My husband and I went to the Aritharappy Falls from Kochi on a day trip. On arriving we wanted to first have coffee and use the washroom before trekking to the falls. We went into a beautiful resort called the Rainforest, which had a stunning panoramic view of the waterfall
The Manager courteously told us they didn’t serve visitors but we could use the washrooms. Post which, we thanked him and moved on.
On our return from the falls, we made a short stop to have a glass of juice at a restaurant. Half way back to Kochi my husband realised he had left his extremely expensive hat at the restaurant.
We could not remember the name of the restaurant but just on a whim I called Mr Thomson, the Manager at the Rainforest and explained the issue.
He immediately reassured me not to worry, asked the location of the restaurant and said he would go himself and check it out. Half an hour later he WhatsApped the photo of the hat and asked- if it was the right one.
Thoroughly shocked we said yes and we thanked him and said would be very grateful if he could have it couriered to us, as we leaving Kerala the next day. He said don’t worry I’ll just despatch a boy to your hotel in Kochi.
Four hours later the boy delivered the (USD 900) hat at our room. I thanked him and compensated him even though he didn’t ask for it.
Mr Thomson has not only become our hero but has proved to us that Kerala is truly God own country with very special people!
Our next stay is definitely in the Rainforest Resorts! ( Baymaas. Lake house , Kochi)

Had a wonderful 2 night stay in the treehouse at rainforest resort. It may be a bit pricey but the treehouse is worth the cost. It has such a wonderful view of the falls and the sound is just amazing. The tree house has air on and WiFi so is super comfortable and we enjoyed just sitting on the balcony watching the falls and deer, both of which are just fantastic.
The food was delicious and although it is a set menu they discuss it with you and make sure it is something you will enjoy, which we certainly did. The only thing is that the pool area could do with a bit of sprucing up but I think it is little used at that time of year. All the staff were super friendly and courteous. A must place to visit if you want a special memories.

a beautiful property, with a view of athirapally waterfalls from each room. excellent location, a bit on the pricey side.
lovely staff, always helpful to our need. they also have a complimentary food massage and hike to the falls with their staff. the food is authentic kerala cuisine. food is only served in the dining area (no room service).
they do have wifi, but the connection is not good. the room are below the ground level and you need to climb stairs to go to your room and back to the dining area. so be careful to book this property if you have mobility issues or knee problems.
if you only want to relax, the a beautiful view this is for you

The place looks pretty in pictures and they claim pricing of a 5 star but service is extremely sub-standard. We asked for tea after lunch at 2:30 and they said a flat no.The room furniture is old and dirty and generally not worth the price they are charging. Not coming back or recommending to anyone.

In my opinion, the resort is a bit overpriced in comparison to the services and facilities available. Welcome drink (Tea) was served to us a whole hour after we checked in. There are not enough lights, both inside and outside the rooms, causing the resort premises to be dim. Lastly, we expected a good variety of food items for breakfast and dinner, but surprisingly, there were only a few options available. The staffs were taking too long to respond and fulfill the necessary requirements. The telephone was not working in our room and it was not fixed throughout our stay of 1 night.
The only thing that saved the stay was the view. The waterfalls looked breathtaking from the resort and the environment was serene and pleasant.
My suggestion would be to increase the number of staffs so that the service gets more efficient and quick. Besides, the location and view are perfect for tourists to visit.

We visited this places during the pandemic and we were amazed to see the way they kept everything sanitized wherever they can. Talking about the view, trust me photos here are for real and you would never want to come back from this place.Special shoutout to Gokul and his team for everything they are doing with limited staff but they never left any stone unturned to make our stay a memorable one.

Suggest going there during monsoons to get the full impact of the falls. Rooms are normal but all rooms comes with a spectacular view. Since this boutique hotel has only 9 rooms and one tree house, most of the times the tariffs are exorbitant. For travelers who like to have a glass of wine or a beer , please do carry with you as this is a No- alcohol resort. Food is typical Kerala cuisine and I personally would rate it very very tasty. Staff are extremely courteous and friendly.

Altogether it was a very pleasant experience.

This boutique place has the closest available view of the famous Athirappilly falls, the lounge and the dining area has an uninterrupted, soothing and beautiful feel of the mist and the falls. We were here for lunch and were served Kerala cuisine on banana leaf. Though their website claims to be offering choice of cuisines with prior information, we were told that none of it is available and only Keralite cuisine will be offered, which turned out to be delicious. The location of this boutique property is in midst of thick green forest and closest to the famous falls. A stay for a day may be good for the experience of it. The attitude of the attending staff is quite rigid and not conducive to the guests’ requirements.

The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and helpful during our visit. The food was generous, attractively presented and delicious. Our room was stylish, comfortable and clean. The complimentary massage was just what we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our early morning walk to the bottom of the waterfall led by the property’s knowledgeable and attentive naturalist. We enjoyed the swimming pool in fact we enjoyed it all. We would highly recommend for those wanting peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting.

A very well located resort facing the majestic waterfalls which can be visited by doing a small trek . Avery well trained and warm front desk team . The staff and managers are delight to guest with their warm interactions and suggestions about the local place . The chef gets 10/10 on good food preparation of Kerala cuisine . We enjoyed Sadhya served on banana leave during lunch . A relaxing laid back 2 days .

Keep up the good work .
