We stayed here at the beginning and end of our safari as arranged by our safari tour operator Easy Travel and have no complaints.
Upon arrival, I was surprised with a special birthday message spelled out with flowers on the bed :) truly appreciated and a very warm welcome and start to our vacation in Tanzania.

The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would mention is that the showers are really tiny and don't provide a lot of space to move around.

The restaurant provides plenty of options that should suit the palette for all.

Nonetheless, it was a comfortable stay and you won't regret spending time at the Kibo Plaace Hotel.

Kibo Palace was the first stop of a Tanzanian safari we booked with Kuoni and it was a great little refuge after 12 hours of travelling.

The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the staff are all very polite and speak good English. More of a business hotel than a tourist one, there was a lot of business suits and military uniforms around having various meetings, it was quite interesting to be honest.

The hotel is a little tired but the rooms were clean and absolutely massive! (Actually too big a cheaper room would have been fine, ask for a downgrade if you book a package tour like we did)

Sadly, Arusha itself is not exactly a casual place to stroll around and not a tourist location. Our tour guide advised against going out unaccompanied, though I wish there was some good local guides so you could have met some real Tanzanian locals in this mini city.

The buffet was very nice with a huge selection of food, plenty of westernised food for the less adventurous though we liked trying the arrow root which we were told was local. We did not try the pool but it looked nice and we enjoyed our first evening sitting out and reading books while enjoying the charming little garden and local beers and wines (yup Tanzanian wine is genuinely good!)

I would not book a long stay, but a day or two at the end or start of your holiday as a buffer would be perfect for a rock solid finish or start. Would happily book again before jumping into a safari!

Dear Charles, Thank you for staying at Kibo Palace Hotel and sharing your positive rating. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our food and were happy with our garden and that you enjoyed your room. I would recommend that if you do get a chance to visit us again, please speak to the receptionist about a local guide as we normally have one available upon request. We also do have an African Buffet famously known as African Night at the hotel on Fridays. We hope that if you are ever around on a Friday even if not necessarily at the hotel to try our African buffet, I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed. Once again, thank you for your excellent review and we look forward to welcoming you again soon at Kibo Palace Hotel. Best Regards, Kibo Palace Hotel - Arusha

Spent a working week in February 2020 at the Kibo Palace Hotel and loved every moment there. The welcome at the reception with a cold glass of passion juice foretold of a place to relish. My room, located in the rotunda section of the hotel was large and well furnished. It was kept very clean with fresh supplies of linen daily. The breakfast was a lovely spread of continental and local offerings. The staff always had a smile on their faces and ever willing to meet ones needs. A great place to stay.

I came here for breakfast with a friend. I will start with what could be improved and then talk about what I liked. I must say I was not to pleased with the service at the restaurant .

Customer service needs improvement. The waitress acted like didn’t expect to have non-resident customers for breakfast as I asked for the breakfast menu. After we ordered the omelette which was very expensive compared to similar hotels in the city, what was brought to the table was just an plain omelette without the chips and salad that was meant to come with it as per the menu.

I told the waitress and she went to fix it. No apology or explanation offered. It was a very uncomfortable experience especially because I am a number one supporter and fan of the Kibo Palace in Moshi and held similar experience here. Perhaps this Arusha one can learn from them. When it came to pay I said I’d like to pay in card and was told to go to reception to do it. At reception I was received well and the transaction went smoothly.

What I did like about this hotel. The hotel is beautiful inside and the male staff are very professional. The have facilities like sauna that I look forward to trying. I will give this place another chance hence my generous stars.

Wanted to have some food after an excellent massage at this hotel. The price for tilapia was expensive (35.000), but it was late and I was hungry and not in te mood to go somewhere else. The fish was overdone, the veggies were boring. The food was without taste or soul and defintely over priced. There was horrible music played by some guy on a synthesizer to make the experience even worse.

Better to go eat a 10.000 shilling meal in a simple eatery on te streets.

Hello Joselito, Thank you for choosing to dine with us at our Kilimanjaro Restaurant. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your massage session during your most recent visit at the hotel. We are also sorry to hear that our service did not live up to your standards. Ever since the covid19 pandemic hit back in March 2020, we cut down on staffing and not always is there a head chef in the kitchen to supervise the sous chefs. Starting March 2021, we have however slowly increased the number of people working per shift and this has also eased the stress of one person responsible for doing everything. We take your experience to heart and if you are open to discussing this further, please call us at +255 753 036 444 and you can ask to speak with Duncun, our Operations Manager to obtain a discount on your next visit. We'd greatly appreciate to make things right and work towards earning your business. Cheers, Kibo Palace Hotel - Arusha

For three nights on a business trip this hotel was a good choice. Rooms are spaceous and are equipped with all you need on a short trip. Try to avoid a room towards the Old Moshi Road though, as these rooms are very noise as the windows are old and not soundproof.
The wifi connection is fast.
The gym is small but offers all you need for a workout after a long day of meetings.
The restaurant is quite expensive but the quality is rather average. Also the variety of the breakfast buffet is rather small.

The hotel was beautiful with a pool, bar, and dining room. The room was great. The bathroom was even better. They had a separate shower and bathtub. There was a plethora of amenities like shampoo, body wash, shaving equipment, etc.

Meals (breakfast/dinner) were included with the room. The meal was a buffet consisting of a wide assortment of dishes.

The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to a variety of shops and restaurants.

In Arusha, we stayed here for one night before we embarked on our African safari adventure.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about the hotel - great and smiling service from every staff member, well appointed and clean rooms and good F&B. We even ordered room service, which was also good.

The fixed menu for dinner had big portions, which you can ask your waitress to reduce. Guests seemed to be enjoying the pool as well - we didn’t get the chance due to paucity of time.

There was also a wedding photography session in the lawns for a Tanzanian newly married couple - that was sweet. All in all, good hotel.

My husband and I visited Kibo palace for the second time in 4 years and it did not disappoint. All the staff went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. A couple of shout outs go to Jerome the restaurant manager, who always went out of his way to make sure every dining experience was amazing. Sunday was an INCREDIBLE bar tender, making the best mojito I have ever had, and always with a smile. The bell men were always so helpful and wouldn’t allow me to carry a thing. Our room was always cleaned to a fantastic level. Reception would always assist with any enquiry. I am sorry I do not know more names, but thank you so much for making our visit incredible. We will be retuning within the year.

My wife and I stayed here one night as part of an Easy Travel tour. Wow, what a committment to customer service. As we were celebrating an anniversary, unbeknownst us, before we checked into our room the hotel staff meticulously placed hundreds of rose petals all over our room, including a big heart of towels and rose petals on the bed. Given the number of rose petals and their placement, this would have taken a considerable amount of time to undertake. Suffice to say, we were completely shocked and overwhelmed. The room itself was also very nice with a king sized bed, nice furnishings and a gorgeous view overlooking the pool. Dinner that evening and the buffet breakfast the next morning were absolutely delightful! Overall, we had a fabulous stay thanks to the superb customer service of the hotel staff. Thank you so much.
