Terrible hostel. So dirty, in a "peace favela" where has people with arms in the street. So dirty, bed uncomfortable, rooms with smeel to Pis because the bathroom is inside the room and they never clean. Kitchen impossible to use, so many dirty, so many things everywhere. Bad experience.

This is the place to be if you want an authentic experience. You will stay in a unique hostel in a very cool favela don’t expect or want 5 star shiny spacious rooms, but do expect something completely different that will ad a new dimension to your brasil trip You will live in a favela which is totally safe but still shows how daily live is and can be in a favela. Pablo and Wilma will do everything possible to make you feel at home and tell you were to go and or party. Good change that Pablo will join at some point (if you would like that) We had the best time in rio and later during carnival with him and his friends This is one of those hostels were it is impossible NOT to make new friends For sure a experience that I will never forget !! mitch

If you want to experience a favela and feel the culture, this is perfect. I had a short stay with some friends and Pablo met us as we arrived an was incredibly friendly. The rooms are basic but has everything you need. Kitchen has most things you need. Beautiful views of the favela and beach. A quirky roof space to chill too. The staff and volunteers are fab. Very Happy to advise on places to see. Pablo and the volunteer took us on a walk through the favela to a beautiful viewing point at the top of the hill. Amazing views and wildlife on the way. Its a protected area too. Always Happy to answer questions. You do have to remember your staying in a favela, but even with some events being heard in the hostel, I I'd not feel unsafe at all. Pablo also had a BBQ and drinks one night and the food was beautiful. Overall the place is basic but has everything you need. Friendly staff. Speak good English. Beautiful views. Perfect place to chill!

Stayed here for a few nights with a group of friends. Superb location, 5 minutes from copacabana. Pablo, his family and friends were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. Put us at ease regarding any safety issues. Never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe (you have to remember this is a favela). Would always recommend this hostel. Again thank you Pablo

No matter how experienced you are travelling, the family and staff at this hostel will make you feel so incredibly comfortable. Located in what I came to find out was the 'touristy' favela (meaning much safer), it has the most amazing view of Copacabana beach, and most mornings we woke up feeding monkeys on the balcony. A special mention goes to Pablo and Wilma, who run the hostel, they constantly showed us new places to go, places to eat and drink, and places to drink on the odd occasion! We were robbed whilst in Rio (our own fault for leaving our things aside), and the guys at the hostel helped us in any way possible - couldn't say a bad word about it!
