We received a friendly welcome here from the start after a long hot drive up from Sossesvlei. Our room is great, comfy bed, high quality linen, and everywhere is light and spacious.

Everything is designed beautifully to help us feel calm peaceful and healthy , the environment is clean airy, uncluttered and light, so we felt relaxed straightaway.  I really liked the inclusion of fruit  nuts yoghurt and seeds on the breakfast buffet, also that candles were lit at breakfast time. Not sure if this to guard against insects or just to promote a sense of calm, however it certainly did!

2 showers side by side was a novelty for us, never seen it before but very practical!

Seasidey vibe to all the decoration , shells and pebbles around etc which gives a relaxed but modern feel. Every comfort is thought about,  reliable hot water in the showers, tea and coffee making available in the room, (plus biscuits), and also in reception.

Free WiFi is included which was greatly appreciated and meant we could keep in touch with home easily.  A lovely home from home feel.

Breakfast is buffet style for juices, cereals yoghurt, nuts seeds, also sliced ham and cheese.

Cooked items are available on request, and I enjoyed my scrambled eggs and toast!

There is a shared seating area on the courtyard and also  swing seat and comfy chair at the door of the chalet to relax in the cool of the afternoon.

Felt very safe and we were happy about town exploring places for dinner.  Obviously any town in the world has its problems so we were still careful.

There are lots of really good eating places in town so didn't struggle to find places for dinner.

We stayed 2 nights here in one of the rooms separate from the main building.
The room is small but comfortable with tea/coffee facilities and homemade cookies.Towels could be bigger.
The welcome was very warm and the breakfast served in a very light pretty room with homemade fresh bread and scones and lots more .
They do laundry for a very small fee and the situation is perfect for all restaurants.
There is easy parking and security cameras.
The negative is a very small safe when you can just about put a phone and a purse. Forget about laptops or cameras.
Also no phone in room so if you want to communicate with reception you have to go there in person.

All things considered, not a bad accommodation. We were there for 3 nights. The room wasn't particularly spacious but was nice and clean. If you are going to be out and about for activities, this is more than enough to sleep. However, if you plan to stay in for a bit, it's not a room you want to spend a lot of time in. The blends need to be drawn at all times so the room is on the darker side.

Breakfast is plenty, staff were friendly and helpful, and location quite central.

Only thing is, the safety box in the room was SUPER small. A wallet and passport holders - the box is filled. We had cash and a few other things to put in there and we had to stuff everything in and force it close every single time.

The Guesthouse is clean and very nice. Rooms are spacious and the staff is lovely and are also happy to assist you with bookings for restaurants and activities. Everything is withing walking distance (Quad adventure, Restaurants, Sea, Shops etc.)
The Altstadt Restaurant ist right next door so you can walk home easily after a few beers too many. Breakfast is very nice too. It's a perfect place to stay when in Swakop!

The staff were so helpful. The guest owner was also very helpful. I am so grateful to have stayed there. Beautiful place. Luxurious rooms at such a great price!! I would recommend this guesthouse to Everyone!! The Best Place in my opinion!

Great breakfast too by the way and the laundry facility they assisted me with was at such a low price but with an excellent service. The coffee in the waiting room was excellent everything about this place is incredible. Again I must say the cleaners are just fantastic and the guest owner is ever so helpful. They also assisted with transport from the airport which was also really great! The view from the airport driving to the guesthouse is stunning. On your left you see the ocean , on your right you see the desert! SOOO Beautiful!!

I've never so desperately wanted to give a review of a place I stayed but this one definitely deserves a review! A good one!

God Bless You All.

We had a luxury room at the front of the guesthouse. It was very spacious and nicely decorated. There was a back door to a quiet seating area at the back. The whole surrounding outdoor area had lovely garden planting and some comfortable swing chairs.

There was a lovely selection of feed for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and recommended a restaurant for supper. When we were late getting back they kindly adjusted our booking so we didn’t miss out.

We were booked to stay here two nights during our driving holiday in Namibia but we felt compelled to leave after one night, and found something much more luxurious and cheaper (see my other review). Rooms at the Swakopmund Guesthouse are best described as "motel-style" with patio doors that open right onto the property's grounds, which are unfenced and open to the street (which made us feel slightly less than secure). It also meant that privacy in the room is impacted - even if you opened the window just slightly, the noise of staff and other guests chatting immediately outside your bathroom window is unwelcome.

Parking is also not secure - just some hard-standing next to the street (though a security guard is present after dark). Although the surrounding area is fine during daylight hours, at night this area of the town is very dark and deserted. We felt uncomfortable heading back from dinner at around 9pm and passed prostitutes plying their trade just round the block from the Guesthouse.

On arrival it took some time to check in as there was a small queue of other guests complaining to the front desk (dirty bath towels in the room, problems with the keys....). Our room was hot and stuffy when we arrived and the receptionist clearly thought it highly amusing when I asked to borrow a fan - there is no aircon. The bedroom of our "standard" room was adequate but nothing special - the presence of a freestanding fridge and old TV hanging from the wall reinforced the down-market motel feel.

Worse was to come though - the condition of the en-suite bathroom was frankly awful. Large cracks in the wall, extensive mould growth, poor quality fittings, ants crawling all over the towels and a stale odour. The flooring consisted of embedded pebbles set in cement, which was not only uncomfortable to walk on in bare feet, but also liable to trap dirt, fungal spores and bacteria. It's been many years since I've stayed in a hotel with a dirty, unacceptable bathroom and there was no way we were going to tolerate this more than one night.

We left after breakfast the next day and will not be returning. The only reason I did not give this property a "terrible" rating was the free wifi signal and the reasonable breakfast.

We had just come from staying at all the wonderful Safari lodges so it might have influenced my opinion on this place, but for my taste this guest house was like a concrete cell. Everything was concrete, painted white and sparse.
The staff was also a little chilly.

We were rather disappointed with our two-day stay here. On the positive side, the breakfast was good (although usual cheap juices containing little fruit) and the staff friendly enough. Negatives outweighed the positives however. The room (supposedly "luxury") was very basic in our view. Wifi was terrible, TV reception was so bad, it was impossible to watch any channel, noisy fridge in the corner had to be switched off at night to get to sleep, all the plug sockets were blocked or not working, so phones had to be charged using the shaver socket in the bathroom. There is a good 1cm gap under the entrance door so the glass in the door steamed up very quickly, the door only shuts when it is locked, and the key for the tiny safe is attached to the door key, so this quickly became annoying. Towels are tiny and there is no shampoo, only a generic "soap dispenser" in the shower. Very disappointed.
