Beautiful private bungalow, kids loved exploring the bungalow and the gardens. Beautiful pool and surrounds. The kids wanted to cancel the rest of our trip! Kadek, the owner is perfect - nice, helpful and leaves us to our privacy. Wonderful place, without being extravagant.

Kadek and her family make staying here such a happy place. Not only is the price reasonable but the place is gorgeous. Based on traditional Balinese huts and 10 minute walk (5 min scooter ride) to Ubud city centre- makes for this place feeling secluded and quiet but not too far away that you feel isolated. Along the main road there are plenty of cafes and restaurants (Vegan and Veggie options), laundrette and some clothing boutiques too. Very close to Intuitive flow yoga studio. Gerebig Bungalows was such a beautiful piece of heaven within Ubud. The huts are super quaint and the apartment room was lovely and modern. The gardens are just gorgeous and the staff are so friendly. Kadek and her husband are what make this place such a lovely stay, I miss the family so much that I plan to stay again next February when I go back to Ubud to be a mentor on a training. If you are looking for somewhere beautiful, comfortable, affordable and surrounded by nature (instead of the sound of tourists) I highly recommend this place. Kadek also offers scooter hire and tickets to shows.

Friendly owners, great rooms and close to everything necessary including yoga, yet far enough away from the hubbub it's like being in the countryside! Gerebig Bungalows were friendly and approachable, with good value rooms that were clean and spacious. Not luxury, but budget travel at its best!

Our original 2 bedroom bungalow was disappointing as it was very small, with the bed only 150mm from the window making it almost impossible to get in the bed from that side. There was only room for a small dressing table in the room with little space for 2 persons luggage. The second bedroom upstairs has a very steep ladder/stairway to climb, almost impossible unless you are young and fit. We moved to a second one bedroom bungalow which was perfect for our needs, with much more floor space. Our hosts were most accommodating and made our stay an extremely pleasant experience. We would stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay, Kadek and Wayan are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, and the gardens around the two compounds are beautiful. The pool is an incredible oasis that is surrounded by lush greenery and an absolute treat on hot days. Conveniently located near many warungs, and a taxi stand for those who don’t drive their own scooter... walking distance to yellow flower cafe, intuitive yoga, alchemy, pachamama, roots, etc.

My wife & I spent a very pleasant and enjoyable six nights at Gerebig Bungalows with friends. A healthy breakfast is included in the nightly tariff. Kadek and Wayan are fantastic hosts and it was a pleasure to meet them. Gerebig can arrange airport pickup and drop-off for a reasonable price (A$30-40 each way). The Bungalows are about 60-75mins from Denpasar if the traffic is reasonable. The bungalows are solid constructions and are clean and comfortable. They aren't air-conditioned but fans are adequate for most of the time. The rice-field setting is superb and the swimming pool is clean and cool and big enough to do some modest lap swimming. The Bungalows are 1min walk from Penestanan's main street where you'll find a big supermarket and plenty of lovely, local restaurants that offer nice Balinese food at cheap prices. You can also walk into downtown Ubud from the Bungalows if you don't mind getting out and about in the tropical weather (take a hat and an umbrella). It takes about 20-30mins each way. Alternatively, Kadek can arrange scooter hire at a cost of about A$5/day. It's best if you are licensed and have some 2-wheel experience as the traffic is, er, chaotic. Overall, Gerebig Bungalows is great value and really enjoyable. We will return!

A little piece of paradise in an otherwise dense and touristy environment. House #2 (two double beds on two levels), with the rice field facing the veranda and the pool barely in sight behind tall bushes. No AC, but very comfortable with fan. Large tiled bathroom on the ground floor with regular toilet and large showering area with open ceiling, really neat. Accommodations include a great breakfast (selection of fruits, jaffle or omelet, fresh fruit juice or coffee/the) delivered to your porch at the desired time. Very kind and helpful Indonesia owner.

We returned to Gerebig Bungalows for the seventh time early January. The main attractions are : the spacious bedroom with fans, the large pateo with cosy chairs and lounger with direct view of the lovely garden and rice field, the added small exterior kitchen with fridge and gas cooker, and the easy access to three very good eating places along a lane to the west and to the road that leads down to Ubud to the east. Breakfast was brought on time every morning and the room cleaned every day. The lighting is a bit dim but we've never seen any creepy crawlies and we have always felt safe. The bathroom and kitchen are a little bit jaded but overall considering the price we have obviously been satisfied. It's not luxury but it is charming and very well located.

The beauty and peacefulness of the setting is lovely, and the staff, especially Kadek and her smile and good nature, made our stay really special. We started in the roomy bungalow 3 and later on returning to 4 which was so much more comfortable, little extra luxury and a good price. The location is perfect - a few minutes pretty walk to yoga studio and cafes and peaceful places, but also a bustling 20 minute walk to central Ubud. I would definitely stay here again, it reminded me of Ubud 35 years ago.

First of all, i would like to say the (+) of this property, it might bit old (as it was built in 1989) but the owners Wayan & Kadek keep doing the renovation for the building itself and the garden (which is i thought very tropical , calm and beautiful), i was stay at the room 5 which is very quiet. The things that makes me really satisfied are the staff and the aura of this place as i'm doing meditation. The Staff are very kind and very handy, their english might not so good but they understand everything i said and doing the task and order very quick and well. The aura of this place is really peaceful, i meditate every 3 am and i can feel the positive vibes of this place, so peaceful.
