The hotel is quite expansive and located in a very nice location not far from the Victoria falls. Grounds are quite neat and well kept and the rooms are quite spacious and neat and tidy. The kids appreciated having a TV showing kids channels for evening entertainment. The food is good. We had a hippo scare one evening but that is a part of the African adventure! Only downside was no wifi in the rooms but they promised they were working on it the whole time we were there!I hope they finally did!

Chrismar Livingstone has seen better days. It is however a clean and safe place to stay while you are in Livingstone which is huge positive. It is not, by any means a dump, but there are a number of things that you will notice.
Positives include good location, clean rooms, friendly staff, price, reliable air-conditioning.
Negatives include inside the room we had lights that did not work, the shower dribbled (if the sprinklers outside were turned on,) broken toilet seat, doors that did not shut properly. Outside the room the timber deck between the breakfast room and the pool bar is dangerous and needs replacing - someone will fall through soon, phones inside the rooms were not working, advertised free internet in our room was also not working. Laundry was not returned and it took a couple of days to be followed up.

Spent three nights for a conference with colleagues from all over Africa, Europe and USA. The facilities have improved slightly from my last visit there but a lot of work needs to be done to have this hotel of really acceptable standard.
Reception area is not inviting and requires some attention. Staff polite and helpful but one can immediately see that they lack support to make them excel.
Rooms are clean, sleep is not easy because the AC is too high as a result it is ineffective.
Surrounding is well maintained but too many water points and this become source of mosquitoes.
Food is tasty but served late. This makes management of a conference extremely difficult.
There is need to employ an event management person who will attend to the many queries but the conference rooms are fair.

Sadly Dreadful. We have stayed here before and had a great experience. Not so this time. Booked and paid in full via Hotels.com for 6 adults. We expected 3 doubles or 2 triple rooms but found we had only been allocated 2 rooms (supposedly doubles but only equipped for one person really). We then had to pay $250 for an additional room. We had travelled for several hours and were looking forward to a lovely shower only to find no water at all - and no offer of any bottled water to drink. No-one mentioned the problem when we checked in but on enquiring we were told that there was a problem with the water supply. It was not restored until the following day. And on the water being sorted, a bath in one of the rooms immediate filled up with dark brown filthy sludge. We are not strangers to Zambia and understand that water and other services may not be totally reliable but the lack of any customer care made matters much worse. The hotel itself is very dated and the rooms badly need refurbishing. The gardens are beautiful and the service e in the swim up bar was great. I don't blame the staff at all for the issues but the management management really need to to take responsibility. We have previously enjoyed staying here but would not book again. The location is fantastic for the national park and we had wonderful game drives and a brilliant party night and wildlife viewing from the cruise on the Zambezi Sun. We have since our return been trying to get Hotels.com to resolve the issue with paying for an extra room but they don't respond to emails and cut you off on ther online chat. In short. No-one is interested. Shame really.

The room was infested with mosquitoes with some bad smells from the planks, shower room had spider webs on the corner, veranda spider webs seem to have been there for ages. Booked three rooms and one room had no air-con, requested for repair but nobody showed up. The wardrobe and chair in the room need to be replaced. On our second night, the roof was dropping some brown moist direct on our bed, guess from the plastic that they use with the grass thatching. Had to check out a day earlier as everyone felt uncomfortable. Breakfast was good but cold.
Nevertheless, the staff are friendly and always available to help. The bar pool was superb but the room experience, where we needed to rest, ruined everything.
Hotel is close by Mosi-O-Tunya National Park.
Not fit for a four star hotel!

Beautiful place but zero service delivery and poor customer service. Quite unfortunate because the price is too high, there is no value for money. While I have been here, waiters forget the meal orders, the Wi-Fi isn’t working, and mosquitoes galore

A lifesaver quite literally....the only place in Livingstone where the Internet was fast enough for me to do my online work! On top of being welcomed even as a day tripper by Cathy and Chungu the staff were superb. Food is a must too!

This hotel is a little gem. The lodges are large clean and spacious. The pool and pool bar is lovely. All the staff extremely friendly and happy. And yes they don’t seem to get everything right, but they get it wrong with a smile. You ask for towels you will get soap 🤣. Foods not brilliant, but breakfast is good. But it is a fabulous hotel, central to the riverside, where the sunset is amazing, and food good. And extremely good value.

Worst stay ever in Livingstone. The showers were cold. The breakfast was served cold. The bathrooms flooded. Despite repeated reporting to the front desk nothing was done about it. Twice frogs were found in the room. To enjoy Livingstone and the falls stay anywhere else but this hotel. Radison would be my choice but that’s another review

My husband needed to do some work in Livingstone for two days and then we were off on holiday. When we arrived at Chrismar we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff members in a lovely reception area and we were taken to our room through a lovely restaurant/pool/bar area but that was about where it ended.

The rooms are very out -dated, dark and the air-conditioner did not work properly. We did inform reception of the problem, which they sent a guy to have a look but the problem still continued; so for two nights it was very hot and unpleasant.

There are two restaurants at Chrismar: the main one, which we walked through from reception to our room, and another one tucked away behind the back of the car park, which was terrible. We were told that due to a conference being hosted at the hotel we needed to eat at the second rate restaurant for Lunch and Dinner; we decide to give lunch a try and weren't surprised by the substandard food, decor, ambiance etc. We ate breakfast in the main restaurant, which was good; the only gripe being that they only offered juice to drink and no water, particularly problematic considering how hot it was and how quickly we dehydrated. When I requested some water they were hesitant to bring, as there was a charge for water, this seemed to cause a procedural problem for the staff as the rest of breakfast was complementary. Having felt uncomfortable with the whole water ordeal we went into town and bought bottles of water at Shoprite. This is where Ocean Basket is, which is a great seafood restaurant. Another favourite, which we discovered in Livingstone, is a curry restaurant called Golden Leaf, an amazing little gem!!
The other issues we experienced at the hotel didn’t end with the air-cons not working but the gym facilities were out of order, Internet was very slow or didn’t work most of the time and the Hotel is in need of maintenance. In short, Chrismar has some potential, but has a long way to go before it realises that.
