Went back to Arusha after 3 years and opted on The Arusha Naaz Hotel once again (earlier reviewed in Nov. 09)
CameronW23 clearly has it all wrong because the staff were fantastic, the room was clean, sheets were washed, food was brilliant and overall enjoyed my 2 nights at the Hotel.
TV's have been upgraded to flat screens since my last visit and safe deposits been added which was very pleasing. A new supermarket has also opened downstairs which has pretty much everything so very convenient.
Happily tipped the staff when leaving due to their great service.

In my humble opinion the Naaz serves the best Samosas in the world. I dropped in to the Naaz Hotel because I remembered the great food I had there as a young man. I was not disappointed and the nostalgic visit makes this place a must for every visit to Arusha. The hotel is still running though, I didn't check out the accomodations.

I run Meet Africa Safari, and I always get a lunchbox from Naazi Hotel. They are making adorable lunchboxes, and they can also include any special food restrictions. So if you are starting your safari from Arusha, I highly recommend taking the lunchboxes from them.@Kissay's

I booked the Arusha Naaz Hotel for 2 days after my Safari. I was unsure of what to expect for the price. I was very surprised at what I got. I felt more welcomed here than at just about any hotel that I have stayed in. The room was clean. The food was good. The service was great. This will be my choice when I return to Arusha. My only complaint would be the wifi. But who needs wifi on vacation.

What can I say. Naaz is home away from my birth home just a few streets down from the clocktower. Although I now live abroad and have experienced every level of hospitality, nothing feels more comfortable and familiar than Naaz. It's been around for nearly 40-50 years and remains as charming as ever. From management to staff, I consider these people good friends in Arusha.

In the very noisy centre of Arusha. Many rooms with not functioning showers or electricity problems, breakfast is very basic. Service was poor and always difficult discussions. There are much better lodges or hotels in the neighbourhood for the same price.

The Arusha Naaz Hotel is the ideal hotel for one that provides full value for money. Its location is probably the best in Arusha with Internet Cafes directly opposite, supermarkets close by and right in the centre of the city of Arusha. The $45 charge for a double room with Bed and Breakfast seemed reasonable and I felt that I was provided with good value for my money. The breakfast included several fresh fruits, fresh juice, tea/coffee and delicious eggs and the service was simply amazing.
We also decided to try out the buffet lunch (priced at only $7 pp) and it was probably the best Indian cuisine that I had over my entire stay in Tanzania. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly.
Definitely recommend this!

The place I was volunteering for put me and another girl here in separate rooms. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot water was good. Breakfast and service in restaurant were good. But........as this hotel is right downtown by the clock tower it was very busy outside the front doorway leading to the courtyard. Flycatchers, (young men and woman hoping to sell you something or find you a place for your purchases) were everywhere. On the third morning of our stay, we started getting harassed so badly we felt uncomfortable, five young men even followed us into the courtyard of the hotel and would not leave us alone. We were surrounded and none of the staff came forward to deal with them. We called our coordinator and asked them to please find us other accommodation which they did. Not good hotel service at all for safety.

Clean and good service. Very much central and surrounded by Banks and Bureau.
The restaurant was reasonable with good breakfast. I would recommend for budget travelers. Basic rooms with hot water shower.
