The hotel charged my card before they were allowed to over Booking.com and now I have problem getting it back after cancellation. For weeks they have been saying they have refunded me the money even though I have proof they have not.

We (my wife and I) stayed at Sam‘s for two nights before the corona-lockdown in parts of Namibia. Apart from our worries about how to get back to Germany, we enjoyed the hospitality of Sam and the cosiness of his hotel. We especially liked the excellent food in the evening (the fish! the wine!) and the beautiful garden in the afternoon. The centre of Swakopmund is only a 10minute-walk away, while you can park your car safely in the backyard of the hotel. I can recommend Sam‘s Giardino without any doubt (for when times are becoming normal again)!

Sam was wonderful and provided a lot of support and advice. He was really friendly and really made the hotel special. I also liked how home-y the lobby was. The front garden was beautiful as well. The rooms were pretty clean but it was a little tough to sleep because there wasn't a sheet, just a duvet which was warm. Overall would definitely recommend.

Luckily we were here just for one night. The rooms are dated with old furniture. First hotel without water heater in the room. The owner is from Switzerland and he is a little bit tired of these kind of life, expressing this directly to us. The first hotel where we didn’t have dinner since the owner prefers to direct the guests to other restaurants. But has a big nice garden and big nice dog.

This place is nothing special to look at on the outside, and some places on the inside need a new paint job or proper dusting/shining, but this is a very good place to stay in Swakup. The beds are comfortable, the showers are GREAT, the breakfast is top notch, and Sam, from Switzerland, is a great host and very knowledgeable - wanting you to have a great time in Namibia. There is a nice courtyard to sit in with birds and his giant dog as well Good value for money, but a tiny bit far from the center
