We were a little bit anxious after reading the bad reviews on the hotel so took the attitude of expect the worse and hope for the best and the hotel surpassed all expectations.

Originally had a road side view room and there is a busy road that isn't very pleasant when you want to enjoy some time on the balcony, we went down to talk to the receptionist to see if there were any sea view rooms available that we could pay to upgrade to. The receptionist explained that no rooms were available at the moment but something might be available tomorrow. In the morning we were approached by the hotel staff to say that they had a sea view room ready for us and we could change completely free of charge. Outstanding Customer Service!! The difference between the two rooms was night and day, when we stay again we will be booking the sea view from the start.

Food is local based (don't expect a full English for breakfast) and some fussy eaters/families might struggle with what's on offer but from our experience all the food was lovely and had no complaints. The restaurant manager greeted us every morning with our usual English tea and couldn't do enough to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

Pool area was lovely and is attended by hotel staff constantly clearing away any glasses or rubbish at the sunbeds. Pool was a bit cold but I think that was more to do with the time of year. Music is played around the pool which we found ok (depends on your taste in music). There is a veranda overlooking Kusadasi (fantastic views) that you could spend all day (many people did) watching the world go by with a beer in hand. Drinks were absolutely fine, reports of them being watered down I think are a bit farfetched.

Location wise the hotel is, as the name suggests, on top of a hill and a 15/20 minute walk to the Marina and 45/50 minute walk into the town. However there is a local bus (dolmus) that passes the hotel and goes straight into the town or you can catch a local bus from the hospital (2 minute walk) straight down to the marina. The cost of the bus is 15tl for adults 10tl for children one way (38p/25p at the time of review).

Overall a lovely little hotel with clean rooms and staff that cannot do enough for you. Would definitely go back and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great holiday that doesn't break the bank.

Stayed here 11th to 18th august. When we checked in to the tiny reception I was worried. It was 2am, on a busy main road and looked tiny. The rooms were very small but adequate for us. Shame we didn't have a pool view tho. We had sandwiches sent to the room at 2am which was a nice touch. The pool area is small and we were worried about the lack of sunbeds but it was fine. Pool really clean and lots of beds. The cleaner worked so hard throughout the day clearing cups and ashtrays and keeping the floor clean and water free. The guys at the bar were also lovely. Lack of drink options let it down tho. Only vodka and gin or beer. Not great at all. The shop owned by Efe is perfect, cheap icelollies and everything else you may need, please visit, Efe works such long hrs. The food mmmm not great at all. Chicken everyday. Nothing for kids at all. Breakfast is poor with pancakes or omlete but no fillings like cheese or onion and nothing like jam or chocolate for pancakes. I will say tho that the resturaunt Manager Harkam is amazing, the kindest person ever. Please look out for him, he will look after you. Animation, Ummmmm. Ok Josef is so sweet, his first job and he tries really hard, his boss Alberto is also lovely but really dosnt do much at all. The animation is really really poor but Josef does his best with what he has. The ladies in the spa are very grumpy and rude. Make sure you take your own towels as there are never any clean ones in the spa. All in all a pleasant stay, defo not a 4*. Staff are lovely, hotel is clean, but location not great. Would I come again? Probably for a few nights but no longer. There was also no option to.keep our room on as we wernt leaving until 6.30pm. They allowed us to use the spa shower which was a nightmare with 6 of us and it's sooo hot dow there we were sweating by the time we had showered so had to change in the toilets.

Before travelling I read some really mixed reviews about the hotel, I watched some videos on YouTube and I felt assured that although it is not a luxury location it would be a great quality for the very reasonable price.
On arrival I was impressed with the hotel, we arrived at 11:20pm and as the bar and hotel was not serving that late we were given take away box with sandwiches, apples, juice and water. Check in was fast and we were told the shop at the hotel was open until 2am. This was excellent. The prices are reasonable too.
The hotel was calm, only a few people sat enjoying conversation near the pool, no loud music and no drunken people.

The staff are really kind, Alex the rep was not pushing to book trips but had important information in the welcome meeting.

Anna in entertainment team is full of energy, great conversation and makes you feel so welcome. The foam party was amazing, darts was fun. Water polo gets a good turn out and it’s so welcoming.

The hotel is small. It feels very safe. And all the local animals seem looked after.

The food is fantastic if you are not a fussy eater, I ate a great amount. However if you prefer meat and two veg type meals at least you can eat chop sandwiches and eggs on toast.
There are no ice cream for the kids unless you buy it but that’s fine for me.
The house drinks are effes, gin, vodka and wines. All others you have to pay for. There is a great selection of juices and soft drinks.
The view is incredible.
The rooms are clean
The family rooms are spacious.
I would say for the price it is perfect, this is not luxury but it is excellent, I will rebook again for April.

So where does one start ?
I stayed here last week in April for 2 weeks. my husband and I had separate rooms due to his snoring , this seemed to be the only thing that was ok about our stay. We were given rooms at the front of hotel on 6th floor . Both rooms were completely different but clean and ok but... the main road out the front of the hotel is very busy so very noisy .
The double glazing in the rooms is shocking and so you can hear all the traffic all the time. the beds are rock hard and the most uncomfortable one ive ever slept in but the pillows were nice.
The rooms aren't cleaned properly by the maids , they only come in , change bedding and towels but do not clean the bathroom/shower.
Walls are very thin also.

Every couple of days it seemed a bus load of teenagers turned up and spent most of the time running up and down the hallways at all hours , slamming doors and going up and down in lefts more than necessary.

There are very few staff that speak English but most of them are very polite.

The food was always cold and not much choice in main meals . I am allergic to tomatoes and peppers so stayed away from dishes that had those in however even dishes that did not have any of those in were lined the trays with them most of the time so could not each much .There wasn't always a chip/ potato option either so I ate so much bread it made me ill in the end.
Breakfast wasn't too bad as you could ask for an omelette or fried eggs but beware they do not cook them enough my husband had a raw omelette inside .
There is no option for you to have a cup of normal English tea so bring your own bags if you want a cuppa .

On the positive side , the views from the patio are lovely , nice clean pool but freezing apparently .Entertainment was ok when it was on.

Oh and the lift will only allow 3 skinny people or 2 larger people so long as you don't have a case or bag with you !
Also in the second week there was some sort of loud generator / building work noises all day from 830 til about 4! so unless they have finished doing whatever it was they were doing if you want an afternoon nap you best have one on the sunbeds!
I was very disappointed with this stay at this hotel .

Kusadasi itself is nice but VERY expensive, went for a Chinese and it cost £87 for 2 people with only 3 main dishes with2 rice and a starter for 2 plus 4 drinks !!

Always haggle with the vendors as they hike the prices up for guests coming off the cruise ships !

I recommend doing the Ephesis tour although it is a long day , and if its hot it will be very draining, although be aware you are taken to certain factories on the way there and back , also if you do the Izmir shopping trip , the same will happen too.

Where do I start! Food - very basic, though good salad selection. None of the food was labelled, so not very good for anyone with food intolerance . Table cloths very rarely changed. The lifts were absolutely filthy and if three people got in the alarm would go, though states can take 5 people.
Bed was made daily and new towels, that was it, no cleaning carried out.
Outside, bar and table’s filthy, drinks severely watered down, one bar man in particular was extremely rude to everyone, though rest of staff were very friendly. Music around the pool did not cater for the majority of the age group, no daily activities, which were advertised when booking this hotel.
Hotel advertised as being a 4 star, a beach front hotel with a gym!! Would say 3 star at a push, beach roughly 20 minute hill walk away, and you could not even see the beach from the hotel. No gym as advertised. Both of these were factors in us booking this hotel, so you can imagine very dissatisfied.

Hi me and my sister niece and great nephew stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks from the 25th July till 8th August and I can honestly say it was the worst holiday ever .As you can see I ended up in hospital with a severe bug and can I also say the food was horrible each setting .I couldn't eat anything apart from bread and water the whole 9days I was ill. When I came out of hospital my niece kept me up to pur room and I went to ask the cleaners to make a bed up for me as all I wanted to do was go asleep for the cleaners to tell me yes in 10mins but I ended up having to struggle down to get the lift to the reception. I complained to the manageress and I went back up in the lift to then come out of the lift to the staff laughing at me .It made me feel so low that I cried in my room .The hotel Says its a 4star and I can say its more like a 2star as the lifts where filthy and our room was never brushed and the beds were only changed because I stripped them every 2 days and left the bedding on the floor .Out bathroom was cleaned once in 2 weeks and shower door was hanging of even tho we reported it.The only people that helped us was the manager of the restaurant Halkan and the 3 guys from the animation team and the guy from the shop as the minute the fella from the shop knew I was sick he got his friend from the hotel the handy man to take me and my niece to the pharmacy at 12 midnight. Halkan the manager from the restaurant looked after us very very well and even brought me some food up to our room for me to try eat in which I was very grateful .All 3 of the animation team where always over asking me did I need anything and looked after my great nephew so well .Most of the bar staff were rude and charging people 10euros for cocktails even tho were all inclusive. I reported each one of them to Halkan and he spoke to them all so everyone got cocktails with the local spirits. I loved kusadasi even tho I only got 5days to see parts of it so I would go back but most definitely not to Citys Hill Hotel Kusadasi

Starting with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room, I rate it 10/10, when it comes to the condition of the hotel itself, it requires a thorough renovation and refreshment. Towels were changed every day. Bottled water was available in the room only on the first day, we were informed that we had to pay for it if we wanted more. The air conditioning smelt of fungus and the tap water smelled of chlorine. A fridge in the room was a plus. It's worth paying extra for a room with a city view. The reception staff was very nice and helpful. The food is tasty, but almost the same every day. Grilled food during lunch also did its job. The all-inclusive offer at the drinks bar included Pepsi, or rather Pepsi-flavored water, Fanta, Sprite and water. Alcohol: vodka, wine, gin and beer, the rest of the alcohol is charged. The swimming pool is spotlessly cleaned every day, but if you don't book a swim at 7 a.m., you can't count on any free time at 10 a.m. Animations during the day: 3/10. Every day there's darts played on a broken dartboard, ping pong, water polo, aerobics, but nothing spectacular. In the evening, every day, the only animation in this hotel for children is dancing, which was the same for 7 days. After that there were animations for adults. Mini competitions, dances, bingo for which you had to pay 5e per person, which was a mistake. Without any revelations. They lasted every day until 11:30 p.m., because later the animators encouraged people to go to discos. The animators are generally very polite and polite, but sometimes pushy. The hotel is located on a hill, a walk of about 20-30 minutes to the center, but I admire people who had the strength to go back to the hotel up the hill in such weather. It's very far from a normal, clean beach.
I rate the hotel itself 3-4/10
Cleanliness 10/10
Food 5/10
Animations 7/10
Service 9/10
We probably wouldn't return to this hotel and we don't recommend it.

My husband and I have been to Turkey several times. We had booked into a four star hotel, at the last minute it was cancelled by our holiday provider. They then chose City hill hotel for us, saying it was a match with the hotel we previously booked. On our arrival to Turkey we pulled up from our private transfer which wasn’t private at all sharing with complete strangers. To our horror our hearts sank as we arrived at this grotty dirty hotel. The outside looked like a cheap hostel, we entered the hotel to check in, straight away disappointed the reception area was grotty and staff couldn’t even explain to us on any information needed to know about the hotel no welcome. The rooms were appalling, I wanted to cry, if you’re a backpacker and staying for a few nights it’s ok. The bathroom was dirty mould around the toilet, no shower only the shower head from which had previously been a bath. Towels looked like they were 10 years old. Everything was old and manky. All inclusive was a laugh if you’re vegetarian you have to live on salads which is not a problem if there is something to go with it. My husband and I went into town every day to eat in restaurants as I’m vegetarian and there wasn’t anything to eat. Left overs was served for breakfast and lunch and evening. Drinks were limited especially if you don’t drink alcohol. I only wanted water but told I had to pay 2 euros for water. So had to out to the market in town to buy my water. No entertainment whatsoever, staff member trying to sing and do karaoke all night long sounding terrible. This hotel should’ve a two star hotel the photos on the web sight are a lie. Don’t be fooled by the website when you see the photos. They really need to spend money on this hotel by refurbishing as we spent money on a lovely hotel and was down graded to a nightmare place. We spoke to a rep and he even said we were down graded and he knows this is not a great hotel compared to the one I booked. So disappointed and angry.

Now we have finally be transferred to a new hotel I feel I can share my horrific experience at this hotel!

This hotel really should be a 1 star (if there was a 0 star I would have given it that), the photos and descriptions are not a true reflection of what you are booking yourself in to!

We checked in on the Monday to a toilet full of excrement! In and around the toilet!

the food was inedible - cold, chewy, some you couldn’t even get a fork into, let alone cut!
Drinks were not “all inclusive” everything was so watered down and limited!

Cats were eating the cake off the cake trays
Food was repetitive (I’m sure this was because if it wasn’t all eaten it was a reserved for the next meal….)

Pool table and paddles were broken
Pathing labs around the pool were dangerous (cut my foot twice)

Evening entertainment some you had to pay for, and it was a different cost depending on your nationality and group size…

The shower head was broken (was reported and never replaced)

The Aircon didn’t work (so the manager came and swapped the batteries from the tv control to the Aircon… fantastic!

The “cleaners” repeatedly left the door open even after being told by us to keep it locked!

The floor was never cleaned and had dirt round the edges of door frames, shower etc
Bed was hard and only a sheet and 1 pillow each provided

Dartboard was broken and not proper darts game

Music was about 10 songs on repeat which drove us insane!

Definitely not a walk from the town or beach as advertised!

Entertainment if it happened at all wasnt on time (1 hour to 2hours late)
