My husband and I have two small dogs which we take on weekends away. This location of Red Roof fits our needs perfectly as it is clean, pet friendly (with no extra pet fees) and has no carpet so easy to wipe floor after walking with dogs in the snow or rain. Without carpet, the room feels cleaner and is easier to maintain that feeling without any problem.
We can usually park right outside our room and there is a fantastic place to go for a dog walk across the street at the University of Buffalo.
Great pizza on the block at Zetti’s and a short drive to great shopping and other restaurants.
We always stay in this location because it suits all we need for an overnight in the Buffalo area. Thanks Red Roof!

We stayed at this motel during our NY Roadtrip. We stayed in upgraded KING room and it was a surprise for us to have such spotless room. We were expecting low lever of service as we stayed at Hotel all the time but this was true Gem for us. We will stay here for our future visit to Canada and Fall.

From the moment we arrived the staff was very professional and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. Every interaction with the staff was met with smiles. We would highly recommend this location to family and friends. Was very close to University of Buffalo.

I was a loyal guest at this hotel for years and this was the first time in 2 years that we returned for a long weekend getaway and wow, were we in for a shock this place has went beyond downhill! Upon check in the front desk staff member was not friendly, dressed in street clothes (to the point we were not sure whether or not he was even an employee) and we immediately noticed the signs posted everywhere about no drug use, that all guests in the room must provide ID, notices about room deposits etc. many things that were never posted in the past. We also noticed how dirty the lobby appeared to be. We got checked in, went to our room and as soon as the door opened the overwhelming stench of smoke came billowing out, we walked into the room and the state of the room was terrifying. The furniture was filthy and chipped, the bed had what appeared to be dirty pillows with no pillow case, the floor and windows were filthy but it was the stink that drove us back to the front desk to ask for a different room. Upon return to the front desk, the employee simply responded with “What happened?” we told him and he said okay here and gives us another room key. He tells us it’s in the room next to where we were first. We ask if there is anything else available in perhaps a different block of rooms and he said no and that it was all sold out despite the fact the parking lot was empty, it struck us as very odd as the only other people we saw were the several shady looking people lurking about in the parking lot, and peaking out of the windows as we walked by, many rooms were in darkness. We go to the second room and barely get the door open and it actually smelled worse than the first room. We returned and he said he would just refund us the money. No sorry for your troubles or anything just a complete non caring attitude, go away attitude. This left us scrambling at 11:30pm on a long weekend to find a room. We managed to find a lovely room at a neighboring hotel which was not that far off the price of the Red Roof, had friendly employees and clean rooms. We felt safe and secure which I guarantee you we would not have felt at the Red Roof. Such a shame, this use to be our go-to place to stay but it is definitely the end of era. This place is so shady and run down, save your money and go elsewhere.

We had one of the most awful experiences we've ever had staying in a hotel and will never stay there again. We had to ask for toilet paper. We had to ask for fresh towels. We did not see housekeeping once all week. We saw numerous safety violations including: loose deck slats, open doors to unrented rooms where anyone off the street could've walked in and spent the without anyone knowing, cracked light switch plates among other things. The sink was also slow to drain after brushing teeth or shaving. There was garbage and food under the bed, I even found an adult toy package under the one bed. My 3 year old's feet were black from just walking around our room. Overall, the room was just NOT CLEAN and short staffed or not it should've atleast been clean. We are not the only one's to have complaints, we learned of others experiencing issues also after speaking to a gentleman staying in the room next to us and also my husband overheard another guest expressing an issue when he went into the office to ask for toilet paper.

My stay was during the Coronavirus pandemic. The carelessness here is unacceptable. The health department should shut them down.

Upon my arrival the room smelled like smoke. I found used cups stacked with the clean ones. Dirty pet dishes under the bed and on top of the refrigerator.

I called down to management 3 times. They refused to return my money and didn't offer me another room.

The only way I can rationalize that no one has reported them is that people are too ashamed to admit they stayed there.

The only reason I booked my stay here is because I read the reviews that it was "clean." And because I thought it would be safer to stay somewhere where I didn't have to go through a lobby or enter an elevator.

To reduce the risk of getting the Coronavirus.

Nervous about the situation I spent 2 hours cleaning and disinfecting the room. I left the room 10 times cleaner than when I arrived.

At night I heard cars coming and going. People knocking on doors and yelling in the parking lot.

It sounded like illegal activity to me. All during the "stay home" recommendation by the Government.

The customer care department refuses to refund me for my stay. I feel certain they've done nothing to improve the condition of the hotel.

Also, upon checking in and checking out no one was wearing a face covering. I could go on with more details. But this should be enough.

I repeat. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We were loyal guests at this hotel for years and this was the first time after 2 years we returned for a weekend. Boy we were shocked to see how rundown and shoddy this place has become! We booked a superior king room and were shocked and dismayed when we entered our room. The carpets were filthy the flush wasn’t working so we requested a change of room. We went to the reception desk and he gave us keys to a new room. When we opened the door of the other room we were surprised to see the condition, see attached pic. We went back to reception again and showed him the picture he was very apologetic and mentioned they had a premium double room. We expected it to be much better than the other two rooms. We opened our room only to find the same filthy conditions. The carpets were dirty, bed linen had holes. At this point we were so tired so decided to stay. We went to have a shower and there was no hot water. Bear in mind the weather was cold outside so we called reception and he said he will try and fix it. We waited for half an hour and finally we decided to have a cold shower. He did come later to check the faucet and said to run the water for a few minutes. We did as was told but there was still no hot water. The heater was not working had to sleep in a cold room. On checkout we told the receptionist about our horrible experience for the past two days. I inquired from reception about who was the manager and for his email address. When he gave it to me I asked him if there was a change in management and he said yes. I am writing this message to you to make you aware of our terrible experience. We did write an email to the manager about a refund, still awaiting a response. Please don’t stay here! WORST PLACE EVER!

I booked through priceline due to budget reasons and they were $50/night cheaper than neighbouring hotels but I did witness:
1. Person walking away from room due to uncleanliness after checking in
2. Person with a priceline reservation and front desk said no rooms available and refusing to give them a room
3. Run out of keys for the rooms due to lack of cards
4. My room smelled like smoke even though it was supposed to be non-smoking
5. Floors were filthy, carpet taken out and wood floor, took a shower and water was black after cleaning feet

I won't give them 1 star just based on the fact that this a economy budget hotel and you pay for what you get. The staff was friendly and fixed what they could immediately ie lightbulb replacement within 15 minutes

Watch out for the service charges, $1.50/day for safe I did not use.

Vote yes if you found this useful

Can you imagine the sink looking like this upon arriving at your room? Hair in the sink is inexcusable a clean sink is not difficult to achieve The last photo is the back of the bathroom door I don’t know what that substance is , maybe blood? The dismissive attitude of hotel staff was disrespectful. Additionally, I checked out at 8 o’clock in the morning and neither the walkway. or parking lot had been shoveled or at the very least salted/sanded. This is Amherst I expect better.

We arrived later and in the middle of a thunderstorm. Once we go all our belongings up to the second floor, we were tired and just wanted a hot soak and bed. The first thing was the ceiling. Over 50 percent of it showed a yellow water leak mark with half of that section peeling and cracked. The next thing was that the bathroom sink taps hot and cold were reversed. The tub had the beginnings of mold at the floor and around the surround. The toilet had residue at the bottom of it like it hadn't been properly cleaned in months. Whoever painted the unit last left white paint drips on the floors, TV, wooden wall hanging, towel bar and mirror.
The shower curtain had some sort of brown stain on the one side. So, very tired and I didn't want to venture out into the storm o switch rooms, we closed the main blinds and crawled into bed. But of course upon closing the blinds, they were covered in what looked like either a coffee pot blew up or dried blood splatter all across them. Then going to the bed, we found two pieces of some sort of plastic tips (possibly off a cigar case or a needle) in with the covers. NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!

Do all of the rooms have refrigerators and microwaves?
Answer from RRI104
Amherst
Not all of our rooms have microwave and mini-fridges. If you book our deluxe double or Superior King room both of those rooms come with a microwave and mini-fridge. If you want our best value I suggest booking the Premium King or Double. Those rooms comes with hairdryer, in room coffee, iron and board, and microwave and mini-fridge along with a snack box for each day of your stay. That box includes a bottle of water, orange juice, two granola bars, trail mix, and popcorn. I hope this helps if you need further assistance please call us at 716-689-7474
