Checked in on 13 August 2022. Stayed for 4 nights.

I loved the variety of foods available on buffet nights. Food was simply delicious. They can however improve upon drinks available i.e. cocktails and start providing reliable, secure and interesting tours facilities.

Service was impeccable and rooms are clean and cozy.

We stayed at the property on two separate occasions. One night upon arrival in Arusha and one night while on safari after completing Kilimanjaro summit. The hotel and the grounds are lovely. Our room was very clean, had air conditioning and a very nice shower. They provided toiletries and a hair dryer. The wifi was decent but worked much better in the lobby. They have a nice outdoor pool that’s a little chilly because it wasn’t heated. The bed could have been a little softer but the bedding was nice. We were booked through our tour operator and were given a set menu for dinner on both evenings that was included with our room. The beef tenderloin was one of the nicest meals we had while on our trip. We liked it so much we had it both evenings of our stay. We met some really great staff members who were excellent and really took pride in their jobs. We also however, encountered some staff members that really didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They could have been new and needed training, if that was the case perhaps they should have been shadowing more experienced staff members. There seemed to be a disconnect between the coffee shop and the front desk with regards to specialty coffee being billed to our room. That process could be streamlined to avoid misunderstandings upon checkout. Aside from a couple of odd encounters with staff, the rest of our stay was very nice.

Thank you for a great stay:
Many positives! Location is super off the main road, plenty of secured parking. The rooms, have all the amenities required, keep the shower running a little to get warm-hot water! If it's possible for the hotel to change from offering plastic water bottles to glass, plastic wrapped soaps etc this would be super for the environment! The views of the garden from the room are beautiful. Breakfast buffet was super and the staff and chef made an extra effort to meet our dietary requirements. What a pleasant surprise that on the second day of our stay the staff / chef remembered and came to our table again to ask to prepare something additional to meet our requirements - extremely considerate and caring which went above and beyond our expectation! Many thanks and we hope to be back in the future.

Mt Meru Hotel in Arusha is not your usual safari lodge, it reminds more of an European business hotel with a slight African touch. The rooms are clean and modern, the different restaurants serve all kinds of different food and the hotel has a very beautiful terrace. We recommend a stay here for one night, either before or after a safari. If you chose to stay 2 nights or more in Arusha we recommend a lodge. For more information read our other reviews...

I had the chance stay for a few days at Mount Meru Hotel. Compare to others hotel which I visited here in Arusha, the Mount Meru Hotel is the best!
I left with a feeling like I was leaving a family and a place where you can feel like home. The hotel is immersed in a stunning garden. I loved having breakfast in the terrace and enjoy the amazing surrounding nature and the sing of colorful birds.
The infinity pool immerse in the garden is a truly relaxing experience.
Breakfast [unforgettable the tasty and fresh fruit selection] as well as dinner are excellent, even for a vegetarian like me, I -finally- had the opportunity to choose through several option! Thank you again!
Staff are very kind and professional, happy, and prompt to assist you for any documentation or booking you might need. Rooms are very clean, and the hygiene is really high. Remarkable are all the safety measures used against COVID 19, which makes me feel very comfortable!
Wi-Fi works great: fast, and consistent!
Definitively, I will come back again!
Thank you All for such great and amazing experience!

This hotel is off the main highway, with lots of noise and traffic, with a very active club across the street. The "king" bed is really a full/queen-sized bed and hard as a rock. We had to ask for face cloths, and after being asked to "double check" the very small bathroom, we received the requested face and hand towels. Luckily we only had to stay over night for an early morning flight. We barely went to sleep, but after a long drive from the Serengeti, we just wanted to shower and get out of there at 4am to get on our flight to Zanzibar. We've stayed in 5-star hotels throughout 11 countries in Africa...and this is NOT one of them. 3 stars at the most.

After my 3 days Mount Kilimanjaro hike I decided to spend two nights in Mount Meru, it was one of the best hotels in Arusha. The service is 5 star, the staffs are very accomodating, the room has an amazing view. The food is also good. The price is on the high side compared to other hotels in Arusha but it's worth it.

I really enjoyed my stay here.

The Mount Meru Hotel was the starting point for our Tanzanian safari so we only had an overnight stay but our impressions of the hotel were very good.

The public areas were all attractively decorated and spotlessly clean, the staff were all very helpful and friendly and the buffet dinner and breakfast we had in one of the two restaurants were very tasty and offered a good selection.

The room was comfortable and clean with a terrific view out to the foothills of Mount Meru and the grounds were attractive and tidy, with a good sized pool (which we didn't try out) and nearby pool bar (which we did).

No hesitation in recommending the Mount Meru.

We crossed the new year into 2024 at Mount Meru Hotel with my family and overall had a good stay. The rooms were spacious with all the necessary amenities were provided, the main issue was that the cleaning was sub-standard. On two occasions we had to re-call housekeeping to come back and clean the room because there was dust in the corners and under the bed. They also need to provide different sizes of towels, not just the large ones.

The breakfast buffet was really good, but the general restaurant menu and options are average for the high prices charged.

The swimming pool was a hit with our child.

We tried out the spa and it was honestly over-priced especially given that the spa is quite old and needs upgrading.

The fireworks show at midnight ringing in the was the highlight of our stay, it was simply spectacular.

I stayed about five days at the Mount Meru hotel and I really appreciated the atmosphere that reigned there.. the professionalism of the staff who were at our entire disposal and guided us wonderfully. I was especially amazed by the very courtesy of the room cleaners who were very attentive to us and ensured the ownership of our premises with great professionalism. I hope you will one day meet Linda...one of the women who takes care of the maintenance of the rooms, she puts so much professionalism into it that we thought she lived only for the hotel and the satisfaction of the customers. A big hat to her while hoping to have her climb the ladder in her work to share more of her experience with others. I highly recommend the host Mount Meru

We were on a business trip here last time so we were taken to the hotel by a private van. Not really sure if was including in the hotel charge as it was company paid. The next day, we met the same driver named Henry and negotiated to give us a tour of the area. We closed the deal for about $50. He speaks good english and took us to this nice resto that serves bbq at really, really cheap price. ‭+255 757 024 493‬
