Kandolhu is just lovely! The staff and service is just spectacular. They welcomed us as soon as we landed and helped us all the way through our check-in process on the way back home. The staff remembered all of our picky requests. Asked for hot sauce once, been there for every meal after. They remembered our favorite drinks, and how we like them. This kind of personal service is just heartwarming. Plenty of excursions to do. The resort also provides free snorkeling gear and a GoPro to enjoy the amazing resort from below it's azure, crystal clear waters!

This was our 4th trip to the maldives and 7th resort . I research extensively before deciding on that next island and we always do a split stay We choose Kandalhu and Vakkaru for this anniversary trip. We were not disappointed! The Island. Kandolhu is pure understated elegance. It is the perfect small island . Very unpretentious on one hand and on the other hand working hard to give a 5 star experience which it does beautifully. It is the prettiest island we have been on so far, large wide swaths of white powdery sandy beach encircling the small shimmering island which we strolled around in 10 minutes.. The accommodations We loved our rooms 106 and 201 and think they are the best on the island. For the first 4 nights we choose a duplex beach villa room 106 which was spacious, and upscale with 2 levels the bedroom being on the 2nd. There were 3 bathroom areas including a wonderful outdoor shower and soaking tub. The pool was set almost right on the beach with nice unobstructed views of the ocean. We spent time enjoying both the deck by the private pool as well as the upper deck off the bedroom...it was great to hang out in the evening and watch the sun set since it faces west. The bed was super comfortable and we slept well. We spent the last 4 nights in overwater villa 201, which was smartly decorated and furnished. The views are stunning and panoramic since it is located on the end. Just exquisite! The deck is huge with several sitting areas to relax in.... Food. We were impressed with the quality and variety of the 5 ( yes 5!) restaurants on this small island. We loved them all especially the entertaining private dinner we had at Bonzai... the chef was talented in his presentation as well as preparing the gourmet dinner itself.. the breakfasts and sea grill were our favorites ! Sea grill is a great value with generous portions of tandoori or grill... all the restaurants are in romantic settings and we looked forward to our evenings out! The veggie pizza was delicious also with a thin crust and piled high with all sorts of vegetables ....The bar has wonderful ambiance right on the beach ... we were pleasantly surprised the resort offered us complimentary massages as well as a lovely candlelit dinner on the beach with champagne for our anniversary. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable on every way. Water sports we enjoyed complimentary kayaks and paddle boards daily. They also give each guest a go pro for snorkeling Spa/gym. Pat is wonderful and her kandolhu massage was probably the best massage I’ve ever had and I have had quite a few...we worked out everyday in the gym and thought it was well kept with a good choice of machines, weights etc... Snorkeling. The snorkeling was good to very good and we snorkeled around the island at least once a day. The reef is easily accessible from the beach. We saw rays, a lot of turtles, black tip , white tip and sleeper sharks, the usual abundance of colorful fish and squid. My husband went diving with Danny and reported back a fish soup in the extreme at fish head! One of the better dives he’s ever done... Staff. They were all outstanding... consistent 5 star service from all areas and from all the staff. It was impressive and very genuine. The personable managers Mark and Laura the host and hostess “ with the mostest” are dedicated to providing every guest with a very level of service ...they are doing everything right and round out the all star team ! They take care of their staff as well as their guests and there is a wonderful cohesive atmosphere that feels like family. We loved every minute of our stay and highly recommend Kandolhu to anyone looking for that perfect island. I honestly couldn’t think of anything they could improve upon!

Kandolhu is a small but beautiful little island were you can find fantastic food in all of their five restaurants. Since the island only have 30 villas you will never feel that the island is crowded. If you want piece and quiet combined with great food, this is where you should come. The house reef is just outside the beach and its full of life. Turtles, fishes in every color and small sharks makes the experience wonderful. We stayed in one of the two stories villas on the beach. The villa is very exclusive with its own pool and if you choose the all inclusive pages, you will find that the wine cooler with way over 30 bottles is always full. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived at the island we were welcomed by th General Manager with staff which was very nice. I would like to say thank you to all the staff and also would like to give a special thank you to Mae that fixed everything for us and handled our reservation. She is the best! Kandolhu will always have a special place in our heart and we will return for sure. Thank you for a great stay! Mats & Family

First of all i wanna thank to Mark, Laura and our star Estella. We stayed there one week and felt like in our home. They were all friendly and hospitable but these three people just touched our hearts❤️. Foods were delicious, we are still talking that we believe no where else we are gonna find same, comparing wherever we go. We recommend it to everyone who wants a relaxation holiday with people who will make you feel at home. Thank you very much everyone. Hatice&Brad

My family and I spent a perfect week in Kandolhu, Maldives. It was a fantastic, relaxing vacation in every aspect. From the moment we stepped foot on the island to the moment we left, it was an amazing experience. While on the island we never looked at the watch. Most of the days we did not know/care what day it was. Our schedule was very simple: eat, sleep, snorkel, drink, snack, swim, enjoy the views (in no particular order :-) ) The Island Resort: Kandolhu is a small island resort with only 30 villas. You can circle the island on foot in 5 minutes. The island is beautiful, the sea life is excellent, the rooms are amazing, the choice of food is great, the staff is perfect. I can go on and on... Before booking Kandolhu, I was thinking of going to a bigger resort thinking bigger resorts would have more options for food and entertainment, but I am glad we chose Kandolhu. Despite its small size, it has everything you need and more for a great time. The Villas: We stayed in a duplex pool villa and an ocean pool villa. The duplex pool villa has two levels, two bathrooms (one outdoor), a pool and is right on the beach (though every villa is). We loved the second-floor balcony for stargazing. I can't say enough about the ocean pool villa. We loved everything about it, the views, the bathroom with full glass panels that opened, the deck, and the ability to just step into the lagoon for snorkeling. And you have great sunset views from the Ocean pool villas. The Staff: Most amazing staff. Kandolhu has an international staff. We interacted with employees from the Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Italy, Indonesia and I am sure some other countries. They all had one thing in common, they knew how to provide excellent service. Our requests were always addressed with enthusiasm and professionalism. I will mention few names I still remember here Mae, Linda, Deshan, Jason, Maan, Chef Raghu, Pato, Estela, Leslie. I feel really bad as I don't remember all the names, so I would say this to everybody at Kandolhu, "If you interacted with my family even once while we were there, please know that you provided the best service, period. Thank you! Snorkeling: Based on other reviews, we expected snorkeling/sea life to be great at Kandohlu, and we were not disappointed. There is snorkeling for every level (and I can't even swim). You get to see amazing sea life just from the beach without stepping foot in the water. We saw rays, sharks, fish swarms, and turtles from the beach and the jetty and then we started snorkeling .... . I could safely snorkel in a very large area despite my inability to swim. My family did their first dive with Pato and Leslie at the dive shop and had an amazing experience. In this aspect, you can't go wrong with Kandolhu. The Food: We are a vegetarian family, so we were prepared to deal with limited choices. However, Laura (assistant manager) had assured us during the booking process that food choices won't be an issue and it wasn't. Amazing food from breakfast to dinner. Chef Raghu even prepared off-menu Indian dishes for us on multiple occasions. The breakfast at the Market was amazing. While Ata Roa has a very small menu and seating capacity of 6, it really hits the mark on both taste and location. The chef at Banzai puts on a great show and the food is fantastic (yes, veg sushi was great). Our entire family is still craving Mango Panna Cotta with a scoop of mango ice cream we had there frequently. We love to travel, and our rule is to not visit a destination/hotel twice as there is so much to explore around the world. However, I just might break that rule and visit Kandolhu again in the future. For a holiday in the Maldives, I would enthusiastically recommend Kandolhu.
