We have just returned from 21 days at the Voile Bleue and have had a very relaxing holiday. They say good things come in small packages and the Voile Bleue is a good example. The hotel is small with only 25/30 rooms - right by the side of the sea with an adequate sized pool. The rooms are air conditioned and ours had a small kitchen with a view from the verandah that overlooked the garden , pool and sea.
Adding to the excellent atmosphere were a full team of staff who remained cheerful and attentive at all times.
The hotel has its own restaurant ‘ Le Skipper’ that offers a good choice of meals at very fair prices - we ate in for 19 evenings out of the 21.
We do hope to return.

This is a fantastic find and I would really recommend this hotel.

What I loved about it:

• The staff – they were so friendly, helpful, welcoming and sweet.
• The location on the beach is lovely – right at the end, where it’s nice and quiet – you can reach Trou Aux Biches easily enough, or go along to the next part of the coast which is less developed and full of little beach shack eateries. Bear in mind, it’s not a swimming beach, but a nice one to look at.
• The hotel itself is in lovely gardens filled with tropical plants, flowers, fish, butterflies and birds, with a lovely swimming pool that overlooks the sea.
• The restaurant, Le Skipper, is also fantastic and I had some of my most favourite meals here. You can sit overlooking the sea and the magical sunsets. We also really appreciated the music (and that they let guests get involved too!).
• The room was spacious and had a handy little kitchenette. It was cleaned every day. Our room was described as ‘partial sea view’, although we got a full view of the sea (just with the pool in front).
• Reasonably priced for what we got – we had breakfast included which always filled us up until dinner time. Morning service can sometimes be slower so if you’re in a hurry, it’s worth letting them know in advance, if not, just sit back and enjoy the view 😊

Overall, I LOVED this hotel and would absolutely return and were even recommending it to other tourists we met while on holiday (I want to be back there now!). We were well looked after during a cyclone, and I can’t praise the friendly and professional staff enough.

Bravo Voile Bleue – top marks!

- This Boutique Hotel was an excellent place to chill out for a couple of weeks post pandemic! It was ideal size not to feel at risk & everyone was most particular about the regulatios. The whole experience was absolutely great. All the hotel public areas were very clean, well maintained & attractive. The Infinity pool was very well kept & so was the surrounding area although a rail to help get into the pool would be useful for someone like myself with limited mobility. The accommodation I chose had an outstanding view straight to the beach & Ocean. The flat was attended to every day, with clean laundry regularly, the kitchen had all we needed to do some meals ourselves. The Hotel Trip Organiser Cindy was a tremendous help & support with everything we wanted to do, which made things easy. The Skipper Restaurant has an extensive Menu & Sharma & his Staff are very friendly & obliging. The actual food was delicious, with plenty of choice. Breakfast was included in our package. & this was great, either Continental or full English! We ate every night there because it was truly excellent food & also very good value. Every Wednesday evening they had a really good Barbecue! The hotel is not in a busy area but the hotel has taxi services available.
Probably the only downside is that there is only a narrow strip of sandy beach & there are rocky areas but a part to swim from is only a short walk up the beach.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

So we have finally got around to writing a review for our stay at Voile Bleue.
What can we say, absolutely amazing.
From when we first arrived at the hotel, very tired from our long journey all the way from Cornwall UK, the staff were so welcoming, helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This level of service continued throughout the whole of our stay.
Our beach view room was clean, tidy and had all the facilities we required. Thank you to all the housekeeping team for keeping our room clean and tidy everyday.
The hotel itself in our opinion was in a great location, quiet area within walking distance/short taxi trip to more than one public beach, shops, bars and amenities. The hotel gardens, pool and beach were very well maintained. Unfortunately you can't swim directly in front of the hotel due to all the rocks, however there's a small lagoon just along to right as well as the public swimming beaches. It is however very good for looking in all rock pools at the sea life and the white sandy part of the beach just outside hotel is great for relaxing on hotel sun beds. Just be careful if collecting shells, you might come back from the bar one evening and find they've gone for a walk 😂 Please don't be put off by the rocks as the sunsets are truly stunning, you won't be disappointed.
If you fancy getting out and about and discovering this amazing country, then first port of call is Cindy who will be able to offer you a wide range of excursions. We did the North tour, South tour and catamaran to the North islands.
Both the North and South tour we had a private driver, Vick who was fantastic. His knowledge and guidance throughout the trips was excellent and he was a good laugh.
Now the sea front restaurant and bar, where do we start...... Sharma and his team were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. We booked half board and the range of breakfast options was more than enough for us, couldn't of asked for more.
The options for half board for the evening meal (3 course) changed every night and they were still more than happy to accommodate if the options available weren't suitable. The chefs were obviously very talented and seemed to use the best local and fresh ingredients. Lots of seafood available, local dishes also on offer as well as other options. We also enjoyed local entertainment and bbq buffet which was excellent.
The bar became a personal favourite, Gerald the barman is obviously very good at his job, I sampled many of his cocktails!! And the Rum, lots of rum 🤣
We felt like we had known him for years and are hoping to stay in contact.
Special mention to all the restaurant and bar team for accommodating my pregnant wife, Sharma, Gerald, Aniketh, Saneta and Puspaja really are true professionals and an asset to Le Skipper restaurant. Thank you so much for the memories.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and plan to come back as soon as we can.

What a great find. We stayed here for a week in a beachfront studio which had a stunning view from the terrace that I still miss every morning! There was a little kitchenette area and fridge which we filled with water and soft drinks as Mauritius is expensive. There is a big supermarket about 10 minutes down the road but check the opening hours before you go as it isn’t open as late as UK shops, especially at the weekend. Parking was limited but we never struggled to find a spot and you leave your keys with reception for if they need to move yours to let someone else out. We were on a B&B basis and there was a choice of a full English (but with no pork so we gave that a miss) and went for the continental every morning. This consisted of a basket of fresh bread and a mixture of croissants/pain au chocolates/pain au raisins with honey and jam. Then you got fruit salad, a yoghurt and what tasted like Alpen muesli! The breakfast restaurant looked out at the beach and was a very pleasurable way to spend each morning. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening and it was fine but with so many places to explore, make sure you venture out. There is live music over the weekend and on a Wednesday but it was all packed up by 10pm so never a problem. Most of Mauritius is all shut up by 10:30pm latest. Beach towels were provided which we used every day to lie round the pool once we arrived back after a day out, it seemed to get warmer from 1-5pm so it was perfect timing and the sun stays on the beach until it sets so you can get the very last rays. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us restaurant advice and places to visit. There was a Hindu festival on during our stay so we were told all about it and how it might affect our journeys as people made their way to the temple in the south of the island (the road past the temple was shut). Our room was cleaned daily with plenty of fresh towels. Take insect repellent, there are a lot of mosquitoes in Mauritius. There was a plug-in repellant provided in our room with a few tabs so we just bought more in the supermarket, they were not expensive, and we used it every night. We had a baby gecko join us for a couple of days too! The air conditioning wasn’t what I am used to (I lived in Dubai for a few years) but it did get cool after a while. You can’t leave the electricity on when you leave your room (except for the fridge) so it took a while to get comfortable if the room had been closed up all day. There are loungers around the pool and was always enough for everyone. The umbrellas don’t move as they are set in concrete so you had to rotate your lounger around if you wanted shade and the pool area was shaded by 3:30pm ish but you could move to the beach then. The view from the pool was stunning. Definitely recommend this hotel as a great base for seeing all Mauritius has to offer. Youish on reception was particularly helpful, friendly and happy to answer our queries and give us ideas of what to do to make the most of our holiday.

We have just returned from a ten day honeymoon holiday in this charming hotel. Rooms are clean, comfortable and cleaned every day. Towels were also replaced daily, including beach ones. The pool which has a beautiful view of the ocean and palms is also cleaned daily.

But the thing that makes this hotel special are the people. Special thanks to our dear Janish who made our vacation even more enjoyable, also Bridgite who was very kind and helpful.

We booked a half board, dinner was very tasty and the restaurant Le Skipper has a great view. You can really see the effort of the chef and the staff who were professional and friendly. There is a barbeque night with sega music and dancers every Wednesday.

We really enjoyed the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere every day of our holiday. This hotel definitely deserves one more star. 😊

We stayed at Voile Bleue in Nov 2021 and thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks there. With 22 rooms, the hotel was quiet and never felt too busy despite being fully booked. Our double room (ground floor facing the pool) was spacious and clean. A well equipped kitchenette allows for the preparation of breakfast and simple meals. The restaurant "The Skipper' is very good and popular with outside guests. The menu is varied (we had a different menu every day) and is a good introduction to Mauritian cuisine with international options available. Being Mauritian myself, I can say that the kitchen at Voile Bleue provides good home-style cooking. What sets Voile Bleue apart is the friendliness and professionalism of its staff. I have stayed in 3 to 5 stars in Mauritius before and I must say the service level at Voile Bleue is truly exceptional.
A big thank you to Sharma, Darren, Gerald, Jessy, Anudja for their genuine friendliness, kindness and customer service. I really enjoyed all the 'bons dialogues' and good jokes. You always had a smile on despite the late night shifts or having to work in the heat with a mask on. You are all excellent ambassadors for the Mauritian tourism industry. The reception staff was also always very helpful and helped us to find a PCR test centre at the last minute. Although you cannot swim in front of the hotel ( some of the best beaches are a ten minute car ride away), the rocky beach has rock pools full of fish at low tide and is very special at sunset. We would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend it. Sanjiv and Gisela

A small family owned resort in a quiet village professionally managed by a dedicated team providing reasonably priced meals with a Mauritian theme is all you need for a relaxing break from colder climates. The restaurant was busy when we visited one Sunday evening which meant a somewhat slower service than usual but this hardly influenced our decision to return with a much larger Group for lunch the following week. The bucolic setting adds much to viewing sunsets to the sounds of bird songs.

Looking for a place with cozy apartments, delicious cuisine, outstanding service and amazing sunsets? Lucky you, found it! Our stay at Voile Bleue was an unique experience from the very first beginning:
Yanish welcomed us with a bright smile and lots of jokes, gave us a first impression and was kind and helpful. Our apartment offered a very comfortable bed, a big showering space and a kitchen with everything you need to cook. The chambermaids are doing a great job, every day!
The balcony was inviting, but who needs a balcony when you have a private beach?! We’ve been at Flic en Flac at first, noisy and busy in an honest positive way, but Voile Bleue in Trou aux Biches (Mon Choisy) is directly located at the sea. The beach feels elite and private, even though there are no private beaches in Mauritius. For those who want to relax and do sunbathing the most perfect spot - almost nobody instead the hotel guests is near you. This is because the shore is spreaded with rocks, that make swimming not that easy, but guess what: 50 meters from the Voile Bleue’s beach you will perfectly enter the sea.
We’ve been to many different beautiful places, but nowhere we’ve seen sunsets like that! For Voile Bleue is located in the north/east of Mauritius, you will enjoy the beautifulest colors of sunset you’ve ever seen.
All in all it has been an ultra attentive stay at the Voile Bleue, kind and helpful people, perfect location and the beachfront restaurant „Le Skipper“? Unbelievable good! You can red our rating their!
We will come back as soon as possible, Yanish was right with what he said when we arrived:
„If you liked Flic en Flac, you will not want to leave here“! - Jule & Chris

Where to start! Yanish Southgate, relative of garath and friend of Messi and Ronaldo!

What a great place to spend with your family or significant other. Since we arrived Yanish and the team were accommodating and helpful in any way possible.

From recommend places to eat, tours, places to visit and even the less busy beaches!

The hotel had everything we needed for the family ( wife and a 18 month baby). The rooms were cleaned everyday, they had a washing machine and dryer which was very useful with a little one.

Next to a all inclusive, if you're after a quite relaxing spot you only need to walk 2 mins from your room to be on the beach! If you're looking for people then walk 5 mins down the beach !

All the staff were great and were so good with the little one.

Definitely recommend staying here
