The North Hotel is a small, family-and-friends-run hotel in the city centre of Chiang Rai. We aim at giving our guests good quality and personal service for a reasonable price. We are centrally located in a quiet street with the bus station and The Night Bazaar in one end, and Sirikorn [silikon] Market, the fruit and flower market on the other. We are also within walking distance from everywhere in downtown Chiang Rai.

The hotel is a two-minute walk from the bus station . Everything is old, there are thin walls in the room therefore well heard neighbors, creaking doors, a tiny bathroom, but there is liquid soap and shampoo. Small balcony. Bad TV signal and poor lighting in the room. Noisy from the night bazaar. However, 2 bottles of water for free, a good wifi signal, quiet air conditioning, very comfortable mattress and pillows. I stayed in room 302 for one night, basically I liked it.

Thavelling form the airport to the city only will cost you B20. Ride will take you 20 mins or so as it will ply a few areas towards the city. Many convinenice stores around but go during Fridays and Saturdays as the night bazzar will be filled with traders, Getting around should be easy as there are plenty of cabs/grabs and you can even rent a motorbike as it will be convenient to park them as some areas the parking for cars are limited. Qiuck food dishes will cost you form B30 to B40 depending on what you have. Not expensive and the area I stayed just very near to the night bazaar, local morning markets, flower street, fruit stalls and bus station is all within walking distances. Try if for just a quick weekend if you have that little time. Chiang Rai has 2 main bus stations for Terminal 1 as being the oldest and now it is newly rebuiled and servers the northern area. Pretty odd as all outbound buses will stop in both these two stations. But Terminal one is still porpular. Enjoy.

This hotel needs some serious renovation. It's old and outdated, dirty, beds are no good. The location is absolutely fantastic. A few steps from the night market. So my suggestion just get a few beers and you will sleep anyway. If you want some luxury, just look further. Also don't expect any kind of service it is not available!!

Locally Owned and Operated. This hotel is nestled in a Great location, if you want to be close to everything. It is a quiet, clean and nicely run property. It’s not a 5 Star property but neither is its price. Will gladly stay there again.

The north hotel was nice, there was a really cool balcony you could sit and have drinks on and they offered breakfast (an extra fee) which looked good. The staff were lovely and helpful. However, the room wasn’t quite what we expected. The walls were very dirty, which made the room have a gross feel about it. The air con was VERY loud and dripped water on us. We were in a double bed room and the bed only had a single duvet on it, so one of us had to sleep with a blanket and the other one with a duvet, which was a bit of a joke.
