This was my fifth visit to Gwango and I'm pleased to reaffirm my view that this is absolutely the best value for money Accommodation in the area, and in fact the facilities are pretty much equivalent to the much pricier alternatives in Hwange. The staff always have a smile for the guests and the game rangers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The Night Safari Drive is a must for a different perspective and look at the nocturnal animals. Looking forward to visiting again next year!

We spent three marvellous days in Gwango Heritage Resort! The location of the Camp is very close to the national park gates, the room was verly clean, nicely furnished and had a nice big bathroom. Also, there is a lovely and clean pool area, which was nice to use to cool down.
We booked a three day Safari Package, which included two safari trips into the National Park and two shorter safari drives around the property. We were very happy with our guide, since he was well educated and considerate, and told us a lot of interesting facts! The price was very reasonable, since food was also included. The food was veeery tasty, with a lot of variety and big portions!

The staff in general was very polite and attentive. We would loove to come back here!

We styed here for two nights after visiting Hwange, as the camp sites in Hwange are also overpriced but the ablutions are very bad. The camp site is neat and tidy, although there were quite a few staff members or workers passing through all day, it was relatively private. Ablutions neat, but it is more of a stay over than a place to holiday.

When we arrived there must have been about 7 lady staffers in attendance at the reception. Gretha and the others were very friendly and helpful and it is their enthusiasm that the group spoke of and remembered. The owner Elizabeth was in attendance in the kitchen to see that the orders were correctly prepared and served and accommodated guests requests..

I visited Gwango with my family, which is located just 800 meters from the Hwange National Park and we had a great time. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I liked the natural and chic decor throughout the lodge, which gave off pleasant African vibes. However, the rooms are a bit of a walk from the rest of the facilities, which may be inconvenient when you’re tired. The restaurant’s menu was a bit limited and could be improved. This place has limited connectivity and is perfect for those who want to disconnect from the connected life for a few days. We spent most of our time at the pool above the bar, cooling off from the heat in Hwange. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to witness the elephants drinking from the pool, but I would definitely visit Gwango again.

it was a great idea that I chose this option for traveling around Zimbabwe, not through an agency, but by self-booking via booking.com. You can buy a game drive on site, great staff, a place close to nature and the Hwange National Park, it was a great option when traveling around Africa. Elephants came, we had a great time!!! game drive, my heart will stay in Gwango Heritage Resort. The place is very spacious, great rooms, very good food.
Special thanks to Mduduzi Safari Guide. We were incredibly lucky to have him as our guide, he is committed and passionate, we felt special thanks to his guidance. Then we were in Chobe and it was commercial there, we were one of many, and thanks to Mduduzi and his work we had a feeling of something special in Hwange. Anyone who has Mduduzi as a guide will really be very happy with any game drive.

Lovely place to stay with chance to see animals at the watering hole (or swimming pool). Very friendly staff, make you feel so welcome. Food was lovely and so nice to see a vegan dish added to the menu (which was delicious!). Prices were also very reasonable.

Could be 5 star..just needs fans in the rooms as my goodness it was so hot!!
Great game drives with Marko, day and night.
Would definitely recommend this place, it's small, intimate with a lovely relaxed vibe.
Don't be worried about finding small droppings in your room, the lizards like to visit but scurry away very quickly.
Make sure all food is in plastic bags to deter them.

Camp site is a good location close to the park for entry, helpful staff, neat campsite and ablutions kept clean. We had a good comfortable stay. Entertainment area is half a building site at present, close to completion, will be a nice place to eat and relax by the pool.

Had the most fantastic 3 days at Gwango in January. We were blown away by the subtle beauty of the lodge, attentive and friendly staff and the great value for money- every aspect of our stay was fantastic. We arrived late by public transport, but Thulani was patiently waiting and transferred us to the lodge. Ashley at the front desk was warm, welcoming and ever so helpful. Our guide Fortune gave us excellent game drives and a really interesting cultural tour. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend Gwango to anyone looking for an authentic and reasonably priced safari experience.

My friend and I recently stayed for a few days in Gwango Resort , We were instantly impressed with the beautiful and immaculate buildings . Fantastic attentive and friendly staff .Great food and beautiful stylish sleeping accommodation. We were particularly impressed by Fourtune our safari guide. He was very knowledgeable , polite and eager to make our trips as enjoyable and informative as possible. With his guidance we managed to encounter most of the wildlife in the park . Also his passion shone through with his knowledge of the history and culture of Zimbabwe. He made it a trip to remember . Thank you so much from Justin Preece and Adrian Gunner .

No it’s not inside the gate so you are limited to the parks opening hours which currently I think are 7am. Gwango is a lovely place to stay but is maybe a 15 minute drive outside the Main Camp park entrance.
