Place seems new. Good kitchen and comfortable beds. Place has cats and dogs, just a warning incase you are not a fan. Shame about one of the volunteers working there often smoking weed, not a pleasant welcome when you arrive.

The Salty Jackal is the kind of place that feels like home. It is small and cozy, and the staff and owner Ollie welcome guests and take them out as if they are friends rather than strangers. The resident dog is friendly and sweet, and the cat cuddled with me at night. I was sad to only get to stay here one night before heading out on a road trip. Places like these with such friendly and helpful people warm your heart and give you a nice dose of home comfort when you're on the road for so long. Can't recommend it enough!

I was here for several days while I tried to do as many things in Swakopmund as possible and I'm so glad I picked it. The actual building is perfect, rooms are spacious, the kitchen and the bathroom all work as they should. Special shout out should go to the staff who are kind, thoughtful and fun. Can't be beat
