We enjoyed our stay due to the garden and views. Also staff was helpful.
We had to change room as our first room had a lot of problems, including the door not closing. The hotel staff knows there are maintenance issues in some of the rooms, such as problems with the electric points and appliances. They are working on sorting this.
The location is lovely and relaxing. The beach and restaurant's are a good walk away.
Views from the hotel is very pleasing, especially at sunset. They provide a shuttle service in the evenings and once in the day time.

We went at the West Coast View and we did really enjoy our stay. The environment is so peaceful and a really pleasant atmosphere. Special thanks to the person who assisted me for my booking. She was very attentive to details and I was given all necessary information I needed. I think her name is Elsa. I am looking forward to go back to the hotel.

We were very well looked after by Patrick and his family during our stay. The rooms were a good size and well kept. We had great views from our balcony setting. The complimentary shuttle service to Flic En Flac was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Staff is very gentle and the hotel is in a quiet place. The room was spacious and clean. Anyway, the beach is not very close to the hotel, you need a car or you can use their bicycles (there is a bit of slope to cope with, not for all people): we had a car. Very good breakfast and exceptional overall quality/price. I defenitely recommend this hotel.

Want to explore Mauritius? Visit lots of different beaches? Eat where the local people eat? Sleep in a comfortable room without paying for hotel facilities you will never use? If that’s the case this may be your best option for accommodation. But if you want your hotel right by the beach you may well be better off somewhere else.
I’ve stayed here for 6 weeks in 2013, and already have reviewed this hotel. Now I’ve stayed for another month in 2014; so I’m concentrating on things that have changed since my last visit.
Patrick remains a brilliant manager, and does far more for the guests but I would expect in a much more expensive resort. Because the place is small, it all feels very personal. The warm greeting we received on arrival and departure makes it feel very much as if we are just part of the family.
The location is very good for exploring the island with a car. I’ve only marked it down because the hotel isn’t actually on the beach. Most of the West and South Coast can be reached inside an hour. And with the new motorway it’s now easy to drive to the north of the island in an hour or so. Only the East Coast is a rather longer drive.
Sleep quality was absolutely perfect. The bed was very comfortable, as good as our home bed; and we didn’t hear any noise at all during our stay – and I’m a light sleeper so that’s high praise indeed.
Rooms are excellent, and include everything you need to prepare simple meals. However do note you will need to bring your own tin opener and bottle opener, those were the only things we really needed that weren’t supplied.
They now serve a very good breakfast. It’s really useful on that first morning. When we were there they supplied fresh fruit, fruit juice, excellent coffee, omelette, sausages, croissants etc. But I really only like a light breakfast, I also found the dining area was rather hot and enclosed; so afterwards `I much preferred to eat a light self-catered breakfast on our balcony with a great view of the island.
This time Laundry nearly always took 2 days, on one occasion 3 days; the price remained very reasonable.
The roof terrace now has very comfortable sunbeds. We never used it during the daytime, but it’s a brilliant place for observing the southern night sky at night. Unfortunately they have installed a solar LED light which can’t be switched off; they were a bit of a nuisance, but we don’t feel they had much effect on what we saw. The very clear air, with little light pollution (except for this one LED light) make for a fantastic view of the night sky. Most of the more expensive hotels would have more lights and nowhere as good for seeing the stars
Patrick organised car hire for us. The price seemed very fair, and the car was almost new. The company he used provided the correct paperwork. However most of the cars supplied do not have a parcel shelf; I regard this as very important to ensure stuff left in the car is not on open display (I may be rather paranoid about this as I come from the UK where car crime is a serious problem). They did manage to sort out a parcel shelf by 9am the next morning. If you regard this as important, make sure you stress this to Patrick. Incidentally the guy (Vicky) who organised our car also does excursions. We talked to him several times and think he would be very good at showing customers around the island.
We had a couple of minor problems with the room. We did tell Patrick about them and each problem was resolved very quickly indeed - they replaced a whole set of sockets in the kitchen which weren’t working properly. So if you find anything wrong, you can be sure they’ll put it right for you.
For those with mobility problems ground floor rooms are reached from the car park without steps. First floor rooms do have a back access onto the street without steps, but there are steps down to the swimming pool and dining area. Naturally the top floor does require climbing at least one flight of steps. A good handrail has been installed on almost all the steps; however there just 4 steps which have no handrail, I found a hand on the wall made me feel perfectly safe on these steps.
I do reckon this place is outstanding value for money. Comfortable, budget accommodation is hard to find on Mauritius. Stay here, hire a car, you should have a brilliant holiday without breaking the bank.

Cleaning issue. Very small kitchen.. no kettle.. one stove plate and 1 pot and 1 pan.. ok for quick cooking. Microwave (dirty).. clean floors daily but they do not clean other places as well.. old towels, tired decor. Could be a gem of a place if it was better managed/owner provide beds etc in-line with comfortable travel.. Mattresses uncomfortable, no cover for beds.. just sheets. Rooms are not soundproof.. insist on getting what you paid for. If you book for 2 in a triple studio (has extra bed) then dont accept studio for 2 (one bed) unless they discount it for you.

Free shuttle, some friendly staff.. rude cleaner lady, shuttle driver is great and friendly.. ask him anything.
Close to route going down to Chamarel, Le Morne area. Great as a sekf drive. Place also has parking which is a plus and feels safe.

Its a block of 12 apartments of various size.. in a quiet residential area. Beautiful pool and garden. TV and wi-fi set-up sucks.

They have all the potential to make it better. I would love to run this place.

I stayed at West Coast View in Flic En Flac for 8 days and have to say it was an extrememly pleasant stay made special by the helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel is in a great location with only a short 10 minute walk down to the beautiful Flic En Flac Beach where there are shops and restaurants.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service which is extrememly flexible and they evening dropped me in Tamarin which has a surf beach and is 15 minutes drive away.

The rooms were clean and newly decorated and the bed was comfortable. My only criticism was that the fridge was quite loud, so I had to unplug it.

The staff helped with suggestions on what to do and where to go and were so friendly that I even sat and had lunch with them one day! The breakfast is simple but wholesome.

Overall a great stay and I would definitely recommend.

We would like to thank Patrick and his team for the lovely time we had at West coast view. We have felt very comfortable and well looked after. Nothing was ever too much trouble and every request from our side was made possible. As a matter effect we have extended our stay twice and have sincerely enjoyed our time there. Patrick was extremely helpful and friendly, he should be really honoured for the excellent job he does . He takes very good take care of all guests. All the team members from housekeeper, gardener and the breakfast ladies are very nice . The entire place is kept really clean and we were very happy with our apartement, which has everything you can ask for - very good Wifi access, kitchenette, balcony with views, clean pool area and wonderful breakfast. Thank you for the invitation for the Mauritius evening with traditional dance ( Sega ) , snacks (Rotis) and drinks, we really enjoyed it! If we came back to Mauritius, we would most definetely stay here again !
