The location of the l'EFFET MER BEACH RESTAURANT provides what is probably the best sundowner spot in all of Mauritius.
We returned on a few occasions for the views of the sunset over the Indian Ocean plus the great cocktails.
The bar snack menu while having a sundowner was fresh, well prepared and delicious. The wine list and cocktail list is also extensive with prices to suit all budgets. Really worth the visit.

We booked 5 rooms from 27/12 to 02/01 .Beautiful sea facing apartments .Clean rooms .Great location on the beach.Food was delicious and freshly made everyday with good quality .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To all the chefs and the food and beverage team.New years eve dinner was way more than we expected for a small boutique hotel .Good quality cocktails and beverages .lovely friendly staff Especially at the bar .
The only negative experience I encountered was with the check in guy called Patrice .
1 room out of the 5 i booked was located at the back with no views . He told me if I am not happy with the room I can check out and find another hotel .This is a very bad attitude in terms of customer service .
Thank you Avinash for changing my room the next morning .
If you are traveling in a big family group ,this is the hotel to stay in especially during peak seasons .
Would definitely visit again with family .
Last but not least ; a big thank you to Franchette ,avinash ,the bar staff ,the breakfast and dinner buffet staff .
Lots of ants and some cockroaches in room due to high humidity levels ,hotel should look into getting this under control .
Definitely not my last visit to villas Caroline .Thank you all for making this holiday an awesome one .New years eve party was a blast with lovely table decor .
Don’t forget to visit Pakbo restaurant just outside the hotel .

I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights from 21st Feb to 25 Feb in room number 333.
Very nice and superb beach location hotel. We enjoyed a lot, great and supportive staff. I would recommend this hotel.

Only few things needs to be improved in hotel.

1.Telephone wasn't work in room. So need to go to hotel reception area
for the help. Telephone is very basic requirements in all hotels.

2. I am from india and vegetarian. Indian Veg food tayst is not good overall. Kindly request to improve veg food options for vegetarian people. I didn't enjoy veg food and I had to go to another restaurant to get an Indian food tayst.

3. Water bottle is bit expensive.

4. Only few electric charging points were available in the room. Btw they helped me and gave electric adapter.

Overall hotel is very good when you find hotel near beach location.

First of all i would like to point out that we (me and wifey) did go to this hotel at peak season so the hotel was crowded but our review remains sincere. The room we were given was situated just in front of the sea with a stunning view of the beach and sea. No wifi in the rooms and data connections didn't seem to pass through the walls correctly so you are stuck with almost no connection. The room's decorations didn't change since the hotel opened decades ago. The tiles and furniture are aging and unappealing. The bed's blanket looks like coming from ancient civilisations. The cleaning staff were helpful and courteous however the barmen seems to be more on holiday than ourselves. They took some time to take our orders even if there were no one else to be served and kept on talking loudly between themselves or watching girls moving around. They showed no signs of knowledge in customer service. We were in all-inclusive package and the bar proposed only 3 cocktail choices. The coffee was a soluble ricofy and the food was of no interest at all. We even thought that they are cutting costs too much compared to what we paid. we would have expected much more for a festive season. The hotel would require a complete renovation (both physical and customer service side). The only advantage of this hotel is it is well situated.

A thoroughly disappointing stay at Villa Caroline. The place and furnishings could do with some updating, but to the cleaners credit, the room was cleaned to a good standard.
The food and menu could use some imagination and hygiene measures, there wasn’t a huge variety and flies were often seen hovering and landing on open food.
The worst part of the whole stay is the activities staff and the overall vibe that only white visitors get attention. There is nothing whatsoever available for children, the “kids club” apparently hasn’t been running for quite some time. I enquired with one staff member named Andy, and questioned what there is on offer. I mentioned my child is 2 and he offered scrabble! He and the other activities person never once bothered to say hello or involve us in the group activities they would provide at dinner, but the whites always got lavished by them. Very strange behaviour. Would not recommend staying here if you are not white or have children.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. I’m not sure if the all inclusive guests were given more info but felt on check in that it was pointed out that we were ONLY B and B guests. The hotel rooms were more than adequate and clean and faced the beach. I was particularly impressed with the quantity and quality of hangers in the wardrobe. The Wi Fi was very weak and we could only access when near the reception and main part of the hotel. When we were checking out we noticed other guests were handing in mobile routers, we were not made aware of this facility. The hotel is in a good location, near to restaurants and bars.

They have several apartments all facing the Indian Ocean. Not all of them are of the same size, some are a bit too cramped to relax in comfortably. Luckily for me and my wife ours was of a good size. There are ground floor and first floor apartments. The beds were nice.
Breakfast was fairly good, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed a single night at Villas Caroline, as our previous accommodation was full, and were glad we had not booked it for our whole holiday.

The staff were friendly and helpful but the rooms were very tired and in need of refurbishment. The evening entertainment was very loud, so make sure you request to be at the far end of the hotel if you fancy a quiet time on your balcony.

The big plus of the location is that it is easy to walk to local restaurants and there is excellent snorkeling from the beach right outside the hotel. The beach is wide at this point, so plenty of room and the sand is really fine here, too.

Small and cosy resort. Food was great and good service from restaurant. However, food refill at the buffet was a bit slow and the DJ playing on the 25th Dec was not that great. We got much better than the one who played.

We picked this hotel for the location and were not disappointed. Our room was literally one step away from the beach, it was spacious with good air conditioning and we enjoyed the seating outside. I am a pescatarian and found there was ample for me to eat and overall the food was good. We only had two issues in our two weeks at the hotel with one being lots of people smoking in the non smoking areas, this was not enforced by the staff at all even though there are signs in place, it took us to complain for the issue to be addressed, the other issue we had was with the beach towels, I asked at reception for two clean towels in the evening to be told the maid would change them the next day however I had to wait until the following evening for this to happen and that was after me having to ask twice more. Why this hotel doesn’t work on a towel card system I don’t know!
