I'm so glad for selecting this place for our stay in Cha-am.
We are family of 6 people, My parents, me and husband, daughter 7yrs old and son 10 yrs old. All of us loved this guesthouse.
We used 3 ocean view rooms Every room had nice ocean view from balcony. Rooms are clean and spacious. Room had big bed, safe, flat screen TV, good wifi, small fridge.
Location was very convenient. 24 hours open local restaurant is right in front, beach road is only 20 steps away. Seven Eleven is just around the corner. Washing machine and rental motorbike at reasonable cost is on the same street. Also, minibus ticket and pickup point is on the same street too, just before second street. Minibuses go various places, for example Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Huahin, further south...
Someone wrote that this is in red-light area but this is more like a backpacker street with many guesthouses. It's not correct to call it red-light area just because there are several small bars. Noise or music from those bars never bothered us.
The owner couple and maid are comfortably friendly people, and took good care of us. His friends gather everyday in the restaurant, and all those friends are nice too.

The Golden Guest House is a new place in Cha-am and I can assure you, it will get very well-known and recognized for the quality of the restaurant (Didine), cleanliness and coziness of the rooms and kindness of the staff.

My girlfriend and I were impressed by the professionalism of the owners and staff.

There is no place proposing this quality of food and service at this price.

We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward for our next trip there.

A must visit!

This guest house located on bus soil station in Cha Am is in a good location for local bars restaurants and immediately across the road from the beach. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the busy soi below, unfortunately there are no mosquito screens on the doors so enjoying the view and sun includes invasion by mosquitos at night, There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room but the guest house was served by a great French restaurant down stairs.
At the weekends and other times loud bands and disco's play in the street below until one or two in the morning, followed by the barking of the numerous dogs who inhabit the area and followed at dawn by a very noisy cockerel.so earplugs would be advised. however at 700 baths a night it is good value and the staff are very friendly.

My Wife and I spent three wounderfull days here in early June. The owners, Nipha & Patrick really looked after us, the room we had was clean, spacious and bright, it was like a 4/5 star hotel. After reading previous reviews we had decided to stay here but no mention was made of car parking, it is available although limited and Patrick confirmed this by return email. When we arrived we asked for the best place to go for seafood, if there were any markets to visit and general directions to other places of interest. Great seafood was to be had in the Fisherman's villiage, the big market was held on Wednesday and a map was provided to other places of interest. In the end we did not go far as we were near to the beach and such a pleasant place to stay.
As for the title of the review "when do we come back" this was my Wife's question every day, we have travelled extensivly in Asia and this the first time she has wanted to return to a place we have visited, it's so laid back.
Thanks to the Nipha & Patrick.

So very unhappy!!! This is NOT a nice guesthouse and is in a horrible area! The food was passed off as their own when in fact it was bought from the street and was then charged as theirs....and was gross. The beds are cripplingly hard and the floor filthy in the bedrooms and communal areas. It is smack bang in a very run down red light district with near desperate working girls. We checked out after 1 night having paid for 5 and was refused any money back by both the owner and Hotels.com. I am a regular visitor all over se Asia and have never had a worse experience. The owners wife Nim was very sweet but is doing everything without any staff or help from the owner. Seriously think twice before coming here, and if you do, don't pay for more than one night and DONT book through Hotels.com

A small guest house run by a couple who take care and are very friendly and helpful. Located a stones throw from the beach and food stalls and beach front shops. The rooms are spacious and clean though the decor and furniture may have seen better days. Great breakfast every morning with fresh home made bread. I though this place was ideal and especially for more mature couples.

Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. They really take care for you. A lot of extra free services. I love it there. I'm already counting down to come next year to ChaAm. And then we book a room here and take our breakfasts and diners in their marvelous restaurant Hello Sawasdee.

This was our first trip to Cha-am and booked in to The Golden Guest House based on the great reviews we saw from Trip Advisor. Patrick and Nipha run a vry nice guest house. The Breakfast is yummy and you are less than a minute from the beach. Great value and the rooms are a nice size.

Central location almost on the beach; large well-appointed rooms with cable, fridge; beautiful bathrooms; spotlessly clean; friendly, knowledgeable management; Internet, but not wireless, hence 4 stars not 5 stars.
