The location of Kyoto's hotel is in the limited takaragaike park, away from the busy city centre with many people. The fresh wooded forest opened the windows and the clean air was nice. There were relatively few foreigners and many Japanese locals. The hotel is in the form of a round circle of famous Japanese architects designed and in the middle there is a cottage. There are forests and lakes in the vast area, so it is nice to walk. A small pond and an artificial well in front of the clubroom are also beautifully fitted with the traditional Japanese building of the dam. At the clubroom you can choose from a welcome drink and Japanese tea. Most hotels in Japan are small in size. However, the hotel was relatively large and no inconvenience and was well equipped with various amenities. All steps, including the club lounge, were polite and friendly. Especially in front desk steps, Ito Hinako is always smiling and friendly. It was very nice to try to find out what possible guests needed and help. Tourist attractions in Kyoto are enough for one or two visits. However, for the rest of this hotel, I do several Trips a year.

The view outside the window is good and the room is very beautiful and quiet. I also like the fact that it takes just over 20 minutes from Kyoto Station. I am looking forward to breakfast and Japanese and Western food deliciously. I often go to a restaurant near Shijo Kawaramachi for dinner, but if you use the subway, you can get there rather quickly. What was different about this stay was that there was no wine glass in the room. It was a shame because it was a very atmospheric glass when drinking beer. The bus to Kibune from near the hotel is another reason to stay. We had a delicious lunch on the riverbed of Kibune again this year. It was also nice to have a heavy luggage sent to Kyoto Station at the end. I also want to come and stay next year.

As a Marriott Platinum member, I was able to use the club lounge and the free buffet breakfast.
It's far from the city center, but the subway station is within walking distance, so it's fine to park your car here and go sightseeing in the city.
On the other hand, I liked the quiet environment.
The club lounge was about what you'd expect, considering the price.
The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, so I thought it was good.
The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.
However, as everyone has said, the bathroom was very cheap and old-looking. It was clean, but...
It stands out even more because everything else was nice.
The breakfast buffet is usually a little over 4,000 yen, but considering the content, I think 2,500 yen would be a good price. I feel that 4,000 yen is too expensive.
Compared to the Sheraton Kobe, which has a similar price range, I feel that the breakfast is significantly inferior.

I'm a repeat customer. It's often noisy because there are a lot of foreigners, but it's a relatively spacious and calm hotel. But this time, there were two things that bothered me. One was, on the second day of my stay, when I returned to my room and tried to take a shower, the bottle of cleansing cream I had left there was missing? It was about half full, so I thought it had been thrown away, but it was in a pouch that had been moved. I can't imagine opening the pouch without permission. I immediately told the hotel to check, and they replied that they didn't remember. The person in charge apologized profusely, so I left it as it was. After that, when I moved to Osaka, I realized that my glasses were missing, and when I contacted them, they replied that they were there. It had been more than a day since I checked out, so when I asked why they hadn't contacted me, they said that they would not contact me except for identification. Even though it was something left in the room? Even though the receptionist didn't look busy and I couldn't contact them for so long? When I heard something like that, I felt that they were not kind and my good impression of them was instantly gone. I hope they remember that there are many customers who value such service.

This hotel is definitely geared more towards business travelers and conferences, and not leisure travelers. The location is very inconvenient as it’s about a 30-45 minute train ride to any of the main attractions in Kyoto. Also, the train itself is a 10-15 minute walk. I found this hotel to be very out of the way. The room was large, but with a very dated interior that felt sterile and lifeless. The staff was friendly enough but not overly helpful and service was very slow on both check in and check out. The bed was sunken in and sheets were scratchy. Everything was clean and the room was quiet at night. Overall a decent stay but nothing fantastic.

Thank you for your recent stay at The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike. Although our hotel is located in the city of Kyoto, the surrounding area is rich in nature and very quiet. There is also a bus service from the nearest bus terminal that runs near Ginkakuji Temple and Nanzenji Temple, which are major sightseeing spots in Kyoto. However, we are very sorry that you were not satisfied with our services, even though you came all the way here. Thank you again for your comment, and we hope one day you choose to stay with us again.

The hotel is located in front of the Kyoto Takaragaike International Conference Center. It is an old Prince Hotel, but it is The Prince, so it is a high-class hotel for a Prince Hotel. The location is Takaragaike, so there is nothing around. You have to go to the city by subway or taxi. In a word, it is inconvenient and old. The bed in the room is quite small, even for a twin. The bathroom is small and the toilet is in the same room. The bathtub is also small, and the hot and cold water are turned on separately, making it difficult to set the temperature. The amenities are the bare minimum and there is no luxury feel. The only relief is that there is a Nespresso coffee maker and a bathrobe. There is beer and drinking water in the attached refrigerator, but there is also a mini whiskey in the refrigerator... It's the first time I've seen whiskey in such a place. When I looked at the TV from the bed, I was sad to see that the monitor was partially hidden by the desk chair. I wonder if no one noticed... The courtyard is also shabby, and I feel that it can't be called The Prince. I think it's about the Grand Prince.

Poor quality of club lounges No comparison to other Prince Hotel Club Lounges I'm a senior member of the Prince Hotel. Starting around this summer, the Club Lounge has been changed so that only the most senior members can use it. Previously, it was also available to senior members. We changed the terms and conditions, so the number of people who could use the club lounge probably dropped drastically, so it was certainly a rattle. Despite the dramatic drop in usage, the quality of service offered at each time slot in the lounge was an incredible drop compared to before. It seems to me that the majority of Marriott members use the lounge, but how do Marriott members feel about the lounge here? That's what I think. As the most senior member of the Prince, I hope that the Club Lounge at other Prince Hotels will be able to offer the same contents. If the club lounge doesn't change in the future, I don't think you'll be able to use the hotel here very much. Until now, I have felt that the contents are worse than other lounges, but now, to be honest, I have felt that I do not want to use the Prince Hotel in Kyoto.

Nice hotel located in a serene and peaceful suburb in the north of Kyoto. Hotel is easily accessible from the subway, about a 5 minute walk from the Kokusai Kaikan exit of the Karasuma line. Hotel is a bit dated but has been maintained well. My reservation has made by a travel agent and thus, per Marriott policy, hotels do not reward members with Bonvoy benefits such as lounge access or upgrades. After some back and forth with hotel staff, they were very generous in allowing me access to the executive lounge. Lounge is very nice, with a large window overlooking a Japanese garden, breakfast was Japanese with some western options.
Hotel is worthy of staying if you are looking to get away but is a bit far out, if you are looking for more action and accessibility to the city, stay in town.

Surrounded by the rich nature of Rakuhoku, Kyoto, our hotel is located in a very quiet environment. It is about 5 minutes on foot to the nearest terminal. Buses to Ohara Sanzenin Temple, Ginkakuji Temple, and Heian Jingu Shrine also depart from the terminal, making it very convenient for sightseeing in Kyoto. There is a Japanese garden and a waterfall outside the large window in front of the club lounge. Autumn is coming, and the trees around our hotel will be dyed red. Depending on the season, the nature around the hotel also gets a new look. We are looking forward to seeing you again.

I visited for the first time in a while, and the quiet atmosphere was still good. However, the food and drinks in the club room, including breakfast, were terrible in both taste and variety. It was not as good as many hotels around the world. I hope they will improve that.
