Superb stay on our safari trip! The rooms are spotless and well equipped, the food is great and the location is breathtaking with view on a pond where wildlife regularly go! The outdoor pool is also the perfect spot for an afternoon plunge before a game drive. Would love to

We are currently at the lodge now and the staff is slow at the dining area, they insist on serving us soup but drag their feet and bring it at intervals meaning not everyone at the table is having soup and bread at the same time also it gets cold before the bread also comes. I

I certainly empathize regarding the points you mentioned during our discusion and we have brought this up to relevant team members. It is certainly not the practice we envision and service standards. After many years we came back to this lodge with big expectations, knowing about the take over by Serena. We found the place pretty much the same, which is not bad, but for the rates charged for the rooms, we definitely expected more. The staff in the dining area was not very

I have been to Kilaguni in the 1960s. It was always a popular place to stay on the way to or from Mombasa. 4 of us stayed here last month and loved it. It really is wonderful to see the animals come and go all day and night. Sometimes you can be tired from being on a car safari

Hello, Yes the trip is doable by road. Kilaguni is in Tsavo west while Satao is is Tsavo East and the two are only seperated by the main highway. as long as you have your map and ample time, this should not be a problem. Do let us know if you need anymore assistance or clarification.

Hello Bill, There is no way of knowing for sure how the weather will be, but it is expected to be hot with temperatures as high as 28 degrees during the day and 20 degrees at night. There are three ways of getting to Kilaguni. One by road to Mtito Andei where you branch off to the lodge the whole journey should be about 4-5hrs. You can also use the new Standard Gauge railway line to Mtito Andei and we will arrange for a car to pick you from the station on arrival. You can also fly into Tsavo and airstrip transfer will be provided. Animal viewing is usually very good as a myriad of animals stop by the watering whole through out the day and this can be enjoyed from your room or the common dining areas. One can also expect to see more animals while out on game drive.

this is late answer but if you are still alive you now know this hwy is what i call the "hwy of death" (Nairobi- Mumbasa Hwy). Has to be one of the most dangerous hwy in the world. traffic continuously passing and coming head-on to oncoming vehicles, which actually drive off the road to avoid one another. Mostly trucks. It's black top all the way down to turn-off to Kilaguni, then dirt for 1.5 hours

It depends on what kind of Sedan and whether you are going through any of the reserves en route. Your agent would be able to tell you that. Its best to use a four by four jeep vehicle. We had an actual jeep with windows an d a roof that can open for viewings. It was sturdy but still quite bumpy for us.

"Request Rooms in the upper floors."
"rooms nearest the main lodge are the best for viewing the animals."
"Upper floor rooms nearest reception give the best views of the waterhole..."
"Think most rooms have a view of the watering hole. We had interconnecting rooms."
"ask for a room closer to the waterhole - not the best option if you prefer being further from the main dining room"
