My wife and I have travelled across the globe and have been fortunate to stay at some incredible hotels and resorts. Recently we spent 3 nights at the Mukwa River Lodge while visiting Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia. This is a brand new, full-board lodge that is on the Zambezi River. Our experience at this lodge exceeds any place we have ever stayed. The lodge sits on a great piece of property with amazing views of the river. The design is beautiful with indoor and outdoor spaces that are gorgeous, decorated beautifully and very relaxed and comfortable. There is a great pool, fitness room and spa. The food was delicious, plentiful and on par with any top restaurant. There are only 7 rooms and most with a deck overlooking the river with its own dunk pool. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom huge with both an indoor and outdoor shower. The in-room refrigerator was stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks. A decanter with Sherry and Gin was in each room. A Nespresso Machine, French Press and instant coffee and tea were available in the rooms along with delicious snacks. They have a boat available for sunset river cruises and you can even catch Tiger Fish from their dock!

Every employee we encountered were incredibly kind and worked hard to provide a great experience. A shout out to Linda who manages the resort and Chi Chi, Dennis and Current, all who exceeded my expectations. We were fortunate to meet the owners Aaron and Edgar, both who clearly have a passion for creating an amazing experience for guests.

I will always remember this beautiful place and I hope to return again.

The bar was pretty high when we arrived at Mukwa having already stayed at a 5 star resort in Cape Town’s wine region and a boutique safari lodge near the Kruger. Mukwa (and Zambia) topped these experiences and exceeded all our expectations. Our 4 night stay at this beautiful place with the most amazing people was the highlight of an already fabulous silver wedding anniversary trip. The location is stunning, the lodge beautiful and we loved our room on the edge of the Zambezi with its river views, outside showers and plunge pool. We made the most of all the included activities including a trip to Vic Falls, sunset river cruises and breakfast on the Zambezi. Cuisine was superb and we loved our trip to the local market and tour of the organic vegetable garden to get food for our cooking lesson Zambian style. Love the fact that Mukwa are making a difference in their community - it was great to learn about the various projects, see first hand the children’s centre and hear about the football team’s progress. What made our stay really special though were the staff - starting with the musical welcome on our arrival, nothing was too much trouble. We loved getting to know not just one or two people but everyone (you know who you are). The warmth we were shown was incredible and by the time it came to say goodbye I had tears in my eyes. Zambia and our Mukwa family will stay in our hearts forever

If you’re looking for a place that has amazing beauty, welcoming staff with fabulous food and drink look no further. My wife and I had the pleasure of spending 3 nights there in July of 22 and can’t say enough about the experience. Every staff member went out of their way to make sure we were relaxed and well taken care of every moment. The buildings and the grounds had a level of thought and attention to detail that we have never experienced before. The food and drink served were comparable to that of a top restaurant in both taste and presentation. Thanks to Linda and her whole staff for a time we will never forget.

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing our 3-night stay was at Mukwa River Lodge -- it was spectacular! Our room was beautiful and spacious, right on the river with a huge yard and private pool. The entire lodge is the most beautifully designed hotel I have ever seen, it is breathtaking. We did the sunset cruise every night and the sunrise breakfast cruise on our last morning and wow, I will remember those boat rides forever. Most importantly, the staff and service at Mukwa is truly unbelievable. You can tell the staff really love their jobs and want you to feel comfortable and taken care of at every moment. On the last night, we were invited into the hotel kitchen to help prepare a traditional Zambian dinner and it was so beyond special!! If you're looking to stay near Victoria falls at incredibly beautiful lodge with the best food, activities, service and kind hearted staff, look no further than Mukwa. They truly helped us have the experience of a lifetime!

I think this lodge only opened in 2022 and at the moment it is a hidden gem but as word gets out this lodge will book up very quickly, it is stunning.

The whole place is spectacular, we could not have asked for or received more from our stay here, everything was sensational, the staff, the accommodation, the food, you name it it was next level (and more!).

We had planned to use this lodge as a relaxing recharging batteries place before flying back to the UK after spending time on safari in Botswana but the lodge had so many options of things to do that we just could not help ourselves and the lodge arranged our visit to Victoria Falls (walk around the Falls, a visit to Devils Pool and lunch on Livingstone Island), a walking safari to see Rhino and not forgetting the breakfast and sunset cruises on the Zambezi, all excellent.

As I have mentioned before the accommodation is outstanding and when you add in the fantastic staff, including chefs (who are introduced to you after each lunch and dinner) and the quality of food served up (in both taste and presentation) this place is a MUST visit.

My stay at Mukwa Lodge in Livingston, Zambia was marked by the warm hospitality of the staff. Upon arrival at the lodge, they greeted us with a welcoming song, setting a lovely tone for our visit. ChiChi, our host, was funny, attentive, and kept checking on us to ensure our needs were met.

Our knowledgeable guide, Godfrey, greeted us at the airport, later taking us on an informative tour of the iconic Victoria Falls. He took us on two enchanting sunset boat rides (and one breakfast ride!) which provided a unique experience on the stunning Zambezi River, where we saw crocodiles and hippos (and answered our many questions!)

One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience at Mukwa Lodge. The food was delicious and it was such a nice touch when the chefs came out to meet us after the meal. Our accommodations were spacious and luxurious with an outdoor shower and pool with lounge chairs to relax.

In summary, Mukwa Lodge provided us with a memorable and enjoyable stay in huge part due to the staff's hospitality and comfortable accommodations. It's a place I would consider returning to for future visits and would highly recommend to others.

We were invited to Mukwa River Lodge for lunch as part of a familiarization trip for my husband and I can honestly say, it's one of the most beautiful lodges I've ever seen. So stylish with bold colors like mustards and cobalt blue and fuschias pop out from the otherwise muted and earthy tones. Stunning view across the Zambezi and we were served the most delicious lunch by the most accommodating team. Huge thanks to Linda, ChiChi and the other staff that welcomed us.

Mukwa was our best stay in the area of the falls. It is beautifully designed, nested in luxuriant nature with soft and calming sound of water passing through in the background and amazing bird life all around. This place offers all the comfort you could hope for (best beds, private terrace on the Zambezi and perfect size plunge pools). The food is exquisite, a true gourmet experience (which frankly isn’t easy to find around).

Excellant, exceptional and fantastic. Great people, great service. Too bad we didn't stay longer, 2 days was not enough. Shout out and kudos to the manager, Linda, her right hand woman, ChiChi, the amazing chef and her staff and the rest of the staff, including Charity and Ophilia. They all knew our names and treated us like royalty.
