Sleepless night in this spooky resort....
Situated in the langkawi' highest spot, the prospect of seriously bone chilling ghost make the 30mins trip to the hotel worthwhile.
The wind is so strong, blowing through the window sounds like the cries of a tormented child...
And the breakfast is terrible too...
Want to add abit of unpredictability in your travels? Then please book a room in this spine-chilling hotel!

The place look like it is haunted but my husband decided to stay here coz there's no more hotel left in cenang..we paid for 700 for two executive rooms for a night..at first, the walk through the hotel from lobby to the room was terribly horror..the view looks like the place is haunted..with the sound of wind howling I'm sure you can imagine it..when we first enter the room,we can smell the wet carpet, and the bed sheet is so covered with mist..lots of spider webs, the cabinet is cracked, and when I first entered the bathroom,I felt goosebumps..felt like someone is watching you from the mirror..my parents and my siblings stayed in separated room while me,husband and kids stayed in another room..at 11pm,I felt like there's something wrong with this hotel,so I decided to google this place and saw all the bad reviews bout this abandoned hotel..so husband decided to stay with my parents and others in the same room..at 3am,my brother heard there's a loud noise like there's someone trying to broke in into my room..and he saw a shades and sound of footsteps infront of the door..I can't tell u guys the full story bout my stay here,BUT I DO ADVISE PLEASE DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!NEVER!!!

I didn't stay here (Thank God) but for those checking a place to stay, take my word: PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLACE. I read some positive reviews especially from AGODA.com but seriously, whatever they said there, it is not true. We went to check the viewing tower, and while waiting for my colleague because he went to the toilet, I looked around. The reception's ceiling was full of spider webs. The guy from the reception was smiling at me and he looks more creepy like those horror movies that trying to be nice then later will slaughter you. My friend told me when he was back that the way to the toilet gave him goosebumps. Saw the amenities e.g. swimming pool full of leaves and extremely dirty. The hotel is really abandoned and a normal person cannot even spend a minute to sleep except if that person is really into a horror adventure then its a different story. Maybe even if this hotel offered free stay I will never ever grab it.

This property is in a beautiful location on Gurung Raya hill. But we had a terrible experience here.We stayed in this hotel for two nights. On the third morning we woke up at 6 by a missed phone call and discovered the door of our room is wide open and my handbag containing our passports and cash worth Us $ 1000 was missing. While searching my handbag my husband received the phone call again and this time a male voice instructed him over phone to go to toilet. My husband rushed to the toilet near swimming pool and found my bag there. The thieves returned us the passports only. And the phone call was coming from my stolen blackberry.
The most interesting part is that , on the previous evening when my husband asked a staff of the hotel, called Nai NAi about the direction of the toilet , he showed him the toilet near swimming pool. Though there are a number of toilets in the hotel premises, the caller indicated the same toilet which he showed my husband last night. On inquiry we came to know that Nai nai is not a staff of this hotel , but an associate of a staff called Jo. Still he was allowed to serve us food and to bring luggage inside our room.
It is also to be noted that at the time of theft, we were the only guests in the entire hotel (me, my husband our child , my sister and her husband) and there were only about five staffs. When we asked the hotel authority to help us , the owner offered us 500 RM, but did not take any initiative to get back the money. We went to the police but that also yielded no result.

This is from my real experience during my stayed at this hotel. I planned to stay 2 days with my family (including my 2 years old son) but i cant stay even 1 night in this hotel.it took about 30 minutes to arrived to the hotel. The road along the hill is not maintain so we have to drive very carefully as we can see landslides at some of the area at the hill. It because of rain season recently. So after we check-in, we have to walk (quite far) to the room. The room is nice but smelly (smell like long time the room is empty) and the cabinet full with dust.. The room also does not have telephone. This room have the balcony and our room is exactly on the top of swimming pool. The pool is not maintained and there's a lot of leaves in the pool and dirty. Awning structure at balcony also not maintain.
Then in the evening we drived to Kuah town to buy some foods and bring up to the room. At the time we drived up to hill,it's 8pm. The road along the hill dark and silent. So by the time we arrived to the hotel, it's around 8.30pm. There's nobody at reception area.. All is dark.. They even off the lamp at the lobby area. The staff was already locked the main door at lobby and only small door beside is open ( they told us the main door was close at 10pm but they closed it earlier!). At that time i was carried my son as he slept in the car. When we walked to the small door, i can hear sound of tiger! Felt like it near with us! I felt scary and asked my partner and he heard the same. So we walk fast to the room. After reach to our room, my partner go to the balcony to smoke.. He still heard the tiger sound and he get inside back. I told him that i dont feel safe here. We cant even see anybody in this hotel.. So i called number i received from receptionist (got when we checked in) and asked to check out from the hotel. During walk to go to the car, we still can hear tiger roar and snort..scary! The receptionist at Chenang at that time and asked if we can meet there. So, we met at chenang to return the room key and i get my deposit there.. At night we went to Kuah town and check in to another hotel..luckily there is available room for us..

This "hotel" has the distinct feel of being not of this world. I say this both literally (it is physically placed atop a tall mountain), and figuratively (its appearance lends a disturbing glimpse into a hellish otherworld). Upon approaching the crumbling, decayed facade the first thing you will notice is the eerie desolation of this place. There is no sign of life. Indeed this is a place that is devoid of any glimmer of light, happiness or joy. Just when you have acclimatised yourself to your direct environment, you are brutally accosted by the screeching howl of the wind which tears menacingly through the barely upright lookout tower. The sound of this howling wind, akin to a screaming banshee escaped from one of the inner circles of hell, will make even the most hardy traveller uneasy. The shadows cross the building and the ground beneath you, wrapping themselves in a suffocating grip around the buildings, your heart, and your very soul. It is at this point the creatures approach. Stealthily and calm, you barely notice until it is almost too late. You may not see the malevolent animals that stalk this cruel environment, but you will hear their bloodthirsty call as they surround you. Like Cerberus guarding the gates of Hades, these feral beasts do not welcome you. Just before you are overwhelmed with a feeling of utter damnation and dread, you will hopefully regain enough sense and composure to run as fast as you can, lest you be set upon by these wretched mountain wildlings.

In all seriousness, the place is a creepy dump. The buildings are in utter disrepair and surrounded by filth. As we drove back to our resort we could see a flickering orange flame coming from the mountain summit. Unless this is indeed a portal to Hell, the building was probably on fire and is now ashes.

If you want a good view of the island take the cable car instead.

We booked it without reading the reviews and based on the nice pool photo and some descriptions on booking.com. We stayed there couple of hours and after 8 pm when we were the only ones there just packed our things and basically escaped. We had time to read the reviews and the place itself was so creepy and terrifying that we could not stay there longer. I can't even think about staying the whole night in this place. Spooky!!! Don't trust the story of restaurants and spas and so on.. there isn't anything and the building itself seems to be collapse in every minute. How that place can be a hotel anyway?! Please don't go there!!!

I have not stayed here but this place is disgusting and a disgrace to Visit Malaysia.

Yes you get a great view but that is it.

How can this place pretend to be a hotel as the place is falling apart.

We used the toilets which are beyond belief.

The whole place exudes a degree of suspicion where i noticed 3 luxury cars parked in a private parking area,a Bentley,Merc and Jaguar. The cost of these would have paid to repair this dump.

DO NOT STAY OR VISIT THIS PLACE.

I lived in KL and stayed in this resort from 8th to 11th July 2014 with my parents.

Initially when I was deciding where to stay in Langkawi for our holidays, I read the reviews concerning this resort and was truly deciding against booking this place. However what made me change my mind was my parents are not the "beachy" kind of tourists. Beside during the month of July, it was really hot in KL and I was looking for a nice cooling place to relax and enjoy.

Armed with the knowledge that it may not be a 5 star hotel and it could be a creepy place to stay in, I booked a junior suite for 3 nights on the abovementioned date.

The road up to the resort took about 20mins and it is pretty winding. Along the way, we saw monkeys and grazing cows. The scenery was really lovely and the air was so crisp, fresh and cool. When we arrived, the weather was bright and sunny. We welcomed with open arms by Joseph, the resort manager and the staff. The first thing we did was to the 360 degrees observation tower where we had full view of Langkawi. We could see the airport, Pantai Cenang, Kilim geoforest park and lots of little islands that make up Langkawi. We were awed by the scenery.

Then we were led to our room which is a short walk away from the lobby via a bridge. To be brutally honest, the hotel was rundown with plenty of cobwebs and the bed sheets were damp from the mists. Even the toiletries smelled old and it did feel like the room was not occupied for a long time. However it was spacious enough to accommodate 3 of us. It has a bed area, a shower with toilet, a makeup table, a living room, a small pantry, a big balcony overlooking a beautiful view, 2 rattan chairs on the balcony, cupboards, desk lamps, drawers which are not very clean, a coat rack and a TV with some Astro channels.

During our stay, we have experienced different weathers. We had a storm in the middle of the night with flashes of lightning, misty and rainy morning with gusts of cold wind and bright, clear sunny sky too. My parents love their stay absolutely and so did I. Breakfast consisted of either Western or Asian food with coffee and juices. We were treated very well. Perhaps that was because we were the only staying guests. We felt safe staying as there was a latch which we used to secure the door every night before we slept. We were back in the early evening to see the beautiful sunset and in the early morning, we were up at the observation tower to see the sunrise and the fog clearing away.

Overall we had a good experience. My advice would be if you are looking to stay in crowded and noisy places, this resort will not be your choice. Also if you intend to use hotel amenities such as swimming pool, spa or are extremely fastidious about cleanliness or particular about food, then this resort is not for you. However if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, somewhere to relax, in need of fresh cool air to clear your head, early sleeper and an avid walker, the resort is a good choice to unwind away the stress.

As what others had posted in their reviews, please do buy some food and water as the drive up and down to the town areas could take up plenty of time. Bring your own toiletries like shampoo and toothbrush and soaps are provided. Close the windows at night as there are a lot of flying insects as the resort is totally surrounded by trees.

I did not stay at the hotel but it sure gave me the creeps. I went up with the intention of catching the view of the sunset from the viewing tower and was shocked by the sight of the place. The place was leaking all over (yes it was also leaking in the reception area). Saw 2 staff that wasn't at all interested in my group's presence. We even had to approach them to asked if there was any food at the resort (as I had read that there were a couple of restaurants at the resort) and they nonchalantly replied that there wasn't any and when I enquire about the the drink at the top (which I had read that the resort offers complimentary Chinese Tea which is included in the entry charge at the tower), the staff just replied that the place was under doing renovation works even though we didn't see and sign of any renovation works going around.. So we decided to explore the place ourselves and to our horror the place was really run down and would had easily be the perfect filming location for a horror movie. I didn't even see anyone else beside my group for the 30 minutes that we were there. I would give it a 0 star rating but that was not possible because of a minimum of 1 star rating..
