Although the location and views are great, I believe the staff made the stay special. Every person we met was polite and caring. Arranging balloon rides and taxi rides, we just had to ask. We arrived late, and hungry. They held to restaurant open for us. The restaurant is in a cave, and was very good. Breakfast is filling, fresh and well presented. Every room has a large shared balcony out the front and back doors. Views are expansive, as this is almost the highest point in the area. When the weather is good, there is a rooftop with sitting. The staff is more then happy to serve coffee or tea on the rooftop to complete the experience.
Winter is the best time to visit the area.

I agree with the many positive reviews this hotel has received. It is beautifully appointed with spectacular views up to Uchisar Castle and down across Pigeon Valley. We enjoyed a family cave room which was spacious and comfortable, and included a jacuzzi bath. A generous Turkish breakfast is served on a lovely balcony. Our one evening meal was excellent. It is lovely to cool down in the picturesque pool. There is a top balcony from which to watch the pigeons which give the valley it’s name and the sunset.

Our airline lost one piece of our luggage on arrival to Kayseri airport. The hotel manager was so helpful in getting recovered and delivered first thing the next morning.

Uchisar is a laid-back and friendly town from which to base one’s stay in Cappadocia. Significantly less commercial than Göreme (only two kilometres away) it has plenty of eating options and parts of it have the feel of an authentic rural town - we saw women pulping an impressive harvest of tomatoes and peppers.

All the staff here were friendly and very professional. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Staying here has to been one of our best hotel experiences ever...& we have stayed in some impressive places. The hotel itself is lovely but what truly makes it is the staff. From the moment we booked communication was prompt & helpful. We requested that they organise transport for us from the airport to the hotel but our flight was diverted to a different airport. By the time we got to our original destination the transport had left, despite knowing what the situation was. I called the hotel to check where it was & they were very apologetic but asked if we could get a taxi & they would pay for it...amazing as it wasn't their problem to solve, the transport company had let them down. We stayed for 3 wonderful nights and they could not do enough for us. I cannot highlight any 1 staff member as they were all equally fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect, we had a beautiful view of the castle & of the balloons in the morning. I would love to return in summer to take full advantage of the amazing terrace. Uchisar I feel is by far the better place to stay in Cappadocia, it has a wonderful village feel & everything is just a walk away. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

First impressions when you walk through the entrance are fantastic but beyond this, there are some basics that the hotel needs to improve on.

We stayed 3 nights here after leaving Goreme but we were disappointed. When we tried to use the pool, we were approached by staff who assumed we were not guests and tried to charge us to use the facilities.

Our main concern however was that the room was not cleaned. We arrived on a Thursday and the room was not cleaned on Friday. We raised this with reception on Saturday morning, and were assured it would be sorted. We arrived back late on Saturday afternoon after a full day trip and the room had still not been cleaned so another trip to reception! After a conversation via Google Translator, where we were made to feel that it was our fault as we had not left the “please clean my room” card on the door (there was no card in the room by the way), the room was finally cleaned and a “Please clean my room” card was delivered. As we were checking out the following morning, it wasn’t much use to us but at least the next guests wouldn’t have the same problem. When I complained, I asked to speak to the manager but the receptionist seemed reluctant and I think that’s because he was busy entertaining his friends by the bar.

Most of the staff appear disinterested and we’re far from friendly but that might be due to lack of confidence with English speaking guests.

The beds were very hard so if a comfortable bed is important then look elsewhere.

The food, including breakfast was very good. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was very good (despite my wife ending up with the wrong dish, again due to the language barrier).

It’s usual when checking out to be asked how your stay was, but nothing other than checking we had nothing else to pay.

Overall, stunning location and views but overall service and experience was disappointing.

On our 7 days trip through Cappadocia we decide to change towns and hotels and that was good idea. We booked for 2 last nights Hermes Cave due to mostly good reviews, and nice view. But from begining it was disappointment! On arrival, in pandemic era, nobody had mask, temperature was not measured, too. The room was very smal and tinny like cioridor, and the balcony is common for all rooms on the floor. Manager said that he also dont like this room which was funny and silly. They offer another room which was bit bigger but because rud conversation with menager and not safe covid conditions in that place, we dont want to stay and we decide to leave and find another hotel. Room was prepaid through booking com (we booked it 2 days earlier and hotel was mostly empty) and they said that they will return money dimmimised for tax , and I said that it is ok to take the amount for one night, but finally they did not return nothing. So, they lied. Same night we found another hotel- Harem Cave Hotel which was completly diferent. Kind staff, all wearing masks, huge rooms with private balcony, lot of intimacy, nice view, delicious brekfast. There is so many nice hotels in Uchisar, so my advice is to skip Hermes Cave Hotel.

The hot air ballon, the scenic views and the wonderful town itself was amazing. But what truly stands out is the staff and their service. They treat you like celebrities because they were so accommodating. We stayed in room 200 which was perfect for ur instagram photos!

This hotel's is better than I expecred.
1.Location is good, good enough to let me cancel reservation in Gerome. It is just meters away from Uchisar Castel. You could wake up minutes before sunrise and catch it on top of the castel.
2. Quiet, Gerome is too conercialized and a bit noisy.
3. Perfect view, has it. From its rooftop you can see the castel and Gerome easily. There is no need to Panorama.
4. Room is clean and warm enough (important) for October.
5. Parking is free.

Thanks to Russel, Kagan and all the rest of the staff for a wonderful stay.
The spectacular views of the castle (and the valleys) are something you cannot miss. The staff were so friendly and helpful in planning our itinerary and booking our balloon flight.
The kitchen is very tasty and good value, and the hotel prices are excellent value for money.
We loved our stay and will return again. I wish it had been longer.

Dear Greg, The best way to get to Hermes Cave Hotel from London is to fly to Istanbul Atatürk Airport, from Istanbul you can fly to Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport. From both of the airports when you give us your flight details we can arrange a shuttle to pick you up. From Kayseri it is an hour and half from Nevsehir it is about an hour to the hotel. To get more information please send an e mail.

Dear Lyubochka, There is a flat screen TV with satellite and Bein cable channels in Luxury Suite with Spa Bath. The room is actually famous for its views from its private balcony. There is also fire place in the room.
