmon dish that wasn’t on the menu, we said yes ( all dishes were between 60-90 dH). Our surprise when were charged 180 dH each/dish, we thought it was a mistake and they insisted that we didn’t ask the price before, that was truth but there was tuna and other fishes on the menu and none of them was more than 90Dh . It’s not about the money, I don’t like being scammed. I must say that the food was really nice and also the views, so it’s a shame that they treat us this way…
