If you want to truly getaway for a couple days this is the place. Beautiful lodge and the rooms are impeccable. Leave the phone in the bag because Wi-Fi is spotty, which was fine by us. The people are marvelous. Be sure to do the...More
Enjoyed our short stay relaxing at the Royal Chundu. In particular, the staff were eager to please and provided great hospitality overall and during the sun-downer river cruise, romantic catered picnic on the beach at tables and complete with hammocks and a large "Persian Rug"...More
Stayed for 3 nights in May. The island lodge was superb, the staff great, the food extremely good. My wife and me are both Vegans and the chef went out of his way to cater for us for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including the lovely...More
We arrived late at night after flying in and spending the day at Victoria Falls and was greeted by Aggie and her staff who quickly showed us to our riverfront suite. It was spacious and beautifully decorated with an outdoor deck facing the river. What...More

We did exactly that got off a boat in Kasane and Royal Chundu arranged for our transfer... to the lodge. You definitely do not need your own car and would highly recommend this lodge for just relaxing and chilling, all rooms have a balcony with outdoor seating overlooking the River and they have a wonderful in room facilities... I would go back in a heartbeat!!! It was an amazing stay and just sorry we could only do one night... Definitely do a side trip to Victoria Falls if you have not been yet. Are you staying somewhere else in Livingstone or leaving from Livingstone? We stayed at Royal Chundu rather than staying closer to Livingstone although we were flying out of Livingstone it was still easy. We transferred Kasane to Royal Chundu had lunch, chilled for a bit, had a sunset cruise on the river and had the most amazing degustation meal in their private cellar and still had drinks in our room... next morning had a wonderful breakfast and transferred to VIc Falls with a guide and still had time to stop at one of the Royal Livingstone Hotel for a quick change before heading to airport to transfer out of Livingstone around mid day. Hope this helps :)

The weather is lovely in February. It is at the end of the rainy season so the river is full as are the Victoria Falls and the flora is lush and green. It is one of my most FAVOURITE times of year at the lodge. It is warm but not our hottest month (October is awarded that honour!). Let me know if you need more help with the planning of your trip to Royal Chundu.
