Detailed Reviews

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was not worth the money. The standard rooms at $50 are extremely basic. The executive room at $100 was nice and spacious but facilities were average.
The bar is lively and locals were very friendly and welcoming. Beer is 1100K for a Carlsberg and food ranged from 3000K upwards. Food was ok, but breakfast was poor. Often things were not available and you had to wait 20mins for an omelette. Filtered coffee often not available.
The bedrooms were very clean and staff very helpful. However they had no record of my booking even though I’d received two emails. There was no introduction to the facilities and no information at all in the room.
There were numerous electricity blackouts, so although I paid for aircon it didn’t work a lot of the time. WiFi signal was weak and I only got one 250MB voucher and then had to pay. It was hard to catch up on work emails.
I was woken at 6am because the shower heating from the room next door was in my room.
It’s a good 25 minutes walk into town. It would be useful if they had a basic map in the room and a list of facilities ie when breakfast is available, how to get taxi, cost of airport transfers etc.
The pool is nice but had lots of students using it at the weekend and conference guests sitting by it during the week. It was not a good place to relax.
Ive paid a lot less for much better facilities elsewhere. They either need to improve certain facilities or drop the price. It is much cheaper if you pay in local currency.

Bedrooms clean and all ensuite. Staff reasonably helpful and very friendly. Close to Zomba University so the centre block with a rather ambitiously called conference suite was well used leading to a bit of noise in the evenings

Good service and clean rooms. Food a little disappointing, and wifi is using skyband with vouchers (first one free). The grounds are lush and green. Staff are friendly, shower water hot and beds with nets.

Very poor value for money - disorganised, unfriendly staff, dirty room and kitchen, and the food was appalling. The bathroom was grubby with mould in the shower - I was booked in there for two nights but checked out after one night to find something better.

Stayed here for 5 days while in Zomba for business.
The guest house is very comfortable and the staff are lovely. There is ample hot water and AC. There were power outages while I was there but the generator was turned on promptly and worked well. The restaurant has standard fare but is well done. Breakfast is the usual choice of eggs, with some fruit, bread, chips and sausage.
The staff was attentive, rooms were clean and spacious (I was in a 'deluxe' suite). There is a sports bar that is fairly busy during football matches but I didn't find the noise to be an issue.
Would recommend when staying in Zomba.
