On the bucket list - you won’t be disappointed Stayed at The River Club with my husband and his brother last month - the location is fantastic because it’s away from the helicopters 🚁 and the like buzzing around if you stay closer to the Victoria Falls. The best really is

The extraordinary place right on Zambezi river, run very competently, by highly dedicated people. One of a kind. The owner, a man who dwarfs Indiana Jones, is a goldmine of information on the history of Africa. Take advantage of this opportunity when at The River Club.

Dear J L Thank you so much for coming to stay with us and thank you for your kind stamp of approval. I have been very lucky to learn from others along the way and even luckier to have so many good people working with me here. Do, please, come back and stay again, for you would always be very welcome. Best wishes, Peter and all at the lodge

We spent 3 nights here as part of an escorted tour with Alexander+Roberts. Covering Victoria Falls and several destinations in South Africa, this was the first stop on our 12-day tour. The tone was set upon arrival at the airport when we were offered the choice of making the

Dear RogersParkTraveler Thank you so much for your very detailed review of your stay with us at The River Club. Your words are most kind. Thanks must also go to Alexander and Roberts for scheduling the series you were on to come through the lodge. The advantage, of course, of being a little distance away from the Falls means that we are not under the flight path of the helicopters which buzz the Victoria Falls all day long. This in turn allows our guests to enjoy the lodge surroundings and the river cruises in a setting of peace and tranquility. We have just begun our next round round of annual refurbishments now that the season has ended and I hope hope you will like the changes we will be making when you come back for another visit. Warmest wishes and have a wonderful Christmas. Peter and everyone at the lodge.

Dear Susan, We provide bottled water for you to drink and all the water the the rooms used for showers, baths etc has been filtered and is absolutely fine, even for cleaning teeth. We spray the hotel surrounds twice a month in the rains to control mosquitoes and as a result, as Casey 2230 says, we hardly ever see them. Zambia was taken off the yellow fever list a couple of years ago and in fact the Zambia has not had a problem with yellow fever for 46 odd years. Remembering that Zambia is bigger than Texas and we are located in the southern part of the country, it is some countries well to the north of us that may have the problem so we are well clear of it. Looking forward to meeting you, best regards, Peter Jones (owner).

Depends on time of year. We went late July 2016 and paid around $925 for the 2 of us which included everything. Loved, loved, loved it.

Good morning and thanks for your email. The Litunga suite is more for families. The two rooms are separated by a half wall which provides visual privacy only. There are two full bathrooms however at each end of the suite. There is also a small outside deck with a private plunge pool. This room currently is screened and has no glass windows. The suite is all on one level. The two bed areas have air conditioning over them with overhead fans. The Princess Mary suite is a double storey unit 180 sq m in size. The bedroom upstairs and bathroom is 49 sq m and has a balcony over looking the river. The downstairs bedroom has its own shower bathroom off the lounge and there is a door leading out to the private swimming pool from this bedroom. The suite has windows and doors throughout and is fully air-conditioned. This suite is bettered suited for 3 adults traveling together. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.

"You can't go wrong on any"
"There was no WiFi in our private cottage, but WiFi is available in the Summer House adjacent to the Main Lodge."
"Wifi in the communal areas. We stayed in the Princess Mary Suite which was brilliant."
"All cabins on edge of river. Some have better river views with less vegetation, but you don't spend much time there anyway."
"We loved staying in `Livingstone´, because this is the last unit, which has no glas cover front and gives us the noises of african nights"
