Booked 2nights 3 days rinjani at 1,300,000 idr. Guide provided is a nice man but not an experienced guide, more like an experienced porter. The crew is not experienced to take trekkers up to the top of Rinjani as the climb is tough and beginners climbers may require assistance. Tents are poor we were 3 of us squeezed in a small one. Food is mediocre. Perhaps it is worth spending 200k more and get a professional company.

The place doesn't lie, it really is an amazing view, with a comfortable lounging area to enjoy it. Food is good and averaged 45K Rp. The family room was descent, but definitely no frills. No hot water, then run out of water often. Power can go out which causes issues with the WiFi, though our 2 days there went okay. Apparently the day we left to hike power went down for the whole day. And for hiking... yes they will try to up sell you it's how they make a living. Just know what you want to do and insist. Up until the morning of we were still unsure of he was going to rent us gear. But that day when he knew we wouldn't be joining his 3D 2N tour he was nicer. Also for couples who dropped in, he seemed to have great rates for the 3D 2N tour.

Like many other reviews say this company has its ways of trapping tourists. I was initially booking with ary trekking which isn't the most reputable in itself, and since it's low season and I wanted to trek with others ary brought me to restu with view. I stayed there the night (basic room with 1 plug, cold shower and no WiFi) Left the next morning to start the trek and left our bags in another room. I asked if we could lock our bags and he looked confused and said he locks the door. I should have brought my wallet with me but I didn't want it getting soaked so I trusted them. After returning back and counting my cash I discovered there was 200k idr missing. I called them out and they all gave me a blank face, not denying anything happened. Of course the guy that took care of is the prior night/morning wasn't to be seen.

We booked a trekking tour (2D, 1N) with restu by view (which we didn't know before starting the trekking tour, because we booked at the agency "abultrekking" in which we were told a lot of "selling storys" about how he built up his own trekking company). Since it was low season Abul told us we might go with other trekkers going for the 3D, 2N tour, but then would have 2 guides. In the end there was only ohne guide, who (we found out at 8pm when it was dinner time at the crater rim) was not supposed to go down with us (5 unexperienced hikers - 1 male, 4 female aged 20-57), but we were supposed to go by ourselfes and 2 porters who were so havily packen the never would have been able to help anyone. Only by threatening the guide - who was actuelly very friendly, helpful and understanding - with going to the police, because the contract was not fulfilled (luckily we had a sheet of paper saying that an experienced guide is included in the trip), he went down with us the next day. In conclusion the other part of the group, which was luckily more experienced, was left alone with only porters and no guide. Overall our trip was an example of: how to get the most money out of tourists and at which point can we safe money, not caring about their safety, contracts or promises. But it's also an example for: you don't have to let anything be done to you.

We were arranged to stay here before the trekking. The hotel room is very basic, beds are big but quite hard. The toilet is not that clean, especially the bathtub... However I arrived the hotel very late at 10pm and checked out at around 7am on the next day, I considered my short stay fine as it was inclusive in the package. We also got free breakfast in the morning and were allowed to store the bags after checkout. View is great too from the hotel.
