Western Kyoto is home to some of the city's best eccentricities. Kyoto's Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street takes visitors back in time to the Meiji Period, where old homes have been transformed into tea houses and eateries. Pleasure boats drift down the riverbank, under wooden bridges that beckon nature lovers to hiking trails and botanical walks. The area's famously tall bamboo groves, monkey park, and
impressive vistas during the Hanami cherry blossom viewing season mean that it is busiest in warmer months, though also gorgeous in the fall, when the mountains and hills along the banks turn multi-colored. Historic and engaging, even the rail cars in Western Kyoto seek to exemplify its traditional nature and scenic beauty. Many people, including natives, come to visit the 1,200 rakan statues at the Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple, which is still in use as a religious site.

Hi! They have a lot of tours and activities to do you can check with them if you have any specific idea because I cannot give you much more information about that as we did not use that service. Regarding the private onsen, yes they have and it's incredible! You can prebook a 45min. Bath (for every night) with your room, when you arrive there they ask you at what that you will like to take the bath to organize all the customs' bath. The onsen it's outside and has some views to the mountains and sky, with all kinds of shampoo ETC. for the pre-shower. We used it and it's an amazing experience. If you go there you will not regret it!

Yes. I had coffee there for breakfast and they can even bring it to your room. There is “%“ coffee a few meters away, which is open after most shops are closed, and there are UCC type cafes a little further near the main street where there are lots of shops and small food stalls and ramen houses. I hope this helps.

There is a very small coffee shop just down the street, but they don't open until about 8am...and it gets very crowded. the hotel provides bottle water in the room. You can request coffee also. They usually serve coffee or tea right after breakfast service. My friend is one of those people who can't get started without his morning cup of coffee...he can't wait until after breakfast. we requested to have coffee at 6:30 am before breakfast...and sure enough, we got a knock on our door at 6:30am, and the staff brought us a cup of coffee as requested.
