I was traveling solo to South America and finished my trip at The Ecopark. It was amazing! My stay was from a Tuesday evening to Friday morning. I would compare it to summer camp with the way they have your stay set up. They plan out the excursions for you so you don't have to worry about it. Meals are served at certain times that coordinate with the excursions. They have several guides that speak multiple languages so understanding everything was easy for all guests. The tours gave guest a good look at all aspects of the Amazon. From an easy hike through the jungle, to learning about the monkey's and seeing the meeting of the waters. The location was amazing. It was about a 20 minute boat ride from one of the marina's in Manaus and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. It was great. Many may complain that there was no wifi in the rooms, but YOU ARE IN THE AMAZON! You don't need the wifi for a few days. There was some cell service if you needed to send a text or make a phone call. The food was good and they had some vegetarian options as well as good ole pizza and french fries (chips for non-Americans) The staff overall was very friendly and helpful. If you have limited mobility, it might be difficult because there is a lot of getting in and out of boats since there are no roads for vehicles. Great thing is there are no mosquitos along the Rio Negro because of the pH levels. There are no tv's in the room but there is a pool table in the bar area, books to read in several different languages, a sloth house (hammocks and lounge chairs), and a chess board to occupy your time. I would highly recommend this for solo travelers and families to get a great first experience in the Amazon.…
We visited Amazon Echo Park for 5 days with our 10 year old granddaughter. It was an outstanding experience for all! The parks communication was excellent they met us at airport & transported us to hotel-everyone was very polite & helpful.Room was very clean, air conditioning, beds comfortable. Meals excellent very tasteful! All excursions were well planned , our guide Moses was very knowledgeable & fun! Highly recommend additional packages-going through floating jungle & swimming with porpoises a must! We will never forget our adventures in the Amazon & are grateful for the gracious hosts that made this trip memorable-Sincerely Andy, Wendy & Alexis…
This place had the feel of both an upmarket resort, though in a very shabby chic way. The beach was a great bonus with wonderfully warm water even in winter. (Apparently, their guests have never been attacked by piranhas nor alligators, which was a fear of mine). The food was above average, though a little repetitive at times. The guides were very patient and humourous, and gave us a wonderful experience of the amazon without going full Bear Grylls ! The rooms are respectable enough and the aircon is definitely a must in the heat and humidity. Most trips are included, but there are a few extras. We took the meeting of the 2 rivers one. Not sure it was worth a 3 hour journey out. However if you opt for the speedboat return, though just as long, at least you get to experience Amazon villages along the way. For anyone with a young family wanting a taster of the Amazon (withouth being too in depth, but sufficiently immersed in the experience), this was definitely a great place to stay. …
The good points and I think its always worth pointing out the good. The location is lovely. The staff are friendly. Good system for keeping your stuff safe at a safe deposit section as there is no safe in the room. Breakfast was lovely with the visits from the parrots. Trips are good but a little limited. No mosquitos The things you need to be aware off if you have limited mobility there is lots of getting in and out of boats. Steep ramp from the water to reception and also quite a steep incline to the restaurant and the rooms. Out guide was good apart from he didn’t understand that one of our party had problems with hills and despite saying one of the trips didn’t have hills it clearly did. The trip to the Indian village as a bit contrived and could be missed The monkey visit was nice and so was the night safari. The trip to the meeting of the waters is interesting and there is a nice lunch with a good craft market. Bar service was good and reasonably priced. The food was OK not great but not bad either. It got a bit limited at times and some of the deserts were strange semi frozen ice creams. Food could have been more exciting. …
We were at the Amazon Ecopark lodge for 7 days and were amazed how "little effort" they put to offer comfortable accommodations and service. We thought the rooms were better categorized as from a one star hotel: bathroom too small, electrical shower weak and old; the room is dark and the air conditioner was so loud, when we turned ours off we could hear the next rooms' noise, it was probably installed 15 years ago, and there was nothing eco about it. as my American friend would call it: "a tourist trap" as they charge for all inclusive and the meals in the only existing restaurant were very poor: no good variety nor quality! The staff is very warm, although very laid back about answering to guests' requests or complaints. They say they'll get to it, and never do, by the fourth time I had to ask for hand towels, then they sent some... They have a whole sightseeing schedule around the property which is really nice, jungle trekking, monkey island, visits to locals homes, fishing piranhas and hunting for baby alligators. We thought that they need to do some serious upgrade in order to charge what they are charging.…
