The staff were nice is about it. The pics of the hotel online must of been from years ago. The room and hallway on the 12th floor smelled bad and mildewy. The room was dirty and looked like a hostel. Our towels were dirty, bedsheets dirty and old. Housekeeping had an old shopping cart they just left out in the hallway. The pool was the size of a large bathtub basically.
Loved staying at this hotel. It's located in Lapa, which is close to the Selaron Stairs and Lapas Arches, in a very vibrant part of town. While it is further from main attractions like the Christ statue and Copacabana beach, it's a super easy commute via bus and metro. It's a basic hotel, nothing fancy, but the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Clean, super affordable, and comes with breakfast.
this hotel was ok really just too far from the metro to be convenient - about a 20-30 minute walk away and at night the metro station feels a lot further than it really is For £20 + a night it was as expected though. The room was basic but clean with a fridge and a tv in it. The bed wasn't brilliant but ok for a couple of nights. The room was painted an awful shade of peach with industrial grey paintwork which just made it quite depressing. The bathroom was dreadful and probably was last decorated in 1970. although it did have a good supply of hot water. The shower cubical was so small it was difficult to get in it. I had my showers with the door open as there wasn't room to close it once you were inside! the showerhead needed cleaning too as when you showered there was no option but to get your hair wet whether you wanted to or not as the squirts went everywhere. Breakfast was brilliant and was the only thing that made us stay here longer than we had intended. It was good to hear the cook singing away in the kitchen too. The dining room was very dreary though with more 1970's industrial grade furniture but you can see they had attempted to brighten it up with some plastic flowers. Which were all dirty! All the staff here are really lovely and made us feel welcome and it seems to be a really popular place as they were always busy. Overall though, this is a really depressing place. Not cheery or a nice place to hang out at all but it is a good price and it's clean. Remember you get what you pay for.…
First the location is at the heart of Lapa which is very ideal if you like to go out and get drunk, unfortunately not me. The hotel: nah! Its a very old and the elevator is also a bit scary, food is so so. But the staff are very friendly and helpful..
The lokacion is excellent. Near Arcos the Lapa and Sambadrome since we were there at the time od Rio's karneval. Good connection with metro and buses. It is located in the town centre but 10 monutes drive by metro to the Copacabana. The breakfast and the service in hotel were OK. On the top flour there is a swiming pool and souna but no gym.
