Great place to stay. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Arusha. Has everything you would want from a hostel: clean, safe, nice people, quiet. We stayed in a private room for 6 nights total. The owner/manager were very flexible with us changing our dates when our flight was delayed and our plans changed. When there was an issue and they accidentally overbooked our room, they offered an alternative and a discount, which we appreciated. When my partner was ill, the staff were really helpful and I felt if there had been an emergency we would have been in good hands. They also offer dinner every evening for 12,000 Tsh per person, we had it a few times and it was great. Breakfast usually consisted of omelettes, fruits, pancakes, yams etc. They have drinking water, towels, lockers, communal fridge and kitchen, and they can help organise tours to local places as well. It’s not too far away from the centre of Arusha: you can get there on a daladala for about 800Tsh i believe (?) or a taxi for 5,000-10,000Tsh (you can either ask them to recommend a taxi or use the InDriver app). There’s also an ATM and supermarket within walking distance from the hostel. Overall this place is great, would recommend it.

Stayed here as a guest and also booked my safari through them and had a really great experience!
Everyone is genuinely lovely, welcoming and super helpful. You can book lots of activities and excursions and they are very knowledgeable.
Many people there are volunteers and even though I was only staying for a short time they welcomed me and included me as if I was there to stay. It’s a little further out from the centre, but they’ll help you with public transport or call you taxis/pickies that you would mostly be using anyways.
The included dinner is really tasty and served family style. Best way to meet other people and exchange.
It would absolutely stay again!

Definetly the best hostel I stayed at while I was in Tanzania. The hostel has all of the modern amenities you could dream off, making your stay here quite comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner are included and the food is both healthy and tasty. Furthermore, the staff does an excelent job at accomidating those who are either vegan or vegitarian. The hostel is also improving as time goes on, as their construction team is busy at work building both a rooftop bar and in ground pool.

The hostel is in a really nice area, close enough to town to not be inconvenient but far enough away that it’s not too loud. The staff are so friendly and accommodating that they end up feeling more like friends and I don’t think they could provide a higher level of care. The food is exceptional and the whole hostel has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel completely at home.

I spend an amazing time in this wonderful place. Everything what you need, super friendly staff, pool, spa, rooftop where you can see a beautiful sunset.
You can be in citycenter in 10min with Taxi or Tuktuk and a small supermarket you find near by (10min walking).
Rooms are super comfortable, big beds and space. You have a lot of chill out areas and different events over the week, like movienight. Definitely coming back!!!

Nyimbani homes has been so kind and very communicative to all of us. We highly recommend all friends who wish to visit Arusha for homestay and fun activities. The menu was fantastic, the food was testy.

The music was at classic sound and non of anyone was distracted.

Thanks Tin and Tizia see you next time.

Peter.

If you are looking for an oasis in Arusha, Nyumbani Hostel is the closest thing you will get.
The amenities are fabolous, the people working here are wonderful and the food here is superb.
You cant ask for for more.

The people in the hostel also arrange activities, like daily trips and they can also help to arrange for safaries.

My favourite thing about the hostel was the breakfast, it was really good and it also made it possible for being social with the other guests and, which made making friends easier. Moreover, the breakfast is included.

So if you are looking for a place to stay in Arusha, I would urge you to book your accomodation at Nyumbani Hostel, you will not regret that decision.

Our rooms were very comfortable and perfectly clean. The rooftop is amazing. Cozy common area and nice pool to refresh. Great service and location. We went on the trip to the hot springs, the price of 60$ is too high for what you get there (very crowded, touristic atmosphere). The breakfast was ok but I expected more variety because of the awesome reviews.

Stayed at the hostel for a few days. It's really big and this is the new location. (If you see reviews that are pre-Covid, assume they were for the old place). The pool is super clean and nice. The staff are very nice as well. They did a seamless airport pickup to take me to the hostel.

The staff are super nice. They are pretty much able to arrange anything you want in the way of outings, and, this is important at least to me, they don't have that "I'm doing it on commission" feel. They are just super helpful, or at least it comes off that way.

Also, breakfast and dinner are included. The rooms are brand new (like the whole building). Hot water showers, western toilets. A high wall and a 24hr security guard always walk the grounds.

Oh, and this may seem like a small thing, but it was a huge thing to me. The bed was super comfortable. I slept like a rock!

Overall, really positive experience.

I've spent two months in Nyumbani Hostel as a Volunteer and it felt like home from the very beginning. All the staff is so kind and everyone is taking care. The rooms and bathrooms are really clean. There are many quiet spots arround the hostel where you can relax. But if you want to meet other people you just join breakfast or dinner and you will meet a lot of other travellers and volunteers. My favorite spot was the bar at the rooftop. It's a really nice place to enjoy some good drinks, the sunset, and good conversations. It is really hard to say goodbye to all these amazing people who are working here.
