We had originally wanted to stay at the Waterfront Lodge but they were overbooked so were offered this as a replacement and what positive result. Whilst only having a small amount of units the service was fantastic. We felt at home from our arrival until we reluctantly left. We visited our original choice an found that to be a lot more commercial and considerably noisier. I think we had the best result.

There is always something of a culture shock when arriving in an African hotel as punctuality is not the greatest and we witnessed that here. It took nearly an hour for food to arrive and the menu was not exactly complex. That said, everything was made to order from scratch. We were swarmed by mozzies throughout our stay but the owner took every effort to reduce them in the bedrooms where the beds were excellent and the showers something of a feature. This provided an excellent base for Victoria Falls and a rhino walk.

We stayed for 5 nights with a family friends. We had 2 lodges for the adults and a separate one for the children which worked well.
Each one has a bathroom but there is no door and the walls are low. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating . The evenings were cold but we had camp fires each night and although there is no heating in the rooms the bedding keeps you very cosy.
There are mosquitos but they spray the rooms in the evening and there are nets over he beds
We had a wonderful time at the falls and enjoyed some of he other activities . All in all a wonderful holiday .

My latest experience with Bushfront isn't good at all. The booking wasn't in the system but this isn't a problem as the lodge didn't have other guests. The chalets / rooms are not smelling fresh. When coming from dinner in town we found the main gate open and no guard nearby.

My husband and I volunteer in Zambia and went to Bushfront to get away and refresh. We were the only guests in the whole facility for the two days. On our second night there at 2 in the morning, we woke to someone tampering with the door handle. My husband opened the door and found a guy in all black standing just beyond our porch. After yelling at him, he turned and ran away. The security came in a couple minutes to check on us and, after seeing we were fine, went to look for the guy. We checked our stuff and thought everything was there. But in the morning we found that he had stolen all of our US and Zambian money, about $550.

We've been very disappointed with how the situation has been handled. We only worked with the supervisor and were told the manager lives in Lusaka (about 8 hours away). We never received any calls from any higher management. Everyone who listened to the details of events were convinced it was an inside job and yet we never heard of anyone getting interrogated. They didn't get the police involved until late in the afternoon when we pushed them to. And now it's been about two weeks and we haven't heard anything from the lodge or the police. We are very disappointed and unfortunately cannot recommend this lodge.

We staid for 9 days at the bushfrontlodge. After traveling more then a day, the lodge with its lovely cabins and the friendly staff was a real treat. Every day it felt more like home. We really loved the waterfall shower in our cabins.
The beds slept well and it's ice that there's a musquitonet over the bed.
We also loved the shadow under the trees and the sun next to the swimming pool.
We had fun with the staff and they really make you feel at home.

Loved it, Loved the staff (very warm and helpful), Loved the waterfall shower (that was an unexpected pleasure). Its a nice place to get away from everyday madness if you can leave all electronic gadgets behind and just carry a good old book.

The grounds are well maintained and its affordable.

We stayed at Bushfront with our 3 children (aged 13 and 11) in September and October 2010, Due to an overbooking at our original hotel (Waterfront) we were transferred here and told it was a downgrade. It was the best thing that could have happened!

The manager and staff were fantastic- welcoming, insisting on carrying all our bags and booking all taxis for us for the whole stay. They even checked all our pick ups for tours had been changed to pick us up from the new venue and came to our chalets to tell us transport was there (no telephone)

The chalets are thatched mud huts, spacious and separated from others by bush (still in sight of our kids in next hut). The showers were a novelty- made to look like waterfalls!
These were clean and serviced daily- the staff even folded clothes and put flowers on the beds (and arranged youngest daughter's stuffed toys on her pillow for her!). Returning after a week's safari, we were greeted like long lost regulars and made very welcome.

The meals were good and good value. We could have had these brought to our room if we wanted.

The whole complex is quite small, including the pool, and there is no internet. It is pretty quiet so if you want lots of Buzz and noise it's probably not for you. It's also a little way out of town so if you don't have transport you rely on taxis.
This didn't bother us and if ,like us, you want a feel for "Real Africa" (especially its hospitality) and not just a resort check out Bushfront.

We spent five wonderful days at the Royal Sichanga Village and highly recommend this peaceful lodge where the elephants roam freely.

Good accommodation, great waterfall shower, comfortable beds and fantastic staff. The food is good, the bar is great and the staff goes out of its way to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. A door to the bathroom would help ensure privacy. Take mosquito repellent!

Thank you to Darius and his staff for a great stay!
