Stay at the Epidaurus for 10 nights as an all inclusive holiday. The first impression on arriving at the hotel is it is very clean and tidy. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when booking into reception. The hotels charge a tourist tax which depends on the star rating will depend on how much this tax costs. The room we was allocated was very clean and plesent. The bed was comfortable and the room had a small TV on the wall, a small refrigerator, a free safe and the air conditioning was operating after the second day in the room which it needed to be as these rooms are very hot at night. There was quite a lot of storage space to put clothing. Housekeeping called and cleaned nearly every day and during the 10 days the bedding was changed 3 times and the towels were changed every 2 to 3 days. The bathroom was very small with a shower, wc and a sink with a little shelve under this. This room did not come with a balcony, but the view was over a roof looking over the adriatic sea towards Debrovnick which was ok. The food hall was very clean and the food was quite repetitive. Breakfast was very good with continental breakfast, cereals, boiled eggs, scrambled egg, bacon, sausage and other items to eat. Lunch and evening meals were very average. Butter was only put out at breakfast which they could have put this out at all meals. During the lunch and evening meal there was a selection of salad which could have done with a small cold meat selection as not everyone wants a hot meal. There was also a selection of ice cream, sweets and fruit during lunchtime and evening meals. The bars were opened from 10am which was the pool bar and tend to close around 6pm and the lounge bar was opened from 6pm and served drinks until 11pm. The entertainment was a let down for the English as most of the entertainment and activities was aimed at the French and was alway in French, but you could attend the shows, but as said was all in French. All in all the hotel was clean and all the staff very friendly and the room was adequate and if they sorted out the minor problems of food repetitive and a cold meat selection during lunch and evening meals in the restaurant and also the entertainment and activities for the English, this would be a great hotel.

This hotel's location is EXCELLENT. You can walk to Cavtat with its beautiful scenery and the hotel beach is stunning. We got a water taxi to Dubrovnik (£20 for 4) and an Uber back (about £18 for 4 of us). Both Cavtat and Dubrovnik are gorgeous.

We went to a candlelight concert in the Franciscan monastery in Cavtat which is on several nights a week and this was a lovely, unique experience

Staff were pleasant and there are lots of nationalities who use the hotel and most people speak excellent English which should not be an automatic assumption.

We were too early for check-in when we arrived (it is 2pm) so we went to enjoy lunch and explore while we waited.

There is a wide choice of food at every meal- always lots of healthy salads and fruit. It's hard to sit outside to eat due to the wasps but that's nature for you.

I was up at 6 a.m. and the staff were cleaning the pool/eating area thoroughly in preparation for the day.

We always found sunbeds for all four of us no matter what time of day.

The air-conditioning situation is not great but you could always take a very short walk to cool down in the sea or the pool.

If you look for negatives you'll find them but if you take the positive you'll have a great holiday in a beautiful location.

I cannot believe some of the mean reviews here, very unfair in my opinion. For a 3 star hotel it was better than we expected. We stayed all inclusive for a week and didn't want to leave.

We had the garden view room which was a bit small but nice, we had everything there we needed. The beds were super comfortable. Cleaning was to a good standard, including linen change and fresh towels. You can also get your clothes washed and ironed for a small fee.

Restaurant was nice, the food was great for a 3 star hotel! Good spread for breakfast from cereal and yogurts to cheeses and cooked food. Always a variety of fresh salads and fruit. Lnches and dinners were nowhere near repetitive as some of other 3 star hotels I stayed in, there was always something new as opposed to revamping lunch leftovers for dinners. And plentiful to the end of serving hours. We thought we would be eating out a lot more than we actually did, it was not boring and the pizzas were very addictive.

In all honesty drinks could have been better, the soft drinks were very sugary which made cocktails not great. Beer and wine good. I would have much preferred paper cups for pool side as the amount of plastic I have seen disposed of was bad and there was no recycling bins.

Overall the atmosphere in the hotel was very pleasant although the animation was mostly for French speaking guests. They were still pretty inclusive if you wanted to join in. All staff were working hard, very helpful and friendly.

There are two smallish pools. The picture of the main pool must have been taken with an estate agent camera lens but hey, the beach is a few metres away and the sea is very clean. Sea shoes are a must as there are a lot of urchins.

Location is perfect, pleasant stroll to Cavtat which has lovely restaurants and it's significantly cheaper there than Dubrovnik. There are regular boat trips to Dubrovnik as well as bus service. I would also recommend the boat trip to Blue Caves or the 3 islands one.

Would I go back? It's a big fat YES from me. Thank you for a fabulous holiday.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for one week. Booked through TUI, all inclusive.
Honestly, please spend that little bit extra and stay somewhere else. The hotel is really jaded and run down. Really needs some attention. If you do decide to stay here, don't go for all inclusive. We ended up eating out in Cavtat every night, the food is so cheap and amazing!
Anyway, the drinks at the hotel are vile, the only drink we found drinkable was the water. The fruit juices are pure sugar, and the wine and beer are not worth trying. We ended up buying our own mixer from the shop (diet coke etc) to have with the spirits.
The food was disgusting and using really cheap cuts of meat. Found insects in the salads. And once tried the asparagus soup, pretty sure someone dropped a fag in there because it tasted like I was eating a cigarette butt.
We also had issues with our air con unit not working before bed, sleeping in that heat isn't comfortable. We informed that staff at reception, really helpful the response we got was "just open the window, you'll be okay" I'm sorry but if you pay for a service you should receive it, and no effort at all trying to fix it.
Cleanliness not great especially in the bathroom where it should be spot on, found grey hairs in our towels that weren't ours! Gross.
The only good thing going for this hotel is the location, and the seaside walk to the local town which is 10mins walk away. That's about it. Just stay somewhere else please.

Firstly when we adrived and checked in we had to wait from 11am till 2pm for us to go to the room.we paid for a superiour double room with sea view. We got to the room and it had 4 single beds all side by side in a row, it was like a bedsit we complai ed and the moved 2 of the beds but left us with no pillows so had to roll bedding up and use that. The room was really dirty there were mosquitos sqwasged on walls and blood wiped on walls there were no English channels on the tv but jet 2 highlighted o n.the adv ert satillite tv. The AC didnt work so the room was 28degrees we asked bout this at re eption they said there nothing they can do the fridge also was only Lyslightly cool they said its not a fridve its a cooler and should. BE like that
The restaurant was dirty. Nobody wore mask but was said on line in restaurant you had to till you were seated then the tables and chairs were so dirty. And the staff when cleading a table didnt wipe them just got rid of paper mat and put New down with cutlery. No AC in the restaurants or receptionist aswell. No activitys we wsited 4 hours to use 1 table tennis and people and Kids were cueing to use after the hole hotel was run down and smelly you could get near the water for Everyone that had left dirty towels on the recliners we triwd to book tennis for 2 days but recetio. Staff didnt k ow how to ad ise us to do this do we had to do it though fb. We have been here for 5 days now and can report that the rooms are clean, the air con now works but had to complain and Complain as was told nothing they can do but the room was 33 degrees at night, eventually they sent some one to look at it and after cleaning it out, it worked and is now 22 degrees.
The location is beautiful and the bay it over looks is full of 80 million pound super Yachts so you know it is nice.
Now the very bad part, the food, from breakfast to evening meal, nothing is cooked right, it is all over cooked or under cooked and the ingredients are the cheapest possible, I don't expect the same quality as the restaurants in the local town but the scrambled eggs don't even taste like eggs and it's funny watching new people get a big plate of scrambled eggs in the morning and then the look on their face when they taste them, they have a big twin pizza oven which for some unknown reason is not operating , it is hard to understand how they can cock up food that badly, even the chips are under cooked and like mush, it is such a shame, like most people we walk in to the local town at night to get a decent meal.
In the last couple of days 2 gentle men have appeared dressed in black who seem to be trying to put some standards back to the hotel and appear to be organising the staff so I just hope they turn their attention to the food and may be get more cooking stations operating as well as the Pizza ovens in the my last week.
Overall the location is beautiful, the drinks are just about passable the rooms are fairly tidy and clean but the food is dreadful, if you are coming here save the money and book room only then walk into the town for a gastro treat.

Everything writen before is correct but however let me add some more experience for this destination and hotel.
We trusted Slowenian tourist agency Palma without reading a rewiev on Trip adviser. BIG MISTAKE!
We came here and it looked like totaly different hotel as on pictures and as a presentation they gave us in agency.
Our room was B120 almost like in basemnet, without any view (pictures attached), room had a stinky smell and it was sooooo small that we could not fit all 4 of us in with laugage.

We have a doughter 10 years old and a son 15 years old and the bunk beds were 160 cm so my son could not sleep in it because he's 190 cm. And nobody told us that. So we had to move mattres on the floor.

Food is terrible, like in public kitchen, whole hotel is dirty, no air condition in loby and dinning room. Terrace in loby was dirty all the time, also holls. On dinning terrace there were so many bee's and whole terrace was never cleaned, chairs was dirty from birds pup and nobady was cleaning them. Stuff was rude. Receptionist was only able to say "scan QR code and you'll find ourlt everything".

And the beach!!!! Not even close like on picture. No one cleans beach. Hotel uses mostely plastic cup and those are everywhere. Beach has no small beables but it has big stones and rocks and most of the beach is from concret. It is hadly to go into the water because of big stones. There were so many French guests and all animations are in french on loud speaker so whole day you are listening yealing. Also there are lot of small boats on the beach and around and water scooters to rent so there os no quiet day at all.
Because airport is only few km ahead all the time airplanes are landing and departure almoste above your head so if you plan a quiet vacation here is not possible.

We booked 9 days but after 7 days we have left this "stunning" hotel. Most of the people from all over I talked to here were realy, realy dissapointed.

However small town Cavtat is nice and old city Dubrovnik is incredible, but very expensive and crowded.

Just got back from Hotel Epidaurus. After reading some reviews we were a bit hesitant but we need not of been.

We booked a superior sea view room and are so glad we did, we were given a room on the top floor and the views are just stunning looking out in to Cavtat bay.

The room is modern was fairly spacious with so much storage which isn't always the case the twin beds were extremely comfortable they were more like small doubles than singles. We asked for an extra pillow and a firmer one as only one was provided which was very soft We had a problem with the air con and safe but they were soon sorted. The balcony has a table and chairs but one side is not private from the next door room, which is odd and not great if you just want peace and privacy. But the views are just amazing and the sunsets breathtaking.

The hotel is modern and our room was very clean which seems to come up in some reviews. Our room was cleaned daily and the hotel was always clean.

The food. It is of great quality and tasted nice, but it is just the choice and variety. It mainly stayed the same every day even from lunch to dinner it barely changed. We have stayed in AI hotels many times before and this restaurant probably offered the least choice and variety.
The drinks are hit and miss some ok others not. The wine and beer was good, we didn't try the spirits or cocktails. Some of the soft drinks were not nice especially the cola and lemonade. The juice is fine.
There is a fantastic terrace for meals and drinks overlooking the bay and beach. We were pleased that breakfast started early at 6am as one day we had an early start for a trip, it would be nice if it ended a bit later maybe continental till 11am even 10.30, so you can have a lie in, then lunch later 1 to 3 rather than 12 to 2, some cooked mushrooms and tomato would be nice at breakfast. The restaurant never got too busy and there was always plenty of places to sit both in and out.

We are not interested in entertainment but it is mainly aimed at the many french guests.

We found it strange the pool bar closed at 6 pm most evenings and the restaurant at 9pm so if you wanted a drink the only place was near reception with not much seating instead of the wonderful outside terrace.

There are 3 pools and lots of sun beds right by the beach.

The staff were always helpful and pleasant.

Cavtat is a wonderful place so beautiful with a lovely promenade and a 15 minute walk to the centre from the hotel with a few bars, shops and restaurants on the way. The centre is fantastic with 2 harbours some bars, many restaurants and shops.

There is a boat taxi to Dubrovnik just 5 minutes away.

Would give 5/5 overall
4/5 food

Would definitely recommend this hotel and especially its location and Cavtat.

The other recent reviews are correct!

This hotel is a shambles. They are way understaffed and the hotel is dangerous. Food is diabolical, I feed my dog on better food than they were serving. Drinks are bad also. The coke tastes like watered down rola cola. The canteen is dirty if somethings spilled they just chuck a towel down on the floor and dont bother clearing up. There is no ac in the canteen and doors are left open, so there is flys and wasps in there. There is also no childrens option.

The rooms the ac doesnt go below 26.5c views if on garden side are disgusting.

The pool area doesnt get cleaned. There is green sludge from where the shower drips and it is very slippy. Its a 30 minute job to hose down around the pool area which noone done the whole week we were there. Nothing is cleaned up day to day so people just leave there towels down and reserve the same sunbed day to day. Plastic cups, plates with food on and cigarette ends litter the pool area. The pool has green slime at the bottom and isnt cleaned properly.

The entertainment team is french. The french guests have red wrist bands and everyone else gets left out! The kids entertainment is none existent, this is the main reason we booked this holiday to enjoy some time away with our kids 6 and 10 and they were left out which fills me full of hatred towards this hotel.

The hotel staff are ignorant and very unhelpful

We spent our days at the beach and ate out at pretty much every meal time spending in excess of £1200. We requested to move hotels on our second day to which we were just left stranded as there was nothing else available.

We will be claiming all our money back plus expenses.

This hotel could be so much better! The location is stunning

If you want to see how fawlty towers was filmed come here!! 5 hours to wait to check in. No air con in the main hotel at all. Got to our room, toilet seat fell off, opened bathroom door, door handle came off, opened curtains skirting board is hanging off. The air con in the room is non existent. Food is shocking. Nothing aimed at children apart from chicken nuggets at the snack bar. We ate out every night and will be claiming expenses back. We were offered another hotel 3 days into our stay for an extra £1000 plus tax and it would be a down grade.
We paid extra for a superior double room with a sea view, if you stand up whilst on the balcony it’s a beautiful view, sit down and you have corrugated roofing plastic as your view!!!!
Our room wasn’t cleaned for 2 days, still waiting for hand soap for the bathroom. The hand spray was left empty outside the lift on our 2nd floor for 2 days, people’s dirty pots were left for 24 hours outside the lift.
This hotel has so much potential but doesn’t live up to the filtered pictures that are advertised. The location is great and so is the shower in the room.
The drinks are watered down massively, no snacks available when the restaurant is closed. Ice cream should be available for the children.
The entertainment is for the French guests, the staff go round looking for the French and ignore the English.
I could go on but I’m going to walk to the downstairs to the outside bar to enjoy a watered down roll cola :)
