Stayed at this place for three nights while on business. Room is quite spacious and is kept quite clean. For a business traveller, i was disappointed by the lack of a comfortable working area. There's no work desk and the chair is so narrow one can hardly sit in there comfortably. The bed was so very hard, and mine was actually so squeaky i felt for anyone next door to my room each time i turned in my sleep. The meals were fair; but dinner kind of deteriorated each night. First night dinner was excellent ... third night, i hardly could eat it (the chef had changed).

The worst part of my stay was that, on the 2nd night, my colleague and i both had our rooms searched and our cash stolen from our rooms while we were having dinner. We alerted the receptionist, who called the supervisor, but it took a second round of complaining to get the supervisor to talk to us about the whole incident. That was so disappointing and left me asking about their customer care skills.

Cedar Place is located in Namiwawa, which is just outside the CBD. Its about a 5min drive and 20min walk from Central.
The accommodation itself is really nice. Its neat, clean, spacious and well maintained. I stayed in both the Executive and the Family rooms and they are both in their own right great rooms.
I asked that the room be booked for two weeks, arranged for one of my colleagues to stay in it for the 3 nights I was not there, but when I came back they had moved me to another room. This is fine EXCEPT I left my stuff in that room because I had booked it for 2weeks. Having my stuff moved left me very unsettled.

The food served there is not great. If you ever find yourself in need to order from their menu, rather not get your hopes up because they probably dont have what you want in the kitchen. They seem to have a major issue with supply. I never had a satisfying breakfast because they, again, dont always have enough ingredients to make it a proper full breakfast. Its a set breakfast menu, so not much choice and the "meat" they always had on the breakfast menu I didnt eat. things like gizzards and liver and such.

It was quite an inconvenience to have to pay each time you order from their menu or you get laundry done. A centralised system is really needed in that place so that you just pay once, when you check out. this also avoids things like me having to wait forever for them to sort out change.

I was really very pleasantly surprised. Firstly that this beautiful gem of a place is not already on TripAdvisor and secondly with the friendly service and comfortable accommodation and so affordable. Yes the breakfast is very basic and way to greasy to my liking but, it is an apartment so you don't have to eat their breakfast. And just because I am not used to oily food does not mean that the next person would not like it.
What impressed me is the nice rooms, the friendly service and the fact that nothing is to big or to complicated for the staff to handle. And everything is done with a smile and a "you are very welcome" reply.
I will definitely stay there again and I do recommend travelers to try this hotel for price and comfort.

Stayed for three nights. Never slept on a harder bed. The shower door doesn't close properly so water all over. Only one remote for the Aircons. No place to actually sit and work. Breakfast is a complete surprise what you will get. Somebody should start managing and maintaining the place urgently.

This place is quite affordable compared to some places within town that are even not better than this place—clean spacious air-conditioned rooms, clean beddings, spacious bathrooms, safe, small lounge inside the executive rooms, balcony with great views, kitchen with assorted kitchenware. Restaurant service is standard though, not so many options on the menu and it takes a while to have your food ready etc. Paid mk50k for a night.

There is new management at this hotel that's really turning it around. The room was clean and spacious, we had a small kitchen in our room, the shower was hot and had great water pressure, and the breakfast included is DELICIOUS. There are lots of options- french toast, muesli and yogurt, omelets, etc- along with cereals, fruits, and other sides, and you get an espresso, coffee, or black/green tea along with it! There's a great view of a nearby mountain from the cafe, and paintings by a local artist inside of it. Bed was a bit hard, but there were so many pillows! Located just outside of the hustle and bustle of Blantyre at the end of a quiet street. AC and cable TV in the rooms. I would definitely recommend it.

The Apartments are nice. The maids are wonderful but management is poor. We requested mosquito nets. We had two rooms. One room was provided with a net. The other was not, even after repeated requests. There is a problem with electricity in Blantyre; however, the hotel has a large generator. They turned it on for approximately 2 hours but never turned it on again, saying that it were broken. They took no steps to repair it. making living there very uncomfortable during the hot days and nights. It was not advisable to open the windows because of mosquitos and no mosquito net. This showed a great lack of concern for us as guests. No electricity, no lights, no AC, no hot breakfast in the morning as advertised..... I will not stay there again. We finally moved to another hotel... Kris Star Lodge; a much better place!

I was put up at this serviced apartment by a humanitarian NGO I volunteered with.
The compound was clean and well maintained. A desk was functioning as the reception staffed by not so friendly locals. It was located within a small cafe that served. The cafe serves the very average egg and cereal with no variety over the days I was here. It has an espresso machine, but the coffee is not great. The elderly that serves breakfast was very warm and pleasant.
The room was spacious with cooking facilities. I experienced some sort of mild allergy symptoms ie. running nose and sore throat, maybe as a reaction to an allergan in the room.
There were black outs every day and night, but these were city wide.
The tv had multiple satellite channels from South Africa.
The views around the apartments were scenic, as evident in the photo attached.

This is not a place I would stay at.

Room was not nicely cleaned, bed was like sleeping on concrete floor.

Food was reasonably priced but otherwise service not that great not to mention the condition of the room I stayed in.

Not maintained very well.
