Its immaculate cleanliness is consistently celebrated, complementing the hotel's serene atmosphere adorned with old world charm and the occasional peacock visitor. The establishment offers excellent value, boasting affordable, spacious accommodations. Nestled within Galle Fort, the location is a highlight, offering easy access to local shops. A super hotel located in the heart of the fort. Steps from the wall for your morning walk after a great breakfast, great shopping for the afternoon and close to some great restaurants for lunch and dinner. The French influence is strong here, it seeps out of the beautifully decorated walls and arches, and dominates the garden in the entrance. We loved it!

We loved the collonial architecture and spacious design that ensured that Mango House was well ventilated. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we felt both comfortable AND safe during our stay! It was also in an ideal location due to its proximity to the highway and position within Galle Fort that gave us easy access to all the best restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend staying here during your time in Galle :)

It is hard to review this place as I had mixed feelings. The location is great in the heart of the old Fort, it is quite cute, and there are lots of eateries and shops around.

The bed was huge, the bedroom was air conditioned so it offered cool relief from the heat ( when running), but the rest of the hotel was quite hot and muggy. Their generator wasn't working when we were there so that may explain it, and we had a power cut in the morning when the A/C stopped. This made breakfast a pretty ordinary experience.

The hotel is a good budget option in Galle where prices can be steep for good hotels. Personally I will pay more and stay somewhere a better next time, but if you are on a budget Mango House is a reasonable option. I would acknowledge the current crisis in SL may have impacted the hotel so I am trying not too be too harsh. It just wasn't the place for me.

Calm. Quite. Cozy. Serene. Vibrant. Cottage. Boutique. Princely. And two mango trees.

Yes. You are reading it right. The moment you step into the hotel/home. A very well mannered gentleman will most probably offer you a room upgrade. Your delight level starts from there. Cologne towel. Welcome drink. Vibrant colour and indian arts on wall. Skylight from above at lobby. Bathroom and balconies makes is beautiful home feel very close to nature.

There are small issues but never mind. Because the place is so innocent you can’t blame the shortcomings.

At this price point the room. The breakfast and specially the unique hair conditioner will definitely cool you off.

Will visit again because the location is just enough reason to tick this hotel in galle area.

We have just spent 2 nights at Mango house and are sad to leave. For a well priced boutique hotel it offers everything one could want. A great staff who are very attentive to any need, and who all spoke good English. Wonderfully air conditioned, clean and comfortable rooms. We were generously offered a complimentary afternoon tea and then wine before our New year’s dinner. I also loved that they had a wonderful range of books in the lounge/dining area to peruse. And.. we could do washing by the load which makes life much easier! All in all, I would not look much further should we return - which we would love to do.. 2 days was not enough to soak up this town.

We could see into the small kitchen from where we sat kitchen looked clean chefs working hard . Place got busy after we arrived about 6.30 a few families, couples, friends atmosphere was good . Prices are reasonable . It's up a side street you wouldn't necessarily walk down we got out tuk tuk to take us straight there .Recommend the mango house and would definitely go back well done to all the staff great experience tonight x

This hotel is a wonderful calm and tranquil place in the centre of Galle Fort.
The hotel is situated in a quiet street with a lovely garden at the front and courtyards at the back filled with tropical plants.
The hotel is relatively small and very attractively designed. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful

Our room was situated on the ground floor with patio doors to an attractive courtyard. The room was very comfortable with very efficient air-conditioning. The attached bathroom was very clean and everything functioned perfectly.
The breakfast was served by the garden and was very good.
The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. They helped us with printing visas for our next destination.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if in Galle.

Slap bang in the middle of Galle fortress and with all the local restaurants just a few minutes' walk away. It's only recently become a hotel but it retains the colonial charm.

Essentially this is a glorified B&B (albeit a lovely one), just don't expect a lobby bar, room service or to have lunch/dinner there - not that there is much need as there are so many options just around the corner.

Staff were fantastic & the breakfast was amazing

A decent place with basic amenities. The staff was helpful. The location was in the middle of the Dutch street and it was helpful to go for a walk and explore the places around. There are several restaurants around this place that you can explore. The in-house restaurant did not have a lot of options. They were very supportive when we tried to find an auto rickshaw to reach the bus station in time! The staff was very kind!
