This new hotel is very clean, well-equipped. Rooms are simple but very comfortable, and with an excellent shower. The hotel is located in the city center, with parking facilities; prices are good, WiFi works well, to be recommended without restrictions.
We already booked 3 ppl/room through agoda many days ago before we went there. When we arrived at the hotel, the front said that their system showed up that we booked a room for only 2 ppl. So we needed to pay extra for the 3rd person! Another problem is that there is tge old lady(maybe their owner or someone related to) sat and sneezed near the kitchen when we were having breakfast😱 And she didn’t even put her mask on, so terrible🤢
Everything in the hotel was nice for me, even the location is not that bad. Friendly staff, nice service, nice breakfast. It's worth it to stay here. Next time if i come to Chiangrai again and i have to stay in the city of Chiangrai, I gonna be thinking to "Hi Chiangrai"
We stayed at Hi Chiangrai Hotel for three nights after seeing it recommended in a guide book. The price was very good--I am assuming because of the lack of visitors right now. The lodging seems relatively new, with light wood hallways and good sized rooms. I appreciated that our room had a small table and two chairs, as well as extra space next to and in front of the beds, so it was easy to move around without bumping into each other. One odd thing was that the shower seemed to have no hot water. When we asked about it later, one attendant said she'd send someone to fix it. Later, a different attendant told us you have to let the water run about 10 minutes and then it will warm up. That is, in fact, what happened, but why they didn't tell us this at check in (or when we asked later) is a mystery. We had reserved a room with a "city view." Our view was of tin roofs and a parking lot. Our check in was smooth and easy. The staff member suggested a good place for pad thai, which we go to and it was delicious. One strange thing was that, although we had arranged for a car and driver for the next day via Facebook messenger, they seemed to know nothing about it. I even showed them the conversation on my phone, but a very blank look came back at me. However, this staff member did arrange for a car with a driver that spoke some English, and it worked out very well. 300 baht per hour. The location is good for exploring Chiang Rai. In less than 10 minutes, you can be at the clock tower. There is not too much to see in the city center itself, but we created our own Wat Walk from the map the hotel provided, and enjoyed that. We tried to go to the Saturday Walking Street, but it was not happening, we assume because of the virus. Another odd thing: upon checkout, the front desk person asked us to wait. He then went up to the room, apparently to make sure we hadn't used any mini bar items or caused damage. No problem, except that 1) he went up twice (maybe the key had become demagnetized?) 2) we had a flight to catch and the cab was waiting--we didn't know we needed extra time to check out and 3) no receipt of any kind was given. While there were a few unusual encounters here, the Hi Chiangrai is a comfortable, affordable, well-situated choice and we recommend it for your trip to Chiangrai. Enjoy!…
Brand new hotel, quiet, attractive, well-appointed, located but a few minutes' walk to ground zero Chiang Rai. Breakfast a bit pricey, but otherwise fine and a relative bargain. Helpful, friendly staff, too.
