We had lunch here as part of a tour. The hotel is on the outskirts of Jericho although probably a bit too far to walk. It is typical of a new middle eastern hotel full of wide spaces, marble and rather brash. The facilities looked good with a large swimming pool not being used. I saw no other guests apart from us but did note that the staff were preparing for a large business conference in the ballroom. The lunch itself was the traditional buffet with good food and helpful staff in a pleasant dining room. The place was well run and clean. Perhaps it gets busier in the summer.

The hotel is pleasant, with a particularly noteworthy pool. However, smoking is permitted in the lobby, and the pool contains a high level of chlorine, which irritates the eyes.

The outside restaurant near the pool is disappointing. We ordered a burger, pizza, and chicken fingers, none of which were satisfactory.

The breakfast was excellent, but the food court is quite dark, obstructing the view outside.

From an American perspective, this hotel is like something you would see in Las Vegas...big, glitzy fixtures, and in the desert. A comfy bed, good food, well-appointed bathroom - this was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel was basically empty when we were there, which was sad. Stay here and support this lovely place!

My Wife and I stayed there this past January during our visit to the Holy Land. The Hotel is within 10 mins (by car) to the Dead Sea Shores and same to old city of Jericho. We had Breakfast included and the food let me tell you is beyond our expectations. Had some typical middle astern dishes (Hummus, Falafel, Fava beans, Zaa'tar Pies) but also other plates you find at any InterContinental around the globe (cereals, fruits, omelets, boiled eggs, milk, juices, etc.)
As for entertainment at the restaurant by the pool area (covered) very arabesque in design had a guy playing the lute one night. Very relaxing and prices were quite affordable compared to places here in Boston. The staff is amazing, very accommodating and friendly and all who I talked with spoke good English.
The weather was perfecto will get 65F during the day and drops to maybe 45F at night, some night were cooler than others. We did manage to swim in the dead sea in January though!! As for security you don't even to have to worry about it. The hotel is adjacent to a Casino (currently closed) and the adapted to same level of security you have at Casino/ Resort Hotels. Each car comes in has to stop at the gate and looked at before it makes it in. There were three pools but only one functioning since it is winter, but I could imagine what would it be like in the spring and summer. Nice green area to lay down and few tennis courts as well. We are certainly coming back on our next trip.

Generally what you would expect from the InterContinental brand - spacious rooms and bathrooms, firm comfortable beds, free wi-fi, and attentive service. Breakfast and food quality in restaurants are good, although nothing to get excited about. Location is on the edge of Jericho - so nothing within walking distance. The best feature of the hotel are the recreational facilities - large outdoor swimming pools - including a shallow pool for toddlers, good gym, tennis & squash court etc ... and nice area around the pools to sit outside in the evening. Downside was there was cigarette smoke coming into my room through the ventilation system and the windows were locked shut. Also cigarette smoke in hallways ...
