The Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre garners praise for its spacious rooms with modern touches and panoramic city vistas. Guests are charmed by the property's cleanliness and modern atmosphere, although disruptions due to night-time music have been noted. Its prime location offers easy access to local businesses and attractions. The service at Amaryllis is frequently lauded for being attentive and professional. While the hotel is seen as providing good value, some guests advise watching for unexpected charges. Amenities, including a well-kept rooftop pool, elevate the guest experience.

We spent one night in the Deluxe Double room on the fourth floor which is where the Splash restaraunt, pool, gym and spa are all located.
We found the room very clean, spacious and quiet with beautiful views over Blantyre especially at night. Water pressure was great and the aircon very strong. The bed was also large and comfortable; we slept well. We couldn't fault the room at all! We also enjoyed the large balcony but it got direct sunlight in the mornings without shade making it quite hot. Since it was one of the larger balconies an umbrella could have been nice. We echo some previous frustrations on minimal and too small of parking spaces along with elevators that we never used because they took too long and were too crowded. We only had backpacks for luggage so we just walked up and down from parking to reception to room. This could have been difficult had we had more things we were trying to carry and it would be appreciated if attendants were around to help hotel guests transport their belongings- we personally didn't see anyone.
The pool was very clean and is even larger than it looks! It's a highlight for sure along with the entire Splash restaraunt and team who provided great service. Thank you!
We had dinner at Splash and really liked our lobster bisque and seafood pasta that both came with garlic bread. Very tasty! We also tried the mojito mocktail and thought it was great! One feedback is when asking for non plastic bottled water there were no other options for water. We would highly recommend looking into options for filtered yet non plastic water which is becoming more commonly offered now and very important. Breakfast which was included was fully adequate with enough variety for us and we definitely enjoyed it.
Overall we liked the vibe, views and amenities and would stay here again!

Best hotel in the warm heart of Africa.

After travelling across Malawi for six weeks, we stayed in four hotels, the last destination was Amaryllis in Blantyre. From the point of checking in at Amaryllis we were relieved to find a hotel that provides luxury and comforts that go beyond the usual basic stays that we had experienced in the other hotels. Memory at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

The views of mount soche from the room balcony is breathtakingly phenomenal. The room itself is spacious and stylish with beautiful decor, a good sized bathroom and all the expected amenities, not to mention a power shower which we always appreciate! The breakfast at level one was always a good start to the day offering many varieties. Sandeep, personally took out orders and ensured that the chefs Zaheer, Ritu Raj cooked us anything we wanted to satisfy our cravings. I have an egg allergy to which they were very accommodating to, for example making me eggless pancakes, small things like that go a long way. It was very convenient to have access to a mall that has a supermarket, Food Lovers Court with a huge selection of fruits and the Aroma D’cafe bakery which serves delicious patisseries. We also enjoyed the outside pool restaurant which had a lively atmosphere, overlooking the incredible view mentioned. The coffee here is particularly good, as is the tasty food. Watson in particular went out of his way to serve us.

Last but not least, I have to say the management at Amaryllis was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and had a positive attitude making guests feel very welcome. For sure, we look forward to returning to Amaryllis on our next trip in Malawi. Thank you for a great stay!

I checked in on a business trip but ended up inviting my family over for a weekend to create memories. Hotel rooms have a contemporary touch and breathtaking, expansive views from balconies. Our kids rated breakfast and meals highly for variety and deliciousness. It was heaven to our 2 year-old daughter - she literally thought we had moved to a new house and hired a bunch of really nice househelps. All this at less than $100/night. :)

Amazingly this is meant to be the highlight of the hotel industry in Blantyre, but my first experience was not very encouraging and has not welcomed me back.

From the start, with a very poor parking system with parking attendants that were not very helpful you just don't get the welcome feel.

At check-in (late afternoon) after doing all the normal formalities and paying, you then get told your room is not ready. When you do get your over priced room you then have to wait an average of 7 minutes to get an elevator to take you to your floor. The overall elevator system works very poorly and is not sufficient for the capacity of the hotel plus, the shopping mall and other amenities on offer.

The rooms are very modern and well finished, but the bedding is substandard and not very comfortable and try to avoid the rooms above and or below the pool area the smoke and ash from people smoking tends to come through or get thrown down. The staff are a little under trained and not very helpful. No body could get my room safe to work and they didn't seem worried to getting it addressed.

It's also the first hotel I have ever been charged for drinking water in the rooms, and the water was very heavily priced. The stairways, lobby, and public areas are all very congested especially at the weekends and one has to question the level of security for those sleeping in the hotel.

Sadly I don't see myself attracted to come back to this establishment any time soon, despite all the hype social media attention the hotel is currently getting. I do hope some of these issues can be considered and or addressed.

All-in-all it was not a pleasant experience

View is fantastic. Nice shop food lovers is cleanest in blantyre. Warm food to takeaway.
Pool area nice, but music too loud. Pool area restaurant is very nice to have some lunch.
You can enjoy pool even if you are not client, but you need to buy ticket 12.000 kwacha zbout less than 12 euros per person.
Inside cafe is good. Inside restaurant not so.
Smoothie bar ix good if they make avocado smoothie with soft ice cream.

Amaryllis hotel is most affordable and comfortable in centre of Blantyre, with all necessary services provided under the roof. You have access to Pool, in-house restaurant, SPA, food market etc. also they started new Asian restaurant named Zaffron.
I’m touched with the staff support in all matter. Rooms are cleaned daily as per all COVID norms, and breakfast is amazing. Also you can order as per your wish and Chef cook your suggest food within minutes only for you.
The mountain view from my room 707 was breathe-taking. I stayed for a month with them and my stay was well managed and comfortable.
All the best to Amaryllis Hotel and staff.

Stunningly new, comfortable and very homely this new hotel is very promising. The view form the deck and pool is stunning during sunset and sunrise. The restaurants are very chic and the decor is enough to feed your hungry eyes. There is enough to satisfy all types of palates from meat lovers to vegetarians and the seafood afficionados. All in all this hotel has much potential. The parking was excellent because it was very spacious and indoors, two details that will surely make things very convenient to the clients.

I stayed for 15 days and the hotel never disappointed me. The service was great, the Indian food was amazing with Chef Mandeep outdoing himself every time and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. I had to cut short my trio due to sudden quarantine measures introduced due to Omicron variant of COVID 19 and Ajit, a manager at the hotel, organised an urgent PCR Test without which I could not have travelled. I was very well taken care of and enjoyed my stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Blantyre.

Ever since Amaryllis opened in Blantyre, I booked to stay there every time me and my family visited Malawi but this year the standards are sooo low!!! Maybe change of management or what I don’t know. Please don’t stay here, I spent 14 days at this hotel and it was my worst nightmare holiday! The chefs don’t even know how to make a full English breakfast (mind you this is a 5 star hotel) the place stinks, there’s no Covid precautions whatsoever. Don’t listen to their social media. They are the worst liars! They are better hotels in Blantyre now than this trash..
