My husband and I visited for his 40th birthday for a seven night stay. We could not fault anything with this hotel. The food was great in the main restaurant and the 2 al la carte (french and oriental) that we visited. The grounds were always being tended to, cleaners throughout the hotel constantly Keeping floors etc. clean. They had two pools, however we mostly visited the one nearer to the beach where there was more life and activities and the bar/restaurant for lunch snacks was there. Beach was beautiful. Always plenty of sun beds at anytime of the day on beach and by the pool. Coco (bar staff/waiter) made our holiday with his happy smiley self always and couldn’t do enough for us , thank you Coco. Viyay (apologies if spelling incorrect) the director/manager of all the restaurants/bars of the resort was fantastic always checking in to see we was ok, asking if there was anything more he could do for us and any feedback on food etc. There was a varied entertainment every night something different some our thing and others not so great for us but that is just a personal preference not that it was bad. Our room was fabulous - we had a wonderful junior suite with huge jacuzzi in centre of suite, huge terrace, cleaned thoroughly every day. Mini bar restocked daily. They have a glass bottom boat that goes out twice a day (10pm & 1pm) which is a great thing to do and is included in the all inclusive price. There is a taxi service desk in reception which you can get near enough immediate taxis into shopping area nearby and even do trips to anywhere in the island. We went on a trip to see dolphins and a private island for a BBQ but through our transfer company summertimes. Reception staff very helpful and accommodating. They have a male and female shower facility and changing rooms for if you check out by 12:00 but are not leaving for transfer until later in the day/evening. They do give you the option to keep on your room on extended subject to availability. I have seen comments about “stray dogs” wandering the resort ... don’t be put off by this .. they do have but are very friendly and calm ones that are immaculately clean. The hotel staff do shoo them away if they are seen to be making people uncomfortable or entering into any restaurants etc.. they are no harm what so ever and most people we see bar the few odd people were fine with them due to their calm nature.
If you go to the town approx ten minute drive from hotel for souvenir shopping just check how much things are in the gift shop in the hotel before going as the prices are massively higher than in the hotel and to get prices down you have to stand there haggling. We bought most of our stuff in hotel gift shop as was reasonable with no haggling required. Overall highly recommend and we will be returning but next time for a longer duration. Thank you Maritim for making my husbands birthday a great memory for us.

My husband & I have just returned from this paradise and would certainly recommend the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There are 4 restaurants, a self service buffet, which has different themes each evening. The Asian, French and beach restaurants are waiter service and have to be booked prior. All are included in the all inclusive deal although some some items on the menu are not included. We liked to have our lunch by the beach, there are 5 chefs live cooking different dishes. Other dishes eg salads, pizza, chips, sweets, ice cream cornets etc are available to help yourself to by the beach bar.
The beach and gardens are raked and cleaned every morning, the sea is safe for swimming and there are water sports available with a great team to help. The reception will give you a voucher for beach towels, which can be exchanged regularly at the water sport hut. A boat runs to an area for snorkelling and they loan you snorkels. This is also included on your all inclusive. There are plenty of sun beds & umbrellas although if you want a seat in front of the sea you have to put towels on the seats well before breakfast.
There is entertainment every evening which is repeated on the second week.
Our room was huge, the comfy bed was the biggest we’ve ever slept in. We were lucky to get a ocean view room 717 which also looked over the main pool. There was a shower + a bath & 2 basins and it was kept spotless although sometimes it was cleaned later in the day. The fridge is restocked daily which included milk & soft drinks. If you don’t use 3 pin plugs you may need to take adapters. The balcony was also very big.
There is a lovely lady called Leena who sits opposite the reception who will organise taxis, excursions, trips etc. We had a day tour of the south, a speed boat to other islands, waterfalls etc, a taxi to the local market and one to a festival, all of which we would recommend.
Thank you for one of the best holidays we’ve enjoyed.

The hotels 4 star rating is a little generous. Rooms and some areas of the hotel could definitley do with a lick of paint and modernising. The main bar
and the main restaurant is somewhat basic and plain. Lots of choice on the food front but was expecting more fresh fruit and more variety of food.

The beach DEFINITLEY NEEDS REGULAR seaweed clean up. There is a lot of sea weed and although the hotel staff do clean it up some days they left half way through and never came back and some days they were there in the late morning ( should really be cleaned in the morning and afternoon).

This hotel constantly hosts weddings which is fine but this results in the beach bar being closes off to private events which is frustrating as paying hotel guests should have access to all areas. In our 11 days there there were probably 5 weddings if not more so something to consider. The hotel needs a separate area to accommodate this.

As an animal lover it was so hard to see so many stray dogs and this hotel does not have anything in place to help these dogs. Local charities work with other hotels in the area ( e.g. LUX hotel) but not this hotel. This is really disappointing and I ended up paying for the treatment myself as I literally hate seeing animals suffer. Spoke to communication managers about this matter who did assist and sympathized but more can be done by the hotel. Dogs will not bother you if you do not want them to but are ever so sweet and lots of guest feed them daily which is lovely to see.

Some of the staff at this hotel are very very unfriendly and have very little customer service skills . Which is not what you want after saving for so long for a holiday!!! The service at dinner and lunch is clunky with long waits for drinks/ multiple waiters.
Water fountains should be provided to ease staff pressures at lunch and dinner times.

Mauritious is a truly beautiful country and I strongly recommend hiring a car which you can do at this hotel. The day trip purchased at the boat house was one of the best. To the staff that made our stay better ( Koko/ Anisha? So sorry about the spelling, main bar staff), thank you for being so wonderful ❤

We specially chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to spend some time with the family at this Resort. However, the first day turned out to be a nightmare! We happened to reach the hotel a little earlier, though check in time is at 15h00. Upon arrival, no explanation was given to us as to where the check in will take place or if we had any option for lunch. It was really hot on that day, with a baby of 2 years and a child of 6 years old we were a little bit uncomfortable. Check In was awful, crowdy, we ran in all the directions to for the rooms. We finally checked in at 16h00. Coming to the room, the kids wanted to sleep, we got a room next to the swimming pool, however, the noise of the loud music was very disturbing! we call the reception for a room change but the receptionist did not understand our problem instead told us that we are threatening them! I wanted to leave the hotel and asked for a refund! But the F&B team changed our mind and were very helpful. They took care of us and of our two kids, they organised a special wedding cake in a special location which we greatly appreciated. Food was good and service too. Thank you F&B team you were awesome!
The kids park was nice in an opened space as well as the swimming pool. The two places the kids did not want to leave!
Coming to water activities, I really did not appreciate the attitude of the staff who were rude and unpolite.
We are not difficult people and we like to enjoy the little spare time we get but with deep regrets, we shall not go back to this hotel, where guests are treated differently!

Maritim Crystals Beach was quite an experience! Being used to discover different hotels on our island we did expect a better service from a 4 star one! The hotel was not prepared to welcome a mass of client on the same day, it was quite messy and it was long to wait for the room and to have our luggage, we finally walked down the reception and see that our luggage were still untouched on the other side of the drive way.

The rooms clearly lack a good maintenance (cleanliness, jacuzzi was dirty upon arrival, mini bar empty, plumbing problems, electrical ones, cold water from the shower, no vape and despite having the AC on there were mosquitoes) All rooms equipped with an additional bed for the kids were not prepared, no sheets available on them. When we called to inform, they said that someone would come but no one did! TV was not working, had to reset them. On the last day, someone came to remove all the sheets on the bed around 10 a.m and removed some towels including foot towel, like as if we were no more allowed to take any more shower nor resting before leaving the hotel.

Regarding the restaurant service, overall breakfast, lunch and dinner was okay but the tea time nothing was tasty at all. Pastries not well cooked and the pancakes were tasteless.

Some of the team members were pleasant, polite and welcoming but some clearly did not have any good manners, being on the front with clients, being polite is a must.

The positive note would be that special requests were taken into consideration for my family. Both swimming pools were good and even the sea is easily accessible. Special thanks for the entertainment team who did great. We did have a good time since we were together with our family, we wanted to give us a treat for the festive season and we had to share our experience so that the service can be improved for future clients.

We went for a family stay and took 4 rooms. At our arrival, there were no cocktail personally served and when we asked for it, the front office told us that they were at the entrance on the table where there were other already used glasses next to the untouched cocktails. Like how were we supposed to know what cocktail was clean or not when they were all mixed up not to mention in this covid period.

When we finally got our room after 1h our or so, we noticed that the coffee and tea amenities were in paper cups. We visited many hotels and 3star hotels and never got paper cups in our rooms and this was so cheap for a 4star hotel like Maritim crystal beach to not even give us real tea cups.

The air conditioning was not working properly in my room. It did not go below 20 and coming to the bathroom, the shower gel and the shampoo were pinned to the wall near the shower cabinet. However we understand that the hotel is cutting cost and could not give us small bottles of shampoo and shower gel but the matter was that there were no shampoo nor shower gel placed next to the bathtub and the shower and bathtub were like 2meters apart. I literally had to run from the bathtub to the shower cabinet to get foam in the bathtub.

As mentioned in the hotel description, there were no pork served in the restaurant. There were not so many varieties of food except for the salad varieties that were great. The food tasted good but we would have expected a good variety of food served at each meal. There were no varieties in meat served only chicken and fish on one day or chicken and beef but not more that two varieties which was so frustrating as we expect more varieties and good food for the price we pay. The restaurant was less interesting than the other hotel we visited before. The dessert seemed so miserable and not elaborated. The chocolate or whipped cream were not good quality.

Last but not least, the front office made a reservation mistake and registered my brother-in-law for only one night stay, when he paid for 2nights. As by bro in law went for a massage and all services had to be paid on the last day, the hotel thought that he went back home without paying for his massage. They called him and stated that he went home without paying which was very humiliating as he was still at the hotel. What was more shocking was when he went to his room and noticed that the hotel already disactivated his roomcard. He had to go back to the front office to reactivate it again. That was really annoying.

On the last day, when talking to the manager and telling him about our awful stay, we were surprised to hear that he couldn’t do anything to remediate the situation and he only proposed us to stay until tea time which was at 4 pm approx. We decided to go back home as we were so disappointed and would never go to nor recommend this hotel.

"Safe, Fun, Thrill and Exotic combinations"
First of all, The Crystal Beach Maritim Hotel had put in place the required safety sanitary measures during the pandemic at all service centers such as restaurants, aqualand...

The hotel has invested in a new infrastructure which is the aqua land splash. There you can experience the Thrill of splash which is included in the package.

The spa provides relaxation and massage at very affordable rates and the staff are very experienced.

The main restaurant offered varieties of local and international culinary experience. You can also taste Turkish dishes at the Turkish restaurant.

The unique experience for us has been the Authentic and Exotic creole night organised which combined the traditional way of preparing food consumed some 125 years ago with ravenna music and sega.

Our sincere thanks go Mr Sam, Lovelesh, Shavi, Chef Avinash, Yoga lady, farata lady, aqua land team and all the staff of the hotel for their daily effort and contribution to make our stay a heaven....

We highly recommend that you choose the hotel to relax, enjoy and spend unforgettable moments among friends and family.

We asked for an early check in and late check out and the hotel refused, whilst other five star hotels around the island are giving that facility to clients.

Finally, we check in and check out at the same time as per the hotel policy. Afterwards, we noticed that some clients were granted late check out as they were carrying their luggages/suitcases from their rooms towards the parking. Favouritism to some clients.

Also, when we check in and check out, there was not even a greeting from the ladies at the reservation desk which made us feel uncomfortable during our stay at Maritim Crystal Beach.

Also, during our stay no personnel/staffs approached us to see if everything was ok, we were left alone.

Last but not least, at exactly noon on our check out day, the reservation sent a porter who knocked at the door of our room who asked us if we got luggage. For us, it was a message that we needed to check out!!!!!!!! We have never seen that elsewhere and we were really shocked and surprised as well!!!!!!What a service!!

At check in we did not receive a warm welcome from the ladies and not even a smile on their face as if they don't want to receive Mauritian people but on the day of the check out a porter came to our room and asked us if we had luggages!!!!!

The room also smells bad, the hotel in general needs a good renovation as well as the pool as the handles to hold when entering the pool were faulty and not well fixed. Anybody could get hurt.

Clients who have consumed their drinks and food left their glasses and plates everywhere in the premises or under coconut trees and the personnel of the hotel did not care about.

And of course the ladies at the reservation need some hospitality training as well as the spa who told me a price at the beginning and when her colleague came the price changed suddenly.

As per my experience, I would definitely not book Maritim Crystals Beach as for me it's not even a four star hotel.

Response from Erdinc Savul, General Manager at Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel Mauritius
Responded 13 Nov 2020
Dear C7883YFtraveller2020, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are truly sorry that some areas of your stay left you feeling underwhelmed, I am sure this would never have been our intention .We regret to read that we could not grant you an early check in and late checkout. We are usually very flexible for such type of request only when rooms are available. For such busy days, we do not give late checkout and if this has happened, it would be for a specific reason. We provide the service of a porter for all our guests who are checkout, and it is apparent that he came to pick up your luggage which is in our normal practice. We strive to meet our guest expectations and we use constructive feedback to achieve this. Thank you again for your comments, and we wish you all the best for your onward getaway. Best Regards, The Management

The biggest problems were with the room and the food.
The room lacked basic amenities. Paper cups were provided instead of proper cups. No shampoo or soap was provided in the bathroom. Shower gel only was provided in a dispenser, which was non functional and fixed to the wall. There was a bath tub located across from the shower tray, but couldn't be used as the shower gel was fixed to the wall and inaccessible from the bath tub. The mattress was very uncomfortable and hard.

The buffet in the main restaurant was super disappointing. There was lack of variety and the food was never hot enough. Chips, fried sausages, spaghetti, veggie pizza are daily features. No seasoning is provided and the food tastes bland. The menu is in urgent need of a review/ uplift. There was no room-temperature water or juice available.

Tea time offers at the aqualand were extremely lame with a choice of only two sponge cakes and ice cream.
Some of the staff members tried to be helpful but some seem demotivated.
The pools were good.
If you are ready to pay such a high price for a luxury hotel stay, it's best to try the nearby competitors as this hotel is definitely not a 4 star one

You guys have a different way of organising your treat which I really liked while going upstairs for shower after the scrub. I really enjoyed the lady who did my massage and the scent that was used for my message was just the one I needed and please keep it up. Your spa room was worth it and the way we were greeted made us feel very special as we like to feel very special. The hotel has a gorgeous setting overall as it makes you feel like you are in a new place with nice interior decor. Will definitely come back and keep up the good work 🙌🏽🏝🥂
