If you want to stay in the centre, this is not a place for you. The homestay is in the countryside, more than onekm far, and this was a good reason for us to be in a quiet comfortable room, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and relax in the garden with a swimming pool. Going to visit around costs you around 100baht Grab taxi. The landlady has a lot of one day tours to suggest you, inside and outside Chiang Rai. A couple of times we had a simple tasteful dinner at a reasonable price.
It is a nice and simple place to stay with a family. The owner is very nice and the place managed by a family. Bungalows are simple but clean and well furnished with a small private terrasse. Swimming pool is small but nice but above all atmosphere is very friendly and relax .... Good place in Chiang Rai.
The accommodation was very comfortable, and scrupulously clean. It is off main roads, therefore good for families with children. There is a pool, and a garden with play equipment for children. The staff are very friendly and gave information re local attractions . The rooms came stocked with water, tea and coffee (free) and some extras drinks and snacks that were charged for. The bed was really comfortable. Additionally there was a triceratops stool and an elephant stool in the room that made my night. Breakfast was a simple but generous meal.
We stayed here as a family and really enjoyed our stay. The kids enjoyed the pool and the main room which had toys and a piano to play on. The family who live here are very friendly and were wanting to make everyone’s stay as nice as possible. They can organise someone to come in for massages. It is far from town but they can organise you a tuk tuk. It’s ok getting in to town but the drivers do try to heavily over charge on the way home so you really need to bargain hard. Rooms are comfy although there are no English speaking channels on the tv. Great showers and comfy beds ( not too hard as so many are in Thailand).
Nana Doo means "rice/padi fields beautiful" in Thai and hence, it's located out in the fields and not within the city area... But it's only a short distance from the city area (about 10mins). So if you are looking at a city area accommodation, look elsewhere. But if you are still with me, then read on ! We hired our own transportation during our trip and once we arrived and turned into the compound, (yes there's parking space) Khun Moo, the owner, will come out and greet you. The small swimming pool will also welcome you too. This lovely place has 4 blocks and owners stay in 1 of them, which is the main block. (At time of writing this review, there is a new block (I call them mini bungalow) under construction and should be ready by next 3/4 ). There are two other mini bungalows at present and they are very conducive for small families. Breakfast is at the main block and is fantastic ! (you order what you want - fried eggs/ omelette/ french toast/ pancakes and to me, I was pleasantly surprised to have rice porridge). Ofcourse, there are also the usual flakes, bread (to toast) cut fruits, fresh milk and juices etc. It's so lovely to have yr breakfast at the poolside..... awesome ! This place has free wifi, and the room (we stayed) was spacious, has a big bathroom with a bath tub. The mini bungalows does not have bathtubs. You can get the owners to prepare lunch/ dinner but you need to inform them 40mins in advance and they can help to get your massage arranged too. We got them to get our massage in the morning we are leaving as well as lunch (at THB100 per person only). Laundry can be arranged too. Speak with Khun Moo, she is so friendly and helpful. We found out quite a few local places to explore, thanks to her. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and were rather reluctant to leave. Well, we can always plan a re-visit ! Highly recommended ! As usual, just my experiences and sharing. Cheers !…
