All I can say is we have different standards to Australia for 4 star including cleanliness, service and an overall experience. The place was ok, breakfast was good but don’t pay for an upgrade to see Copacabana beach, you cannot see, the wifi is poor. The rooms with a city view are newer and nicer. Staff are not helpful and tell you they will fix the wifi when they don’t even try

Hotel reception is nice and modern and staff are nice and pleasant but it needs a lot of work. Our room alone had over 6 repairs needed.. the gas cooker was leaking gas and so dangerous and don’t understand why they have it as no pots and pans and utensils in room? No electric kettle to make tea. The bed is nice and comfy and clean towels. Pool is small as is the gym. Breakfast is nice but buffet style. I choose this hotel for its name but this hotel bring the company to shame... old shower and dirty and really needs to be refurbished. Great location and lovely people. Staff are helpful and speak English. The price should be cheaper for the standards of the hotel.. I’d rate it as a 2/3 star hotel.

Don’t waste your money here. Very old and run down building, they really need to renovate everything. Also, it seems that only the front desk know how to speak English. Call room service, restaurant, bellman and you’ll have to use google translate. The restaurant has meager offerings for breakfast. We ate dinner here and was told half the stuff on the menu was unavailable. So we asked our waitress what IS available. She pointed out a few things and we said yes to that. Only for her to come back and say they’re actually not available and they just have pizza. So we said yes to pizza. WORST pizza ever. Clearly stale bread and was barely even warm. The next day we ordered room service and it was the hardest conversation ever. All I wanted was a sandwich and he didn’t seem to understand even when I tried saying it in Portuguese, reading off the menu. Finally the man on the phone said “ma’am call front desk and you tell them and they tell me” and hung up. I was furious but did as he said.

This hotel has great location , close to the beach with nice view , in addition to that the restaurant have a nice outdoor terrace.. so you can relax and have your food in open area . The front desk team are externally helpful and welcoming .. special thanks to Ms Daniela Almeida and Ms Rosimar R Galdino . for their warm welcome , great help during the whole stay . The rooms are spacious and clean and housekeeping team are good .. the hotel is under renovation and i am sure it will be much better soon . Recognition and Honor for L-Accor members 8 /10 Very Good

This hotel is across the road from the world famous Copacabana Beach. It is very well situated from this point of view. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and we were checked in easily. The bedrooms are very small and there is not much space at all. The furnishing was also a little tired but it appears that a major facelift and renovation is about to take place. Breakfasts were standard Brazilian fare with lots of cakes and pastries and some highly processed meats and cheeses. There seemed to be some issue with housekeeping not keeping an aye out for the "make up room"sign and on two occasions we got back in the afternoon to find our room had not been made up. All in all I would stay here again because of its location.
