Travelled during covid times but our experience was just awesome. We had the lodge to ourselves for an entire day since the other visitors left the day we arrived so it made our stay even more special. The SOPs were keenly followed by the management and sanitisers and washing areas are located around the lodge. The rooms are very spacious and the interior is amazing and they have a view directly facing The Majestic Kilimanjaro. The staff are very friendly and act in accordance with the visitors wishes! The food was amazing and the Chef even asked us on what to make based on our wish which was awesome! The receptionist Moureen was very kind and helpful together with all the other staff members that interacted with us throughout our trip. The lodge has an amazing location within it that offers a breathtaking Panoramic view of The Kilimanjaro itself and the landscape has no words to describe its beauty.I was very impressed by my stay here!💯

Kilima Camp was a beautiful place to stay. The rooms were very homey, clean and had minimum essentials. The camp had strong WIFI in the dining area and the hotel itself is located right next to the Amboseli Park entrance and well secured.

As a family we enjoyed swimming and relaxing at the hotel pool and an added bonus was we had it all to ourselves for three days.

The staff was very nice and accommodating and we would definitely travel again and visit this camp. Special thanks to Linette and Maureen for catering to us so well. We really enjoyed the food from Chef Mwangi as well he is a great cook.

We traveled with Bonfire Adventures and our tour guide Ruben was amazing he was very friendly, patient, knowledgeable and great at spotting animals in the Amboseli National Park as a family we really enjoyed this experience.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at kilima. Check was smooth. Rooms are spacious just need a bit of attention to cleanliness and replace of towels once requested. Food was great with variety to choose from. Reception was great with providing information they organized a vehicle and guide for the game drive drive. The swimming pool is big and provided clean towels, and there were enough day beds. We enjoyed our stay.

When reading the reviews of this camp we had high expectations. Sadly these were not met.

We paid full board for our trip in Sept 22. However please note that this does not include drinks. You only receive free tea and coffee and a small bottle of water in your room. Everything else is chargeable including soft drinks such as water, sprite, coke. It was also buffet food which we found to be cold the majority of the time and lacked any flavour.

The bare bones of the camp was all there, they had a nice bar area, nice restaurant area, 70+ huts to stay in and a nice watchtower but unfortunately they suffered from a lack of maintenance/ upkeep. Our room looked great when we first walked in but we soon found multiple things wrong, the bath wouldn’t hold any water, the bed was literally like sleeping on a plank of wood and there was only one plug socket.

We visited the pool area once, which was enough when we saw the bar was shut, no staff members were in the area and the pool was unclean.

The staff at the hotel were friendly but it really felt like they had not been given any proper training or support with their jobs, we visited a camp in Masai Mara where the staff were fully trained and you immediately notice the difference. One staff member who was very good was James who always made sure the room was clean and was very friendly.

We had heard that most staff are not hired via a contract and therefore are not provided with the training and language skills to help them flourish.

The camp is placed in a great location as it is right next to the wildlife conservancy gate and the views from the watchtower are really nice.

It felt like the camp could be great but the owners have not put any proper investment into it. I wouldn’t stay there again unless major changes took place.
We left a day early because of all of the above and we made that decision pretty quickly after arriving.

It is certainly not 5 star as it’s been perceived on trip advisor and booking.com

Kilima Safari Camp was the 2nd place we stayed in our 4 day/3 night safari. Initially, on arrival, the place seemed nice. We had lunch and the food was ok. We travelled with a group of 57 people, some couples, some families and some single. Anyone who had booked a single room and had paid extra for it, were now told that there wasn't enough rooms and they would have to share. This was crazy as most of the single people didn't even know each other. My wife and I then checked in and were handed a key with the room number written on masking tape!. One of the staff asked us what room we were in so he could help with bags, but when we told him room 74 he didn't know where it was. The room signposts around the resort only went as high as room 72. As we walked to the room, the path stopped and we walked on a dirt trail with no lights and needed the torch on our phone to see where we were walking. We got to our room and this is where things got even worse. The walls were filthy, particularly around the light switches. There was a small kitchen area with dirty glasses in the cupboards and broken doors. There was a large mirror just leaning against the wall. The bathroom had a plastic cup with cleaning products in it. The curtains were old and frayed and hanging off the wall. The wardrobe was disgusting with broken drawers and dirty shelves. This was clearly not a room that guests would stay in and it appeared to be some sort of staff accommodation. We went back to reception to complain. The only thing worse than the awful room was the staffs attitude. They were non-responsive and just smirked at us. We asked if this was a room they would normally give to guests and they said that this was a family room!! We spoke to a manger who gave us the same response. I've stayed in a lot of different places around the work, from hostels to hotels but this is by far the worst place we have ever stayed.....I'm just glad we only had to stay 1 night at this dump.

We spend three nights at the Kilma Mara Camp while doing game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp was just what we wanted for our photo safari. The tent was comfortable and the food was great. We were able to access internet in the lodge area. It was a new experience having a guard walk with us when we were outside. A number of animals approached the camp while we were there including elephants and giraffes. The camp provided bottled water, but I was glad I brought an steripen to treat more water.

The Kilima camp was a comfortable and convenient base for out visit to Amboseli being only 5 minutes from the entrance to the National Park. Please note this is a camp, not a hotel, but with all the "bells and whistles". We slept well and were well looked after. The buffet meals were good with plenty of choice. Water is provided in rooms but not at tables (unless included in your package). Drinks were very reasonable $4 for a beer, for example. Sadly the area was in drought when we visited due to late arrival of short rains, so we saw too many dead animals in the park, but plenty of wonderful wildlife too. We hope rains have come as it's a beautiful area and the people were lovely.

Nice hotel from the outside but if you compare to propertys in same price range it's below avarage. Whatever the hotel may tell you this place is not wheelchair accessible or suitable for people with walking problems. Many stairs only one homemade really steep ramp wich doesn't fit at the rooms. Room big and impressive with a nice bath and separate shower however the bath was broken more water on the floor than in the bath, shower had no strength so almost impossible to wash your hair correctly. Dinner and breakfast not served as a buffet anymore. So for dinner set soup and salad no choice, 2 choices of main and no choice for dessert(fruit). Breakfast however was still good since you could order eggs etc the way you want it. We checked out after one day and got to kibo wich is 1 km the other way and had a perfect stay there for less money wish we had booked there in the first place

Avoid this place if you want to enjoy the whole of your safari experience. I was with a group of 50+ from a wedding party who had this place booked since last year. It was the second night of a 4 day/3 night safari. When we arrived we were told that anyone who had booked and paid for a single room would have to share because they had double booked our rooms. Obviously this was unacceptable as many of us didn't know each other. We were told if we didn't want to do that we should stay in a different place. The staffs attitude was appalling.
Rooms and facilities are old and have not been maintained with broken light fittings all over the property, dirty wardrobes with doors falling off, safes missing and then to top it all off some of us were overcharged/double charged for drinks. A couple from our group was put in what can only be described as a dirty shack down the end of the property with no pathway leading to it. Even the staff didn't know where it was.

I wouldn't recommend this Safari Camp to anyone as I was treated poorly. They overbook rooms so on arrival you might find the room you have booked and paid for is not available! They also discriminate against solo travellers to make a quick buck.

I went with a large group which was booked by the tour organiser a year ago. I was travelling solo and had paid an extra single supplement as well to have my own room. On arrival I and all other solo travellers were told that there were not enough rooms and the solo travellers would have to share as there are no more rooms! Or we would need to find another hotel. Unbelievable!

In addition, the staff were rude, unfriendly, unapologetic and did little to make our experience better after this situation.

The beds were hard and you can feel the springs underneath as you sleep. The rooms were spacious and the property has potential but needs to be maintained better and the customer service and the booking approach needs major improvements.
