Let me start by saying I have been lucky enough to have traveled extensively throughout the world and stayed at some of the best and worst hotels over 5 of the 7 continents. The current situation with regard to Coronavirus has closed most hotels and resorts worldwide so I was obviously aprehensive to spend 10 nights at the Rixos Sharm El Shelkh.
However, from the moment you enter the resort it is clear Rixos is a premium quality brand that has embraced the additional care of their guests to protect them as far as possible from the current pandemic.
The resort has included the a la carte resturants to the all inclusive package which is a stroke of genius! It allows the guests to be socially distanced and relieves the pressure on the main resturant.
The standard of cleanliness, service and attitude of the staff projects a feeling of luxury, comfort and relaxation.
The resort is well maintained, rooms are well furnished and cleaned daily to an excellent standard, the cleaning staff throughout the resort are courteous and discreet. The facilities such as the pools, gym and spa are well maintained and fully staffed, likewise the numerous bars around the resort. The Lagoon Bar, run by Ramon and his team, make every day special, and the Sunset Bar on the beach is always a great place to be. The guests are ferried around the resort by a regular golf cart bus service which is amazing, Aladin is a driver I will never forget for his ability to make me smile just by asking if I wanted a lift.
The resturants are numerous and the food is excellent in all of them, the chefs work tirelessly to ensure a huge variety of dishes are available under the toughest circumstances due to the additional protection put in place as a result of the pandemic. The waiters and waitress's, particularly Ibrahim, are attentive and prove that nothing is too much trouble to ensure the guests are comfortable and have everthing they want.
The day and night time entertainment is excellent with pool fitness classes, darts and beach games in the day and a stunning musical show and DJ at night to finish your day. The entertainment staff and guest relations work tirelessly to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
In short, the resort has taken on an incredibly complex task in opening and implementing the protective measures required due to the current pandemic.
Their efforts are simply amazing and are an example to the hotel industry in general.
The Manager; Mr Sherif Kasseb, should be proud of his achievment, and the incredible team he has supporting him. They have truly managed to bring a little bit of normality back to an otherwise chaotic world.
Thank you to all at the Rixos, from Justin & Marina Room 8004.

This was our third successive visit to Rixos, the food and service was good, and our room was always kept spotless by our houseman, a bowl of fresh fruit was put in the room upon arrival, fridge also replenished daily. We didn't manage to get to eat in all the restaurants, the ones we chose were excellent, back next year to try the rest!
The beach was a great place to sun bath, good sun beds, waited on by Islam who never seemed to stop serving drinks all day. The pools were well looked after and spotless, gardens and grounds were well kept by several gardeners. The waiters during all meals were all very attentive, making sure coffee and tea was always topped up, clean napkins for every table replaced after previous user. Will be back for sure!

It was great that the possibility of returning to Sharm after so many years away due to various matters has now arisen. The last place in Sharm we visited was the Rixos, it was so great that we really wanted to return. We were not disappointed, the hotel rooms did show their age in some parts but were nevertheless impeccably cleaned. The room was maintained this time by Ali who did a superb job with the customary towel art that was well received.

The food was excellent and could not be faulted the main restaurant and the al la carte were simply superb. The staff and locals were very happy to see English return.

Covid precautions were excellent staff all vaccinated, wearing masks and were noticeable hand washing and sanitising. We chose to eat outside.

Entertainment seemed to be popular we do not do late nights so we cant comment.

The pools were wonderfully maintained, a good outcome of the Covid restrictions was no towel card which gave permission for those wanting to hog best spots and go out had their towels removed and there was a good rotation for all guests of different spots.

We tried bar meals and drinks and the service given again by a faithful few attendents were excellent there was no waiting the skills of the waiters and barman multi lingual and memories which were astounding remembering guests their likes and dislikes.

There was a good number of russian guests that didn't tend to mingle but the other Baltic states were keen to have a conversation and share quite in depth conversations which was lovely., I was embarrassed at my lack of lingual skills and the abilities of other nationalities.

We had a minor issue with one of the shops trying to take advantage with prices, the shop worker was told my opinion and we chose to shop at Rixos Seagate and shopping mall opposite which was excellent.
The shuttle runs regularly to Rixos Seagate which was the family version of Rixos a superb complex.

The bad...... The Airport

What a disorganised shambles. Leaving we and other passengers were left queuing for in our case 2 and half hours. The luggage conveyor had an issue which magnified a very poor system. A terrible intercom so you cant here what comes over the tanoy, workers just screaming in large rooms you couldn't hear, the tension was absolutely terrible we had no chance even for a sit down toilet etc. Then officers were letting people out of the gates and back in without any search it was calamitous and open to abuse at all levels.

We missed our holidays at the Rixos due to no direct flights from the UK but when we learned that Enterair were doing direct flights we booked on the second flight out we were picked up from airport with company car and arrived at the hotel to be met by many of staff and management witch was a loverly touch. We were upgraded to a deluxe room but we love it down by the quiet pool so they arranged that straight away we put our cases in the room then went out to see if we could see any staff we knew . It was like we had never been away there have been a few changes all for the better. the food in the palm food court has gone up in standards and it was good before. We tried the Brazilian restaurant wow wow wow food is unbelievable staff are amazing my glass never emptied it’s amazing we tried the Indian that was also a wow place to eat as good as any British Indian I’ve tasted staff once again amazing . The Chinese restaurant food amazing staff very attentive. We ate at the fish restaurant in the day amazing not sure what it’s like in the night as we went back to the Brazilian again. The entertainment has vastly improved staff down beach club really friendly all ways checking your drink is not empty the staff in the old reception amazing . Bar staff up in the new reception are a credit to the Rixos I must say all staff I met from the people in the spar to the security guards were very polite always said good morning. The men on the hotel shuttle were so funny really made you feel special. We were shown the Rixos seagate I have to say I was disappointed in the manner we were given a tour we went there 6 years ago before it was finished we asked if we could see the rooms like we did before we was told no we asked if they had and literature / brochures and was told no I explained we had been there before and the had finished this and that and was told it was all here it was just taken over from another hotel which I knew new buildings had been built . Any way we walked back to the Rixos as we were very disappointed. Back to the real hotel every one all friends we met again from years ago help make this hotel a cut above the rest. Only one gripe no real hotel reward scheme as now it’s with accord and you have to book thru them for a discount witch is still more money than we can book thru British holiday company’s
Butty the hotel from management to grounds men amazing and last but not least our room man could not do enough for us. Thank you all and see you in June for nine nights

I’ve visited many hotels in my life, but this is the most memorable one. Every thing there is just perfect except for little things that bothered me a little bit. These things are:
1. The seashore is full of rocks and no one can swim in the sea due to the hard rocks especially the children, however we went snorkeling and it was so beautiful.
2. The night show isn’t good at all, especially for Egyptians (they won’t enjoy it at all).
3. The room service is extremely slow. I called them to ask for tissues and I waited about an hour just to bring me some tissues which should be already put while cleaning up the suite.
4. The last day of my residence they didn’t put anything in the bathroom like (shampoo, shower jell, conditioner) however they were empty.
5. The people who makeup my suite never throw out the empty containers of the shower jell, shampoo, and conditioner.
6. The aqua park in the hotel (Rixos Sharm) is very small, there is only three typical slides for babies and another three for children. There is another aqua park in Rixos Seagate, which you have to reserve for it (for free) and take a club car (shuttle bus) which comes and leaves at certain times to go and return back from it which takes about ten minutes to go and another ten minutes to return back.
On the other hand, there’re many activities to do throughout the day d’or children and adults, there are many restaurants to have dinner at rather than the main restaurant (but you have to reserve for them first), the people there are so cooperative, the food is so good, and the service is good too.

Overall we had a nice experience with Rixos resort having in mind that It was the place where we spent the whole week( except one day when we had a tour by Plane to Luxor).
We booked Junior Suite sea view but we had a balcony to the inner part of the resort, towards the shows scene, very noisy every evening till midnight. Otherwise, the room was large, very clean and with a huge bathroom and with a separate large wardrobe room, very useful. In January over the night and morning is cold and we needed to use All the time the air conditioning on heat; the installation is quite noisy but efficient.
The beach is sandy but with not so comfortable chairs. Keep in mind that you can not swim than on the end of pontoon bridge that is 100 m far from the shore ( all Sharm el Sheik shore is the coral reef); there is quite crowded with people making snorkeling and the water is very deep ( if windy Could be dangerous ). It worths to try diving, that we did, in the afternoon when the sea is warmer ( the under water landscape is really amazing).
We Could have sun bathing between 9,30 and 4 pm with temperatures 21-22 c, except one very windy day when It was really cold.
We enjoyed having the choise for 6 dinner restaurants a la carte, out of which the Argentinian one was the best for us( we had to book one day in advance for getting places). We were a little disapointted the first evening when arriving to the hotel about 9 pm, we could not have Any dinner after a long day trip (9,30 pm All restaurants are closed and there is only one for late dinner that opens 11 pm). The last day It was my birthday and I expected nothing more than a late check out (2h) free but nobody took into consideration. Otherwise, management reception Kind.

We have previously holidayed in Sharm over a period of 10 years, but this is our first stay at Rixos Adults Only and it most certainly lived up to all our expectations.

After checking in, which was very efficient, we were taken by golf buggy to our room on the ground floor in block 3. Our room was large and airy, with lovely decor, plenty of wardrobe space, with gowns and slippers provided and there was a nice range of complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, which had a bath and walk-in shower.
It is a vast complex set in beautiful grounds and gardens with plenty of pools to choose from, which felt overwhelming on our arrival late in the evening, but in the light of day you very soon get your bearings and it is really easy to get to anywhere on the complex with a golf buggy service running frequently, there are bus stops for these but you can flag them down pretty much at any point.

There are 8 restaurants plus the main buffet. The main buffet restaurant always has a great variety of dishes, a lovely touch is the live musicians playing in the background at all meal times. The only things I think could be improved on is a more detailed signage for vegetarian, dishes, as our son who is vegetarian found this misleading and a better organised system at the egg station of a morning, which gets quite chaotic with people coming at all directions trying to order their eggs. The manager, Mohammed, was a charming gentleman and always welcoming and helpful and greeted us every time we saw him, as did all the other waiting staff. Unfortunately, we don't know all their names but we do remember Hassan, who during our first week was working at the beach pizza eatery and then moved up to the main buffet restaurant cooking the pizzas etc, he was a funny and lovely guy. Of all the 8 speciality restaurants, unfortunately there were only 2 we didn't manage to get to, which was the sushi and BBQ (The Mangal) but all the themed restaurants had lovely decor, amazing authentic food and the hard-working staff were great.

There was always some evening entertainment, the shows were very good, followed by DJs playing quite loud clubby music and the beach bar was always popular for after dinner drinks but there are other quieter bars to choose from.

The life guards are working hard from early in the morning at the beach keeping it clean and providing towels and finding sun beds for guests and there is always complimentary bottles of water in fridges plus the beach bar itself for drinks.
It was really helpful when going home to be able to pay to keep your room on when so many English flights are late at night and enables you to enjoy your last full day.

The Rixos is a beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds, maintained by the team of hard working gardeners.
We were so impressed and loved it so much we have already booked to return next June and look forward to seeing everyone there.

My wife and I spent two weeks at the Rixos Sharm el Sheikh to enjoy some scuba diving and relaxing in the resort. The hotel area is absolutely beautiful with several pools and buildings grouped around it. The architecture and the gardens are really nice and give the impression of a natural oasis. You will find romantic corners without much disturbance as well as a vibrant main pool area with animation and cool music.

The beach is very large and we always found a shady place (note that the hotel was far from fully booked). Both at the pool area and the beach, you get frequent service with refreshments and some snacks. The pool bars and the beach bar offers hot food all day around. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive and always responds to your wishes. It has to be noted though, that the beach is next to a reef top and you cannot swim directly from the beach but have to walk around 100m on the jetty to get into the open ocean (not a problem at all, but not convenient if you like to lounge around in shallow waters).

The main restaurant offers a huge variety of food at the buffet but we didn’t enjoy the atmosphere there. We preferred one of the 7 themed restaurants which are very nicely designed, offer a great service and the foot is really good. You can book the restaurant reserverations yourself via an online tool or via the (always extremely helpful) guest relations desk (thanks in particular to Aleksandra).

Every evening the entertainment team organizes different shows (repeating every week) and live DJs provide the right atmosphere to finish the day.

The COVID measures were sensitive but not distracting at all. All staff was vaccinated and wore masks and you had hand sanitizers provided at many places. Otherwise, not much impact to enjoy your vacation.

Overall, our stay was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed every day. What can be improved? The hotel uses far too much plastic (cups, water bottles, packaging for lunch boxes, etc.) We were told, that this is related to COVID measures, but I am sure that there are other means to comply with it. Why do you get for instance two plastic cups together with your water bottle or why do you seal a banana in plastic for the lunch box? It would also be nice to get refillable water bottles and refill stations. Another point that should be improved is the stability of the WiFi. Though, everywhere available, the speed and reliability was not always satisfactory.

I can highly recommend Rixos if you look for a stress free, relaxing vacation as a couple.

Once we arrived at the Rixos Sharm El Sheikh we were greeted by an opulent reception and hospitality that would only be examples . With our usual holiday head we were taken to our room on electric buggies. Through the beautifully manicured garden and the splendid Christmas light displays we reach our rooms in the darkness. The rooms were perfectly laid out and were renewed daily with care and attention to detail. The restaurants ranged from the perfect selection of world foods from a buffet set to the masterful Brazilian, Turkish and Sea food dinning on the beach. Everything was perfect diving off the jetty to watch the fish on the reef to late night performances of west end quality. So far this is in fairness what you would expect from a hotel on this budget. However what made it special for me was the level of service from every member of staff. The real authentic love that was given to your needs. From bar staff to chefs talking and sharing their passions, to pool side bringing flowers to the table. Every member of staff unfortunately for them wore masks but every time you engaged with them their eyes lite with pleasure to see you and a generosity to look after you. Thank you for all the pleasures holiday could bring. 🙏

I’ve been in Sharm 10 times and this was one of the best hotels so far. Rooms are nice, food is great and what’s really great - the staff. The whole staff starting from the guy that cleans the rooms or the ones that work in the bar or restaurant, they are all with a great attitude, helpful and easy going and they seem to love what they do.
